Hi bro. I am Russian and I don't know English well, so I'm sorry in advance for this clumsily written text through a translator. I was greatly inspired by this idea and now I want to repeat your idea only to make the glados a little smaller and with a body. Could you drop the files for 3D printing of the eye. I don't know 3d modeling very well, and even more so how to make an eye design for a glados.I really hope that you will read this and at least answer something.

you can add a small camera to her so she can recognize people. Meta workshop did this for the turret they sent to valve and it could use the camera to track and aim at people with the guns on the side. this way glados can rotate and look at someone. you can also try to get in contact with Ellen McLain to do some custom glados voices, she replies to some fan emails, im sure she'd be interested in this

This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. Aperture Science We do what we must because we can. For the good of all of us. Except the ones who are dead. But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake. And the Science gets done. And you make a neat gun. For the people who are still alive. I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now. Even though you broke my heart. And killed me. And tore me to pieces. And threw every piece into a fire. As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you! Now these points of data make a beautiful line. And we're out of beta. We're releasing on time. So I'm GLaD. I got burned. Think of all the things we learned for the people who are still alive. Go ahead and leave me. I think I prefer to stay inside. Maybe you'll find someone else to help you. Maybe Black Mesa THAT WAS A JOKE. HAHA. FAT CHANCE. Anyway, this cake is great. It's so delicious and moist. Look at me still talking when there's Science to do. When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you. I've experiments to run. There is research to be done. On the people who are still alive. And believe me I am still alive. I'm doing Science and I'm still alive. I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive. While you're dying I'll be still alive. And when you're dead I will be still alive. STILL ALIVE

I kinda think it would be cool if GlaDOS could talk back to you through a Chat AI with her staying in character with something like ChatGPT and then automatically generate her voice through a neural network. It would be amazing if she could keep her sarcastic killer AI vibes while you could use her as a smart home to control home gadgets. Maybe you could take inspiration from projects like Mycroft! And then she could greet you through computer recognition. I just wanna say I think the project you're doing are awesome and you deserve huge props. I work at an AI startup, this would be quite easy with all the open-source AI projects out there. You would simply use a speech to text program, pass it to the OpenAI Completion API, then use text to speech on the response. You would also want to pass it a "meta-prompt" before the user prompt to give GPT an understanding of how it is supposed to respond.

I had started the project of building my own GLaDOS following the files you had posted a while back. They seemed like the older cad files instead of the finished ones so a few parts were missing. Its been fun remodeling the parts that were missing though. Its all 3D printed, and the spacers are made of dowels instead of metal tubing and threading. Still has some weight to it but much lighter. I chose to use a pi3 for controlling the lcd and servos as I had one on hand. You weren't kidding about the price being high though. But with it being all 3D printed, or wood, I was able to cut it down to about $250 in total, but will probably cost more with filler and paint. I still haven't finished modeling her neck assembly after the one you designed. Thank you for your hard work after just mimicking what you created I can appreciate far more the work that went into this. I have my own little bin of bad parts now too.

I have an idea for things to possibly add as suggestions: If you can get sensors for temperature and carbon monoxide you can connect to the Alexa, do, and have the GLaDOS give you the information, with the latter thing being an ACTUAL voiced neurotoxin alert.
@ArcAiN6 Жыл бұрын
First things first, incorporate some sort of acceleration control for all the motors and servos. Ramping up, and down speed at the start and end of travels makes for a much smoother experience, and less "jerky" motions. Hysteresis can be used to your advantage as well in this area. As for added features.. (We all love feature creep) Swapping from a micro-controller to an SBC like a raspberry pi will allow you to exponentially increase the capabilities of the device.. Features such as face / body tracking, facial recognition, gesture recognition are but a few of the features you can add, not to mention vocal commands, and wireless access to the device makes on-the-fly adjustments much easier. For structural stability, you might look at incorporating a weight, or spring tension cantilever system, and weight you can mechanically remove from the servo's load is helpful in lowering the amount of force needed to counteract gravity, cantilever systems area great for this, especially so if you can hide the weights in something like a hollow tube XD
