So many Fratellis songs have that great quiet devastating shift in the middle (like Starcrossed Losers) but this is the best one. And then "If you hear the music, say yes -- "

My favorite band of the last 10 years (Yes I was 15 before I truly appreciated how great they are). I always thought it was a shame how criminally underrated they are considering the music they produce is leaps and bounds better than the drone of most charting music. But I must admit going to see them in a relatively small venue with just a few hundred other fans is really great and I look forward to doing so for a 3rd time next year, and it's really exciting when you hear someone playing one of their songs that isn't Chelsea Dagger or Whistle For the Choir. I hope they continue to release new albums, each with a vastly different sound, for many years to come. Mon the Fratellis

Anyone else get emotional during the breakdown (I can hear the music...say yes)? I imagine after everything we've been through, seeing The Fratellis live and them opening with this song and the packed crowd shouting back "Yes!" with tears in everyones eyes.

This is absolutely bloody marvellous, and the section from 2.30 - 4.09 would make Neil Diamond very proud :-). Many bands evolve their sound, but doing it in a way that sounds this good takes some doing!

Earlier this week I came across this song on iTunes by chance. Wasn’t familiar with the band at all and pressed play not really expecting much, but who knows? What a brilliant surprise I stumbled onto! This is a great song! And so is the rest of the Album and, as I discovered over the next few days, so is their entire back catalog!

If I understand this song correctly (and I probably don't) they were all having an orgy but when the lights came up they realized there was no girl, and for a moment they felt betrayed, but then one guy was like "Hey, it was working before, so who cares?" Then they all got down to the Cinderella Quickstep.
