Divine Divinity was such a great buy. Little did I know what I was getting myself into at the time but it's amazing to see how far the developers have come and to have literally grown up with the game. It was such an impulse buy I couldn't tell much from the cover or the back but I knew it was isometric and that's all I had cared about at the time. After Mardaneous and Lanilors' little escapade, I was hooked for life

The music/ambience has always been beautiful, a whole element of the world in itself.

It was a much darker premise in the *original* Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. Maybe that's because I was a little kid or maybe it's just more comical now than it was before but the overall vibe behind the games definitely shifted. For better or worse, who knows? 🤷🏿‍♂️

Be thankful! If you look into what happened after DD came out, Larian got screwed out of most of the income from the game, nearly closed their doors, and had to get by on making budget education games and government projects on contract. If Original Sin didn't take off like it did they'd probably be shut down or still just scratching by.

This was the first rpg I ever played. I had an amazing time! Sometimes it got weird when my spells started being hostile to me xD I think I will replay it, this music and voice acting takes me back. I loved the puzzle elements and the lack of handholding in this game.

I always kept my resolution at 720p or 1080p so UI would scale. Even on lower resolutions the game still looks nice. I've always found 1080p to be that sweet spot. I totally am impressed how you can keep up with so much lore in so many different games. I have a consistent tendecy to forget most of the lore for a lot of games.

You make excellent videos and reviews of these classic games. I've played Divine Divinity a few times over the years but never finished.... it's a long game. These old classic CRPGs don't age in my eyes. I take them on their own terms as they are and work or rather play within the terms they set. I find this is the best way to approach games. If you start expecting or wanting things from a game it doesn't have, well you just end up spoiling the game for yourself.

This game is a real hidden gem, an enhanced edition/remaster or straight up remake would be amazing. Maybe expand the story and lore to fit the other games better and fix the annoying final dungeon

Thanks for this. I was playing DD but a ton of technical issues, bugs, and little things about the game hampered my enjoyment of it so I never got to the end (the game also made my CPU have constant temp spikes for some reason). Its nice to get the whole story before moving on to the other games. I hope there's a sequel/spiritual successor/remaster one day because for all the issues I have with the game, the idea of combining Diablo and Ultima is brilliant.

I am a new subscriber so I am just seeing your videos. This game is a blast to play and a lot deeper in story/pilot than it would at first have you believe. It is packed with side quests and there are encounters everywhere. And I love those steel scorpions. This game made me a Larian Studio fan ever since.

I finished my second playthrough in Baldur's Gate 3 and wanted to revisit Divinity: Original Sin 2. After playing a bit it bothered me that I never knew the whole sotry of the Divinity series. So here I am now about to watch the storys of all Divinity games to maybe enjoy Divinity: Original Sin 2 even more

I remember finishing this game around the time it was released but forgot just about everything about it, tried to beat it again for the past week but the constant bugs, Like the imp bug, but with me it did not drop the key that is needed to open the door to the house. I just called it quits for my own sanity and decided to watch this video just to get the story and start playing Beyond divinity.

If you build a character using Hell Spikes you can still cast the spell under Josephine when you’re blinded. Her shield will show you where she is, but yeah blind was so annoying to deal with

I remember playing this years ago cause it was on sale and I thought "Oh cool, an old RPG I can play and I can feel like I'm back in time". Then I died and couldn't figure out how to reload a save lol. I tried playing again recently and the way the camera is angled is I just can't find myself enjoying it. It makes me feel like I'm going to miss something critical to looting or the story. This game could go for a remaster, or reimagining that brings it up to standards and lore standards

More than any other game I feel like this one deserves a remaster or enhanced edition. The digital release history of DD is tragic, they lost the CD with the post-release patched code and ended up using the original day 1 disk code to make the digital version. This means none of Larian's patches made it to the digital release and it's buggy as all hell.

The wizard gets a netherswap-like ability (except it just swaps your position with an enemy), and I have yet to figure out if it's ever worth more than the marvelous swirl attack. That said, the different characters get somewhat different stat increments, so a Wizard will get more mana points from each point in intelligence, the Survivor will get more defense from agility, etc.

You can download DGVoodoo and drop it in the main folder of the game it will run in DirectX 12, the game will look and run ALOT better and smoother.

For final fight with Josephina, I just used curse and poisoned weapon (maxed out, used strongest poison) :3 one curse, then get as many shots in before she gets shield up, then hit her with more curse until I max out the damage she was taking from the poison. Found it waaay easier than the first fight ^^;

I still have a boxed copy of Divine Divinity somewhere. Great game for the time, but I think I would find it frustrating now. Game UX design has come a long way since then.

on my first playthru chose survivor n took your tip of using a bow. Game is hard.. had to download a editor to redistrubute my stat points.. seems u need str for armor or else u will be kitting everything with a bow. And damn the succubus was hard. Just beat her by kitting her n using my survivor skill of crouching to run away n leave her standing there.. run back in range n blast arrows . stand near the healing fountain. Rince and repeat until she died.
