🌍 Dinosaurs, those majestic reptiles of the Mesozoic era, continue to capture the imagination of scientists and prehistory enthusiasts around the world. Particularly fascinating is the Triassic era, when the first true dinosaurs appeared. Dating from around 250 to 200 million years ago, the Triassic marks the beginning of an era in which the diversity of life on Earth expanded spectacularly after the mass extinction of the Permian-Triassic. This environmental cataclysm, one of the largest mass extinctions in Earth's history, paved the way for the emergence of the dinosaurs, which would go on to become our planet's dominant creatures.
The Triassic is divided into three periods: the Lower Triassic, the Middle Triassic and the Upper Triassic, each characterized by unique developments in both fauna and flora. It was during this period that the supercontinent Pangea began to fracture, leading to significant climatic changes that influenced the evolution of the first dinosaurs. Climates ranging from dry and arid to temperate and humid in different parts of the continent enabled a wide variety of adaptations and evolutions.
Fossils discovered in the Triassic period give us a fascinating insight into these early dinosaurs. Genera such as Herrerasaurus and Coelophysis show us agile bipedal creatures, contrasting with gigantic sauropodomorphs such as Plateosaurus, whose size and structure suggest a predominantly herbivorous diet. These discoveries are crucial to understanding how dinosaurs managed to become the dominant land animals during the Jurassic and Cretaceous, succeeding the Triassic. Studying the Triassic is essential not only for understanding the origin and evolution of dinosaurs, but also for grasping the ecological and climatic dynamics that shaped life on Earth at this time.
🔥 As a reminder, videos are released on SUNDAYS at 9:00 pm.
-------------------------
💥The Triassic and the dinosaurs:
- So here we are 250 million years ago. The Permian is closing its doors, while the Triassic is opening wide.
The extinction has left deep scars all over the Earth's surface, not least in the vast ocean that covers most of the globe. Neither Pangea nor Panthalassa were spared the multiple upheavals that marked the Upper Permian.
Life seems to have stopped there.
After a few million years, however, the vegetation cover helped animals to repopulate the land.
First of all, the few survivors of the Great Extinction were given free reign to conquer larger territories on this vast land, which seemed virtually untouched by ecosystems. They settle in new ecological niches left vacant after the disappearance of previous living beings. This gives them the opportunity to diversify at will and rebuild the living world.
Rebuild, but also renew and diversify. Indeed, the surviving species are far from being the only ones to populate the earth. New species enrich the various ecosystems.
This is known as radiation or speciation. Species will evolve to adapt to their new environment and occupy the places left vacant since the chaos of the Permian.
But, before we meet these species, even if I can imagine your curiosity and impatience, we need to know what we're getting into. Before we talk about the characters in our Triassic play, we need to know the context in which they evolve if we are to understand all that's at stake.
What's the Earth like at this point in our history? What's the weather like?

And there is that awful bot narrator again. I can't stand listening to the crazy enunciations! It doesn't matter how great the script/content is if it is painful and annoying to listen to. This is at least the third video in a row with this fatal flaw. With so many people complaining about it, why do you keep using it? I think it's time to unsubscribe. And to be clear the unsubscribing is ONLY because of the bot narrator. Seriously. Get rid of it!

Makes me wonder how life is gonna look in millions of years, will they look like they did millions of years ago or will evolution won't repeat itself and create a whole different type of looking species. If that's the case makes me wonder when humans are gone what will the next intelligent species look like if evolution doesn't repeat itself.

Not sure what your accent is, but its rather good from a documentary perspective, its the endings of sentences, so clearly you are not an AI (lol), you lack the usual American accent AQI (American question intonation). I'd say unique.... similar to how we all know a British accent right, but an Attenborough accent is much, much different, unique even. Its very good... from an explanatory perspective, one of the main assets of this channel.... DO NOT get a throat infection! DO however speed up, you can move up 50% in speed I think... far too drawl. Man I haven't even mentioned the content yet... But you're voice is the thing that stands out. I see other complaining, and by the way I'm Irish not American so maybe its that? Anyway do yourself a favor, download audacity and fiddle about with the speed of playback. Then go to eleven labs and clone your voice, you can use this to see increases in speed too. I'd recommend a 50% increase in speed of delivery. I could be wrong.
