Conventual Franciscans used to sing the whole office recto tono, and mass was always a low mass unless they were stationed at a parish. On feasts, they would celebrate a low mass with incense. When the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate were founded, they had an indult to celebrate solemn masses. The movements done during mass are also unique, those in choir kneeling for most of the mass except for the epistle gradual alleluia and sermon, and prostrating from the sanctus to the paternoster.

It is very sad… I’d argue that they were the order hit the hardest during the 70s onwards. Saint Dominic and Saint Francis, pray for us.

Dowry Of Mary Very much so. I have dedicated my youtube channel to promoting traditional Francsican theology which pretty much entirely died off. The Seraphicum, which had such great professors as St. Maximilian Kolbe, now even openly promotes Freemasonry. The FI who you mentioned in your video have done a good job at trying to resurrect traditional Franciscan theology.

It depends on the branch, the capuchins & conventual Franciscans are more traditional than the minor orders. I’m near Baltimore MD & quiet a few parishes in the city are run by the Conventual Franciscans.

Could this also be the customs that Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres and other foundresses of the Conceptionist convent in Quito, Ecuador were exposed to, before the spiritual direction of the Franciscans were replaced by the diocesan clergy? May the Virgin of Good Success pray for our Church. May Mother Mariana intercede for our Church.

Capuchins also plainly recited the divine office early in their history. Conventuals had indults to use birettas and the conventual minister general wore a mantelleta over his habit while in Rome. The observants wore a special amice that covered their cowl and used their cowl as the standin for the biretta while capuchins just wore the amice over their hood and didn’t use any headdress
