Yet, Robinson won. The crowd booed and it was tought Robinson was made the winner to support patriotism as he would be inducted into the army the next week, while LaMotta, disabled because of his ear, would not. I wasnt there tho, and there isnt any full film of this fight. But it is still believed than LaMotta should have won 2 out of the 6, instead of only 1.

It was not even a true knockdown really, It was more of a slip. And it was to the #6 ranked light heavyweight at that time, Danny Nardico. Jake was old, washed up, not in shape (he was 173 lbs, a weight he was not too comfortable in) and just got back from a slugfest with Bob Murphy. Lamotta was just a shell of himself at that point. Prime Lamotta would bust up Danny real bad and win a wide ud.
