Really love the mesh side panel. Other brands should follow suit! I am kind of tired seeing tempered glass being slapped to every case in existence now. Meshed side panels do almost the same thing with more airflow functionality added to it. Great video and music as always Nick!

I have a Corsair Crystal Series and run my PC with out 2 of the glass panels off. Looking to replace the Forward intake to mesh and the side with mesh before i put the glass Front side on. Thinking of spacing the top glass a little higher..but probably not because of the Side mesh will handle overflow air.

@@vi683a That's a pretty nice idea you got going there. If you really have that option, I suggest you go for it! I have a friend that used to have a 460X and he said his parts ran hot during gaming load so he switched it up to a more airflow focused case eversince.

While everyone is talking about the mesh side panel, I actually really like the front intake grill design. It's simple and modern, without being boring. HOWEVER, this case is disappointing with the lack of rubber grommets. That's such a small, but important thing IMO.

Its not unusual for manufacturers to rebadge/rebrand the same product to multiple companies. Happens heaps in S.E. Asia.. I built my son a PC, and the case looked like it was missing a hard drive tray.. When I inquired with the company they told me otherwise. I later found an identical case from a different company that had a different use for the area of my inquiry.. So one company put effort into R&D and badged their product, and a 3rd party company came alng, bought the case and rebadged it.. I reckon mesh panels all round are the way to go.. I'm not sick of tempered glass but with thermals an issue, the more airflow the better.. Love yur work..

Totally agree, I'd love to see mid-towers with full mesh BUT also full cover of dust filters, to keeep things impeccable inside. That way, the temperatures would be much lower, so the fans could be slower, so even though the noise would be more audible, there would be less noise, so the final audible noise would be similar or lower. I'm surprised at such high temperature on the CPU. I wouldn't like my CPU above 70ºC, is seems like a bad heatsink. I get 71ºC at full load with my noctua NH-D15, with the heatsink fan at 90%.

Side panel made me think of the Meshlicious. Gives the illusion of a dark tinted glass panel when the lights are on. The rest of looks of this case just doesn't appeal to me as much though. The temps were pretty interesting. I wonder how much positive and negative pressure setups would affect a case with a mesh side panel.

The reason why so many case dont have mesh side panels , is because of positive or negative air pressure , some cases are designed to have the air pressure come into the front of the case and push out to the back or raise out to the top, depending on the case its best to not have air going out in all directions because the cooling wont be as good. case in point a the fractal current case , has a lot of positive pressure pushing the air straight out in the back with no vents on top or sides of the case.
@dreyga2
@dreyga2 3 ай бұрын
really? I have my both intake fans OFF because I installed a side panel as exhaust for the GPU(1080ti). The front fans are too weak to push all that heat from the GPU, unless you like noise. Airflow, air pressure is for boxes not pc cases.

The front fans should exhaust to the front, so the intake is the mesh side. Either that or maybe reverse the exhaust. Either way you'll be cleaning mesh, which isn't so bad, but it might be nice to see which fan config is best for keeping things clean. You could also do a "chimney" effect by exhausting out the top, you don't need fans at the front or back. Hmm.

front intake fans are almost useless because they are far and have obstacles. You want to focus on placing exhaust close to the heat source more than intake. Getting rid of the heat is far more important than intake, airflow and all that crap everyone is talking about.

Meanwhile I'm over here just waiting for a unique case. Nothing unique about this aside from maybe the mesh side panel, just more of the same. Oversized for what it holds, no opticals, hardly any hdd support, 2 hdd's crammed in the bottom with the psu, a shroud and room for everyone to water cool their 3060's and i3's. More regurgitation of the same. Consider the pointlessness of these mid tower atx cases. They support full atx and eatx. A number of recent boards and brand new boards in the atx form factor, z690, z790, x570 with 6-8 sata headers. These aren't even eatx boards or something 'rare'. And what do people attach to sata? Optical drives, hdd's, ssd's. So where do you put all the drives these boards support? Where's the option? There is none. If they're going to gimp everyone to 2 hdd's and 2 ssd's, just make the case smaller, matx/itx only and call it a day. Thanks to the lack of creativity in cases the past few years, may as well just use a laptop. They're forcing everyone to go with external devices anyway. It just makes no sense. People can argue some don't use those things anymore. Well there's this handy method of using screws that make unwanted components removable. Let the user decide. If they have no need for odd's or hdd's, pull the mounts. Make room for all those aio's. Whatever happened to giving users a choice of fans? Front, top and rear mounts were 120/140mm compatible for years, suddenly nope, 120mm is all you get. Or you get the corsair 4000d which offers you 140mm front mounts but not really because the front mount plate has been sculpted for 120mm. What will the future bring, further regression to 92mm or 60mm? As cases get more and more expensive easily running $100-200usd it's kind of becoming a pisser that half the crap that once lived inside a pc case is now homeless. The hobo design. So I have to get a case that's larger than they were 10-15yrs ago and spend $160 on the case. But now because it's become so dysfunctional, I have to spend another amount and start stacking external drives on the desk next to the case. Or Spend another $90-160+ for a simple 2-4 bay external enclosure which requires its own power cable. And another $60+ on an external odd enclosure which yet again, adds another dedicated power cable and more junk on the desk. How modern. So now I've bought over $300 worth of crap that's cluttering the desk, taking up 3 outlets on the surge protector when it all could have just as easily fit in the damn pc case. Powered by, get this - the power supply. They cost a small fortune and have all the functionality of cheapy run of the mill $40-50 case from inwin 2 decades ago. Awesome. If you did want to run say 4hdd's for the storage space in raid 10 in a mirrored/striped combo you're left with very few options. Something like a Thermaltake core w100/200 I suppose, $400+ cases with room for 10-20+ drives. Which seems a tad overkill, having to choose between 2 and 10. Absolutely nothing inspired out of any of these modern cases (except maybe the hyte or tt tower). Everything crammed under a psu shroud, lots of rgb, mesh and call it a day. If they're going to take away everything because 'fewcher', then do it. Build a case the size of the motherboard, a pass through slot that lets the gpu hang out. No more size conflict. A couple external braces for the rads to attach on the outside of the case. People can just use nvme's, no need for ssd's anymore either. At least make it compact and make it make sense. And no bitching from the crowd that says hdd's have no place when their cheaper ssd's are shut out too. Pcie gen 4 or go home. Ssd's are 'old'. 4-8tb nvme's exist and they're only $530-1500 each, ssd's are pointless now. There's no reason people couldn't have 24tb of storage without even touching a sata cable these days. It'll just add $3500 to the build that's all.
