Every day is so difficult to be wise and not loose heart. Just as Paul says it’s a marathon. When we run there are times of euphoria, pain, and just wanting to stop. But when you finish you feel so much better.

I think it is a funny statement that the PRIDE of SOLOMON said - look at how many women I control ... yet his own LUST for them, controlled him, and took him away far from God, to ignore Him (who gave him everything - after all the dead don't give, and David was dead, and the dead don't maintain - it was God all along - seeing how He would use that gift of wisdom) ... up until maybe the very end, where maybe in the last words of his journal He may have realized what was important, maybe repented (I wasn't there) FEAR GOD, OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS. I would hope by the Grace and Mercy of God we get to see David and Solomon one day in Heaven, yet greater than all those are the One we really want to see and fellowship with is now and always - Jesus.

the cheerful end - would be our boast in God's GRACE and Mercy, look at the end of the life of Samson he repented, God used Him God had so much more for him but sometimes we choose foolishly to our own demise smart or stupid weak or strong

a sad but true oxymoron ~ for all the wisdom Solomon had, didn't he know that for a man to be dedicated to one woman, it may take up nearly all his time, energy, with a laundry list to follow. Most married men thank God they can make thru this life with one marriage successfully, but when your EYE wanders ~ you will LOSE CONTROL (just ask Samson, the strongest man) - no match. The devil knows how to tempt, the curve, the smile, the soft touch, the beauty, and then the heart is enticed to GO AFTER what it DESIRES. So so important young men, and young women, that GOD be your anchor and focus especially during the younger years 15-50 the created is magnificent, perfect in many ways (outside of sin nature) yet, if we ignore THE CREATOR - who is IMMENSELY more POWERFUL and BEAUTIFUL to make such a creature (out of dust), I think it would behoove us, to put the candy down for now, and follow Him. Ford used to say, they have a better plan, well God does too, and it's not for you to be hurt, or to have your head turning in 23,000 directions Trust Him today

When your Mom (who consented) is Bathsheba, and your dad (who took leisure over duty & killed to cover it up) is David, your parents are not exactly the best example here, in a lavish lifestyle of allowances and indulgences to decadent things. Nothing withheld from a child, is a certain recipe for sure disaster. Yes Solomon later became a man and had to make a decision he like many chooses poorly. May God rescue us from ourselves in temptation.

I have a question 🙋🏽‍♂️. Didn’t solomon repent (or express his repentance) in the book of Ecclesiastes? I know in the new testament some people repented not by their words but with their actions (correct me if i’m wrong PLEASE. I think it was the woman who washed Jesus feet with her hair and perfume) I thought that the book of Ecclesiastes was after all that he had done which is why he speaks the way he speaks and says the things he says in that book.

You are correct. Ecclesiastes seems to end with Solomon coming out on the right end of things. But the record of his life in Kings leaves his story in a not good place.

SIN is no respecter of PERSONS and there are no EXCEPTIONS to its painful consequences God loves you brother/sister but He does not look the other way at sin nor put His Seal of Good Housekeeping on it

David gave him the kingdom in a time of peace it was his lack of self-control in the name of alliances that became his downfall and Israel's division and undoing and - when your leader is a bad example how many people justify their own lives in that excuse of a bad example just like the HS days of Ozzie and Harriet, Father Knows Best, well Charlie down the street is allowed to do it ... just takes a little sin, to ruin the whole bunch

O Solomon! I had such high hopes for him after so many Kings that failed! He did so much good!!!! Then women….lust….how any sin can bring down even the wisest! 🙏🏼❤️🫶🏻
