So the film begins with the logos for both Warner Brothers and DC. But to play on the time travel nature of this story, we see past versions of the logos morphing into new versions until reaching their present day designs.
The opening scene of the film is very reminiscent of this deleted Flash scene from the Snyder Cut of the Justice League. The scene even opens with Barry saying how late he is, just like in the Snyder Cut. [clip]
The film opening with Barry being late to work reminds me a lot of the opening to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. Peter is late to work because of the responsibilities of being Spider-Man. But what makes Barry being late even more poetic is that he’s the fastest man alive but he’s STILL late.
We see Barry look down at his watch which is giving him a low calorie alert. This is a reference to his very fast metabolism and how he requires a lot of sustenance to maintain his super speed. [clip, justice league, flash “I need to eat, go find alfred in the pantry”]
Barry’s phone rings and we see Alfred’s name along with an animated Butler picture that looks a lot like the Alfred from Batman the Animated Series. We then get the triumphant return of Jeremy Irons Alfred Pennyworth.
He’s calling Barry to let him know that Batman needs a hand. We then hear Barry ask Alfred why Superman or Wonder Woman or any other members of the Justice League can’t come help. Alfred says that Superman is busy and Wonder Woman can’t be reached. Similar to this scene in Far From Home. [clip, Peter asking Furry about other heroes]
We get a brief glimpse of Henry Cavill’s Superman fighting a volcano, but we don’t see his face. Likely because Cavill is out as the Man of Steel, something Colton is still crying about.
We then see Barry make his way to the bathroom to change, well not so much to change, he could change so fast no one would even notice. But more so to make it look like he didn’t vanish from thin air when he speeds away.
After he suits up we hear for the first time in DCEU history Bary referred to as “The Flash.” [clip]
And we actually already saw where Barry got the idea to call himself The Flash over in the CW’s DC Universe when Ezra Miller’s Flash made a cameo alongside Grant Guston’s Flash. [clip]
Notice that this girl who is a huge flash fan, is actually wearing two flash pins on her jacket. She’s actually secret casting of another speedster from the comics who might get powers in a future movie, this is your mom.
Barry runs from Central City to Gotham City to help Batman. In the comics Central City is the Gotham City to Barry’s Batman or the Metropolis to his Superman, it’s his own fictional city. And speaking of Superman, this scene of Barry running across different terrains was very reminiscent of Superman’s first flight in Man of Steel. [clip]
So the skinny of it is that a deadly virus has been stolen by some bad guys. A virus that could wipe out a significant portion of the population.
We then see Ben Affleck’s Batman pursuing the bad guys on his batcycle. This batcycle looks very similar to the batpod from Nolan’s Dark Knight films. Difference being that the batpod had 2 fat tires. Whereas the Batfleck batcycle has dual tires in the front and one fat tire in the back.
Barry asks why Batman seems to be fleeing the scene and he explains to Barry that he’s chasing the bad guys and that he needs Barry to save the people in the hospital. When mentioning the bad guys we hear Batman refer to “Falcone’s idiot kid” being the leader of this robbery gone wrong.
Falcone is a classic mob boss Batman villain that we’ve seen in prior films like Batman Begins and The Batman. [clip]
Now in typical Batfleck fashion we see Batman using guns. These guns are connected to his bike, but in his defense the “no killing” Bail Batman also had guns on his batpod.

You forgot that in this movie when flash 1 is killing Zod's soldiers on the battleground, he uses his phase ability to kill them with his hand. In the flash show, Eobard Thawn would be the one using this move to torture and kill the heroes.

I find it interesting how they adapted the events of Flash Point for the DC film universe using elements also from the CW timeline. That's mostly what we're hinting at.

When Ezra says I've got to save you and Bruce is like "you already have" I think it had multiple meta meanings, in the movie he brought Batman back on the frontlines and gave his life meaning again, but also he'd gone back in time and saved him from the ships shields once already so perhaps Bruce worked out that he'd used timetravel again to save him, AND in the real world the Flash movie brought Keaton's Batman back so it works in a meta way also!

Yeah... Keaton IS Batman. This movie just corroborated what I've known since 1989. It literally BROKE me with that convo... When Flash told him "I can't bring you back again, right?" And Keaton says "you already have". It hit me that THIS was the LAST TIME I'll be seeing Keatons Batman. I have to be honest, I don't care for comic books and much less for comic book movies. But the Burton/Keaton films are something else. (Yeah, I'm "old")

You mentioned a few cw references on your videos out so far, but one I noticed right away is that when Barry gets punched put of the speed force, straight away I though it looked just like Savitar from CW the flash, where the villain savitar is an evil flash from the future where he couldn't save Iris, and in doing so goes back in time becomes savitar and kills the current timeline's iris to turn that Barry into the next savitar so he is an evil flash caught in a loop going through time which is actually what ends up happening with Barry 2, until the younger version of him breaks the cycle sacrificing his life

"The Lord of the Rings" reference was about the inscription carved on The One Ring's surface, which was then cited by Gandalf during the council in Rivendell (shown in director's cut, if I remember correctly). It started with "Ash nazg durbatulûk" and in the scene, in which Barry 1 gives his ring to Barry 2, the latter was also citing part of that inscription - and definitely not with Gollum's voice :)

There he's surrounded by all his past/future like a menu where he can choose which go direction to go to and thus creating a new line where it intersects at the point in time where he chose to meddle with.

It seems that Batman's age is not a fixed point in any timeline and thus he can be older or younger at any universe.

@@miguelabad210 they didn't point out the specific age but I think they made it clear that Keaton's Batman is older than Batfleck. Don't know if you remember, but in the scene where Keaton's Batman first met the two Barrys, the older Barry realized that his changing the recent past (as in putting the tomato can in his mom's shopping cart) also affected the more distant past (Bruce Wayne's date of birth), thereby making Batman older than the the one played by Affleck (the older Barry even used a wooden spatula as a visual for this). He also said that the Bruce Wayne in this new timeline is "chronologically different" from the Batman he knew, with the younger Barry claiming that what the older Barry meant was that Bruce is older in this timeline.

I really love how Barry deals with his powers in the movie, especially when it shows he needs enough calories while saving people and the way he uses his powers on the battlefield, it’s just some small fun superhero quirks that make them more unique(like remember Clark’s beard is so thick that he has to trim it with his heat vision through mirror)

The set photos also had Sasha Calle as Supergirl at the very end. Rumor was that Keaton was going to be the new Batman of the DCEU and Calle was going to replace Cavill. This would have led into the Batgirl movie and explain JK Simmons playing Gordon like he did in Justice League. Some of the test screenings last year kept in Keaton but removed Supergirl, probably because they thought Cavill would be coming back due to Black Adam.

At 7:28 when you talk about the objects going blue it's not because of the speed force but after a real phenomenon that happens when particles or objects in this case surpass the speed of light in a certain medium resulting in a flash of blue light known as Cherenkov Radiation which signifies that the objects barry moves around are moving at FTL speeds, however this also means that the objects are not protected by his speed force aura but at the same time the fact that the objects are not getting obliterated instantly and the fact that no baby got any radiation burns due to the intensity of the Cherenkov radiation (which is ionising) suggests that these objects might be going in and out of his speed force aura both being protected by it and at the same time feeling the effects of the real world.

he was too busy saving people... remember, the babies weren't the only people he saved, he was busy before that too. Plus if they escaped Batman, Flash would still be able to catch them with ease... but saving lives takes priority. If he had went after the bad guys he might not have made it back in time to save the babies themselves (he is still late all the time after all and most of them would've been crushed or burned or stabbed before even hitting the street)

Two things that I'd like to point out. 1. CCPD in the movie looks verily similar to the CCPD building in the Arrowverse. 2. Eric Stoltz also played Marty McFly in the alternate reality in the series Fringe. This again is a call back to the Arrowverse. In Flash season 2, Cisco works on the machine to give Barry his powers back. Cisco refers to the machine as "The Vacuum." When this is met with confusion Cisco says, "Alright...No Fringe on Earth 2." Also, Dark Flash is the Savitar story line from Arrowverse Season 3.

At 21:48 you missed a major easter egg.. the poster of a Monkey like figure carrying a mountain on his wall is a very revered Hindu God "Lord Hanuman". He is a metaphor to the "Monkey" his mom used to call him plus Lord hanuman has superpowers very close to superman+flash.

One of the things in the film that bugged me is how the Flash can basically go to the past, and didn’t bother to see who killed his mom. Granted while watching this video, it seems that he can only see stuff that happened in the past if he was around the general vicinity. However, I just realized that Barry Allen was in the house where his mother was killed and young Barry was nowhere to be seen when adult Barry Allen visited his mom one last time. As such, couldn't the Flash see who killed his mother or did the door being closed in his room prevented adult, time-traveling Flash to see it?

1. It had to be reverse flash... because hes basically the joker to batman. 2. It's irrelevant... if you can prevent a crime from happening then it doesn't matter who did it. Whats explained in tv show is that it has to happen and it'll always happen whether in that time or another

I remember now when Bruce got paralyzed in the comics: Alfred was saying to Timothy(the new Robin back then)how he had helped Bruce heal, repaired his body countless times but….what Bane had done to him was beyond his expertise. Keaton's Batman was obviously on another version of Earth (hence no Superman there) than the Earth of the Snyderverse. if you mean the universe that we saw Jay Garrick in wasn't the Arrowverse you'd be correct it isn't the Arrowverse its the universe of George Reeve's Superman from the Adventures of Superman show from way back when. I'm guessing they used Teddy Sears Jay because they wanted it to be a sort of golden age dc earth.

I loved the entire movie except for the ending. No hate for Clooney, but come on, he is not batman. And it is a shame that the Keaton ending was not used and we never get to see the Batgirl movie with him playing Batman and mentoring Batgirl. Also, according to the rumours, there was originally a post credit scene with Batfleck sending a video message to Barry about his whereabouts (in the multiverse). I really hope we get to see him, too, one last time in Aquaman or in another DC project. He has been a great Batman.

This movie is so good. The only thing I wish they would have done is kept the original ending with Keaton and Kara being outside the courthouse that would have been a way better ending. Also, can anybody talk about the biggest plot hole which is who killed Barry's mom then? And there was a clear attraction between Barry and Kara that could have been explored in a sequel had they kept the original ending.

The Clooney thing is bizarre and makes no sense. It's clearly a late decision because they didn't know what to do and had weird edicts from the studio That's not a plot hole. It's just an unanswered question. It doesn't break the story in any way

Michael Keaton was underutilized, Supergirl was there for no reason, Batfleck was basically the Whedon Batfleck for the action scenes, no Henry Cavill (not including that rubbery one), the wonder woman cameo for those simps, stupid post credit scenes, shitty CGI. The only good thing was the speed force cameos.

Man everything is multiverse now, I finally got Bayonetta 3 and that's also a multiverse story, when you start a mission you get a graphic showing you what universe you're in and sometimes see some snipets of events of that universe, like I think "canon events" like Jeanne sacrificing herself to save Cereza, it drives me crazy, all I can think of is Miguel O'hara with his Blade Runner like themse song saying, "It's a canon event".

I loved this movie. The criticism it’s getting for the CGI is unfair as it barely hampers the great storyline and acting performances. My one is issue though is I wish they showed how his mom died. It would have been very deep to learn that it may have been Barry himself (to save the timeline) or the dark version of him. Maybe that was too dark for the producers and they removed it ?
