THE FIX WAS ALWAYS IN with Memphis Police Officer Demetrius Haley Prior Complaint

Cordarlrius Sledge filed a complaint against Demetrius Haley and two other corrections employees for an incident that occurred in 2015. Unfortunately for Mr. Sledge, Mr. Sledge did not properly file a grievance according to prison policy. He failed to exhaust his administrative remedies (aka the grievance procedure that was available in prison), so Demetrius Haley was able to get the complaint dismissed.
The Prison Litigation Reform Act requires that a prisoner follow the prison's in-house grievance policy before filing a complaint.

He was in a prison infirmary for sixty days. The games that they play so you can’t foul a complaint. There should be a law forcing the prison to report every situation that occurs when an inmate has to be hospitalized for longer than fourteen days.

Exactly. Just like these criminal cops, if they don't go to jail but are simply fired, they just transfer to a different police department somewhere else and start all over again. Same thing happens with the police chiefs. Cops , police departments, and police unions who have a history of protecting criminal cops are all basically corrupt. And it's hard to believe that the mayor of Memphis who hired her for the MPD chief position didn't know about her history.

The fact police officer Haley’s had been a correctional officer in the past says a lot about how Tyre’s assault was handled and performed because it is known that corrections officers retaliate and band together to gets prisoners. The way that those officers pulled Tyre up from the ground to stand him up and continue beating him was done like a gang would do. And when Tyre was on the ground being beaten and they stopped to pepper spray Tyre was also an act that corrections officers might pull.

I filed a complaint against officer Taylor in Pasco Washington. Upon exiting the building I was assaulted by 2 officers in front of 3 independent witnesses . Redressment of a grievance without fear of reprisal first amendment. Carry weapons prepare to fight our future depends on it

I know first hand about the (Prison Litigation Reform Act), I have had my share of wins and losses. I took one of my cases up to the U.S. Supreme Court , Hickman v. Moya . In situations like this one must, I say must jump through those exhaustion of administrative remedies. The Reform Act was put in place to cut down of multiple law suits filed my inmates. People like Mr. Sledge suffer because of this. If the statue of limitations is not up he may go back and challenge the grievance process if he was prevented from accessing the process. The 30 day aspect may be defeated by demonstrating inability to access the process. Some of these things are a long shot but, I found a way by going after them by another cause of action in even grieving a medical condition not known at the time but was a result thereof.

So many people who are locked up rarely file complaints against each other or COs. There is an unofficial set of rules about narcing. The fact that this incident was not only reported by the victim but was also supported by MANY other witnesses let’s me know just how bad it really was. It is sometimes hard for people who have never been locked up to understand the situation. The fact is that even prisoners have Civil Rights. Those rights apply to both the best and worst of us. That is what true freedom means. The Eighth Amendment protects us from cruel and unusual punishment.

The law is complex and over all the updated revisions are to cover the judicial system butts . An average citizen has to do many hours of research just to get a little comprehension of the language structure . A lawyer just breeze's through it because they have gone through law school . Learned how to look up the USC , CFR etc ..... Other prior cases can be used for a tort proceeding .
