My brother would be about your age. He died in 2020, having never embraced sobriety as an answer to his troubled soul. Please keep doing what you are doing! It will inspire others.

@@Destin60-hm2sh thank you! My brother was brilliant and charming, to his detriment. His pride and ego stood in the way of acquiring humility. Stay on your path of recovery and helping others. Its the only option. Best wishes!

So, Sorry to hear about your brother. I lost mine also a few years ago to the poison that is alcohol. He did make it one year sober, then started drinking beer daily again. His liver shut down and he died within a week waiting on a liver transplant that was never going to come..

@@djvision7399 I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you went through the rollercoaster of emotions with him which is so stressful. My brother spent 25 years in and out of detox/rehab, in and out of school, in and out of work, in and out of many residential halfway houses, in and out of bars, etc... He was estranged from his family for the last years of his life. He was my favorite person, but ultimately refused to take responsibility and grow up. It was a tragic waste of his life, but I am glad he is no longer suffering.

From people with addiction problems, they say that you have to change your circle of friends. You cannot hang with those who drink, smoke weed, snort.... Gotta say goodbye to them. Not easy.

I'm following you closely! I left a couple bad habits behind recently due to heath reasons. These days, at 47 years old, I am riding my bike as much as possible. 10-12 miles each ride! It's really helping my mental attitude and curbing my anxiety. Trying to make better choices. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! ♥

I raced road bikes in college, and I was lean and mean. Diet and a aerobic exercise you enjoy like running on that beautiful beach will get you where you want to be. My life is improving slowly.

I just subscribed and look forward to your journey. I’m a few years older than you and have gotten back into the gym more regularly a few months ago, and a couple weeks back stopped drinking cold turkey. I was in the gray drinking area, but knew at this stage of my life it would not serve me well in all aspects of a newly retired life. Howdy from Palm Springs🌴🌵California 👋🏻

8/27 of this year will be 2 years for me And still struggle with it on a daily to stay straight. It took a year of off and on to get this far, now if I could stay motivated to get healthy
