Love your style Fred. I can’t wait to get my XT5. Really like that you are a visual storyteller and not a photographer. Thanks for the confidence about using the old lenses.

Thank you so much for the feedback Karin! I am happy to hear my videos are inspiring you to go out and try different combinations. I am sure you will love your new X-T5. Did you go for black or silver?

I shoot the 100-400, right now I"m using an X-T2 and I'm blown away with the images, Do you ever shoot with the longer lenses?

My Nikon Full Frame gives me sharper-more clinical images but I use my fuji XT3, 100v, and now XT5 most of the time - like 70-75 %. Fuji films feels (not just the look) more normal to life... and its colors are simply fantastic! Nice Video--Thank You Fred.

I agree that other cameras provide more sharpness, and dynamic range, but man, there's something about those Fuji colours and the way to operate the cameras that makes us come back to it again and again :-) Happy shooting!

Thanks for the video I stumbled across this. I’ve had my XT5 now for about six months and I absolutely love it. I mean issue landscapes and I have really benefited from this camera. It has really good dynamic range for a crop sensor camera and I came from a full frame, Nikon camera I did I switch to a Fuji XT5. Well it was economics as in size and I wanted a lighter camera to carry on my height is something that still had high megapixels, and also had lots of controllable features which this game with us. I’ve shot a number of different things with it since then… Street Photography portraits and I can honestly say it is brilliant

I agree on the fact that it packs so much for an APSC camera. It has nothing to envy to the full frame market, unless extreme depth of field is your only game! Happy shooting. cheers!

if you combine the electronic shutter and the mechanical one you can go as large as 160 mega-pixels

Nicely done. I’m still on the XT4 but I’ve used the XT5 and I love it but I’m still using the flip screen in the 4 for videos. Great review man, so concise.

40mp makes me think if they could have put in a 10mp mode where they combine 4 pixels into one, for low light scenarios.

I agree with you on the pushing of more and more megapixels. I'd much rather them focus on dynamic range and low light performance if they can.

I’m wondering how far can they push the APSC tech for lowlight and DR. Will be interesting to see what X-Trans 6 will bring

It’s a solid combo. Whether sealed, 24-84mm equivalent « small » and « light » vs full frame options!

Great review Fred ! Small thing but I fully agree with you regarding the screen when it's on the axis of the lens :) I thought it was just me having this issues (messing with my head :) ) Just curious, did you get any overheating warning ? Keep up the good work !
@FredRanger
@FredRanger Жыл бұрын
Thanks my friend! Yes, that centred screen makes a huge difference at least for photos. I didn’t get any overheating issues and I was shooting outside at 30 degrees C. I didn’t do 8K videos though. Cheers!

Would you reco for a wedding and portrait shooter? Debating between this an the HS2/s

Although I’m sure all of these cameras would do an excellent job, I would personally go for the X-H2s for the AF speed and accuracy, smaller file size, ergonomics and lowlight performance (I’m thinking reception, dance floor etc.)

Hey Fred enjoyed the video. What I want to ask is how do you find lightrroom good for Fuji files or is capture One a better choice. Cheers jf
@FredRanger
@FredRanger Жыл бұрын
It used to be the case that Capture One rendered Fujifilm RAF/RAW files better than Lightroom from older sensors. but I have to report that I see absolutely no significant difference or any “worms effect” with these 5th generation X-Trans sensors in Lightroom today.

@@FredRangerI have also noticed a big difference using Lightroom recently. None of the usual problems I have had using Lightroom with Fujifilm RAF files. Thumbs up to Adobe with whatever they have done.

Can someone make a Fujifilm video without mentioning Sony or Canon??!

I tried to love this cam…but Xt5, when both eyes are vsible, 40% of the time focused on the back eye…also the af (with Fujis best LM lenses 23 & 33) with a subject walking towards the camera (in normal speed) showed around 20% sharp images….love fujis rendering for colour, but their af even in xt5 is a disgrace…it detects but doesnt actually autofocus as youd expect it to… And Fujis Bokeh rendering even in their highest end lenses is just dirty often…as i mainly shoot weddings i simply couldnt rely on this system to deliver on a wedding… Also im Not sure if i prefer Nikon or Fuji colour…both are leagues beyond Sony and Canon imo…

I totally get you! I've been shooting with Fuji cameras since the original X-100 came out 13 years ago, and while their autofocus has never been their strong suit, the colors, shooting experience, and film simulations are where Fuji really excels. For those reasons, I also switched to another system when I need highly reliable autofocus.
