The Forbidden MKDS Course Might Come to Tour

Talk about a surprise. DS Dokan Course, a track that I thought was never meant to be shown off to the public, might just be on its way to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Or not. We'll go over what this new course actually is, and if it means anything in the grand scheme of things. Regardless of outcome though, it is insane that this was even a valid video topic. If I showed myself this thumbnail a week ago, I would've laughed and called it fake. Speaking of which, it seems I made the exact same thumbnail as Mankalor on accident. Woops. It was stated by a dataminer by Koopavocelot that Piranha Plant Pipeline’s internal code name is New_Gmob_Dokan. So mobDK is confirmed to be Piranha Plant Pipeline. I also wanted a Daisy Kingdom based track, but we got Daisy Cruiser, one thing that was in my Wave 5 predictions, so I’m happy!

I think it was obvious that mobDK is this since the unused course in Mario Kart DS was dokan course.

Looking at it, sadly I don't think the layout will be actually super close to Dokan course. Especially given the space after the entrance doesn’t really allow for the track circling over the top of itself like OG Dokan, given it goes into terrain (unless it cuts deep underground). Still, the fact that even while enclosed it has those double halfpipe-like turns, it does honestly feel like the spirit of Dokan course will live on through this idea. I'm extra excited for the possibility of it being in MK8D though, because my dream for a while has been anti-gravity used like Galaxy 2 Tall Trunk Slide, being able to go on all sides of a pipe! But I think the funniest thing is the possibility that Dokan course has a closer remake to the original than Sky Garden LMAO

Yeah that is insane. And I totally thought about Tall Trunk when thinking about how this course would play too, though I doubt they actually do that fully. Who knows though!

I wish we got that Nokonoko/Split-Up Beach course from MKDS in some form as well (or maybe a garage track like the one that was planned for MK64 lol)

I hope they keep doing this for more cut tracks. Dokan_Course looks very nice in its new form. Can’t wait to see if they ever try and use the Parking Lot track, Nokonoko Beach or even Choco Island 3.

I think people might be looking too much into it tbh like the DS course was probably a idea originally but left it as a test course once they had other ideas. It could have been repurposed but its too different but then again it was a DS course which wasnt finished. I think this pipeline course is probably MobDK in the files and like a fellow commenter said its internal codename is New_Gmob_Dokan which probably stands for new Game Mobile Piranha i think? So a course from Tour with Piranha Plants involved

I hear somewhere that a pink Star asset was in tour files, so unless pipeline uses it it may be sued for that last course, now that tour got the update who knows, maybe a new id has been open or new assets are in the files

Dokan Course was unfinished, but it's clear the concept is there, they share the beginning and ending. Of course changes had to be made, otherwise the track layout would've been exactly the same as 3DS Toad Circuit.
