This is the first video in a short series showing the perfect pad and polish combination to perfect this car's finish. We will go well beyond the subject as we showcase the Subaru WRX STi. On April 2, 1988, Subaru Corporation officially launched its new performance and motorsports division, Subaru Tecnica International. That makes today STI's 30th anniversary, and in that time, it's given Subaru three World Rally Championships, earned four class wins at the Nürburgring, and built some incredibly fun-to-drive road cars.

Brian, this is fantastic as this would be the type of car I, as a novice, would work on for a friend. When you showed all the love marks and identified it as soft clear coat, the first thing I thought about was the same orange pad, but using LVR-403, 404, or a few dots of each since the 404 tends to have more gloss to it. My thought is the acrylic would help fill in those deeper marks making them disappear better. I don’t dare question your attack strategy, but curious your thoughts on my strategy in general. Thank you so much for doing these series videos. I learn much from you.

Great video Brian. I’m what you’d call a driveway detailer. I’ve learned what I know from you, Pan The Organizer, Phil Miranda, Brian at FAB, and a few others. About 90% of the time I grab an AIO and ether the orange or white Lake Country pads. I will sometimes use the Chemical Guys Hex Logic pads. Almost all of my customers just want their swirls removed. These pads will do that. Like you said you’ll learn all this with experience.

Brian, I recently got a CRI adjustable handheld light similar to the one you used before the first combo (Meguiars/ScanGrip MT103). It would be great to hear you mention what color temp you recommend for the color paints you are working on. I'm sure the easy answer is whatever shows the most defects, but since I have a red car also it would be nice to get a ballpark since my light has so much range. It looks like on this red you went to a more white setting vs. warm.

I actually already have Orange CCS pads for a 2020 BMW X7 SUV project on my list (Arctic Grey), but I also want to do my 2017 M3 (Purple) which has more “love marks” after 50k miles of ownership, auto car wash usage, and no previous paint correction done, hence my question about the Uro 50/50 vs Orange CCS for the M3.

I have a 2012 Black kia with HARD water spotting on the roof, bought the car used that way. Nothing I have tried will take it out, including cutmax and a hybrid wool pad.
