stefan and stelena. not just romantic stelena but also friendship stelena. when stefan lost pretty much everything in season 3, even though it was against his will and he got in the mess only to protect the two people he loved, damon used that time to sneak up on elena...that was not good of damon. but delena is magical too, like a volcano of passions and desires. everyone likes the damon who is in love with elena, he's the best version of himself. but, let's face it, delena would not exist today without stefan. not many boyfriends send their girlfriends with their lover on a road trip to figure out whom they love. and then at the end let them have their choice. i think stefan is the best thing that ever happened to elena. even when she just ripped out his heart, he was upset, but for a small time. and when she needed someone, stefan was there. he left town when elena made her choice(something damon didn't do), drowned about 10000 times for 3 months, lost his memory because it turns out people think of him only when they need something from him, and still convinced damon and elena to be together(again something damon didn't do). he almost got his brain fried again, cleaning up damon's mess. but at the end, damon did die for his brother. i don't think romantic stelena is happening again, but stefan deserves someone much better than elena, because his only flaw is his inability to handle grief. everything else about stefan is much much better than damon, or matt, or alaric or any guy on the show. damon is like swanky pop music, teens and youngsters love it(even i do!), but stefan is like the slow rock or acoustics, that everyone likes and a hell major lot of people love. i guess it's safe to say i'm team stefan all the way. being a guy, he would definitely be my role model. but when it comes to shipping, im team defan till death.

The only reason why I 'really' couldn't ship Stelena was because it was... too perfect. It was too 'love at first sight,' too 'epic' and 'fated to be.' I feel like the Stelena ship was like two people meeting up, looking at each other hard, talking a little, and acting as if they felt a spark just by the presence of each other. They both felt the same rush, at the same time, which is why they ended up being together in season 1. The thing about Stelena, is that their relationship didn't really develop, or build up. To be honest, Stefan and Elena being together was perfectly fine, they were perfectly happy. But it just didn't seem right. It didn't interest me. I prefer Delena because they actually grew to have chemistry. They actually met like strangers, acted like strangers, grew to hate each other, grew to show care for each other, grew to be (kind of) friends, and honestly their relationship kept going up and down, up and down, and even though it's obviously imperfect - it's real. It's realistic development in a relationship. And one thing I really like about couples, is when their relationship develops in this way. In the end, it's all a matter of preference. Stelena makes sense. Delena makes sense. In the end Stefan, Damon, and Elena all DO love each other. Cruds, they should just have a threesome out of all this insanity

vty Neither pairing is "immature" or "mature." They both have their bumps in the road. But they also both have their reasons as to why they tower over the other pairing. Damon and Elena aren't just sex, just like Stefan and Elena aren't just puppy dog love. When Stefan and Elena met, they didn't really know each other. Stefan was hiding the fact that he was a vampire from her, and was attracted to her in the first place because she looked similar to Katherine. He spied on her, decided to get to know her for the reason that she was the doppelganger, and decided to fall for her with Elena having no clue about any of the doppelganger stuff. That put Stefan in a hole. But of course they grew past that bump in their relationship and continued dating. Which was fine, but just so bland. Like I don't really get their love. And this is all a matter of preference because at this point there's absolutely nothing wrong with their relationship. It's just like... the vampire guy met up with the girl, and they fell in love at first sight, and that love imo just... doesn't last. It's just not real. Love at first sight is not realistic in itself. They're like typical high school lovers that never fight, and never get angry at each other, and it's just so perfect, that it's just unrealistic. This kind of "perfection" doesn't last long in real life. Just way too many high expectations. But the reason why I feel that Damon works better for Elena is because he's just painfully truthful to her. Damon didn't like her because she looked like Katherine, he fell for who she was inside. And it took actual TIME for him to fall in love with her. And love for Damon is very difficult. The love he showed towards Elena was selfless - like Stefan. Except with Damon it's special, because Damon is a selfish person. I really like gradual development in a pairing before it becomes a pairing, and I feel like Damon and Elena got that for 4 whole seasons. Elena's feelings for Damon gradually developed which is why they end up being so real. Elena is a girl who stays in her box, but with Damon she steps out of her box. They change each other which is amazing, because Stelena just kept each other constant. And honestly, constant just is no fun, and that kind of relationship doesn't last IMO Admit it, Delena and Stelena both got the love - in the end it's really a matter of what kind of love story makes more sense to you/intrigues you more. No need to hate on either one of them.

I know guys. I kind of didn't like it that Stefan and Elena broke up cause they had a perfectly perfect relationship going on. And I can definitely see the logic in Stelena. So yeah. Elena obviously doesn't live a normal life, if she's dating vampire, and is already a vampire. So I kind of understand why Delena happened when she became a vampire. Around that point Delena and Stelena were very intertwined, and Elena started to confront her feelings for Damon, that were built up since the beginning of the show. As for Elena's feelings for Stefan, for me it just felt like a constant thing, that doesn't really change or deepen, except that it just IS what it is. Elena loves Stefan, Stefan loves Elena. But they literally just met up, and fell for each other at first sight, like a cutesy little couple. And that's absolutely fine. But it just doesn't work for me, personally. Feelings were bound to change in this show, and they didn't just change in one snap of a finger. There was growth in Elena's feelings. Toward both Damon and Stefan, as well as the whole vampire situation. Gyosh this is giving me a headache... they're just pairings in the end... i swear they're gonna have a threesome in the end... I just watched this series on Netflix for the first time (hi, quarantine) and what struck me was that Stefan and Elena were drawn together because of the whole doppelganger thing, but she and Damon were meant to be together from the get-go. Plus, their explosive chemistry blew up my computer from season 1, episode 2 on. Damon might have started out wanting Katherine, but I think he fell in love with Elena the moment he met her and pursued Katherine because that's what he'd been doing for 160 years and thought that Elena was out of reach. He mourned Katherine for what, half an episode? No, I think the series was all about Damon and Elena finding each other, battling the universe, and staying together no matter what fate threw at them. True love prevailed.

Damon and Elena have felt that connection and chemistry since episode 2. Against everything that everyone has said about him, she still reached out to him numerous times in that first season. Stefan painted him as this horrible person and himself so self righteous but in my eyes having watched the entire series numerous times, Damon has done a lot of selfless things and not taken credit for them and Stefan has killed A LOT of people and been worst than Damon ever has at times. When Elena fell madly in love with Stefan, when you could really see that moment in her eyes, they were at a party in the woods talking about her relationship with Matt and how it wasn't... And Stefan says "Passionate". Then BAM her eyes are glowing and you could tell that she had fallen in love at that moment.. Fast forward a few years to when Damon flashes back to how he actually met her first and he told her that she wanted what everyone wants; PASSION blah blah blah and then he compelled her to get everything that she wants out of life. I truly believe that she fell madly in love with Stefan because she was compelled to find Passion and it was the key word that clicked. Ever since the beginning there has always been an underlying build up of Damon and Elena. Damon did wrong by her by snapping Jeremy's neck, but the way that Stefan treated her was worst than anything that Damon has ever done to her. He always puts her safety first before anyone else. The guy broke his own heart and compelled her to forget that he sais he loves her for his brother to get what he deserves. That's real love.

Stelena was cute and pure, but it was too perfect. Everyone says Damon gives up when it gets hard, but as soon as Stefan saw a change in Elena and her feelings, he stopped loving her. He only loved her when she loved him. Damon loved her when she didn’t love him and when she did. Damon’s love was perhaps the only constant in TVD. His love was truly pure and real. I began to watch the show because of Delena. In 2012 my sister and I began to watch TVD. I didnt know what the heck was going on, however I still shipped delena, and at the time I actually didn't really like the show (mostly because it seemed like Delena was never going to happen) . She stopped watching it and she was my source to it so I stopped watching it as well. Fast forward to 2015. In the end of November 2015 I was on youtube watching Lucaya videos then on the side was a Delena video. So I watched it and was excited to see that they had gotten together. So I began to watch clips and shipping videos of them on youtube until i got my laptop and netflix in december. I watched the whole 6 seasons in a month. after watching all the 6 seasons I rewatched seasons 4-6 two times again because of Delena. The show is soo addicting im about to go watch it on netflix. Riviera Queen You cannot steal someone and force them to love you moron....Elena fell in love with Damon on her own terms...It was a slow process took 3 seasons of unsaid feelings for them to be together. While Stefan is praised for his sacrifice...He had his chance to go back and make it right with Elena....Yet did the exact opposite....He drove her off the bridge her parents died on, threw her cell phone out the window, force fed her his blood and left her stranded....WHO was there for her despite everything? DAMON Damon even pushed Elena towards Stefan in 4x06 and they STILL broke up because they grew apart/Elena had feelings for Damon. Let's not forget how Stefan went behind Elena's back to secretly work with Klaus forcing Jeremy to kill vampires in order to complete his mark based on his fixation with a human Elena....Elena confirmed that Stefan made her feel broken, like a project that needed fixing and it's shown through Stefan trying to force Elena to drink animal blood/no human blood basically trying to turn her into a vampire he could never be....He tried to force his ideal of what vampirism is upon Elena in the most unhealthy way even after she admitted drinking animal blood made her sick. Damon taught Elena the ways of being a vampire....No kills, just snatch, eat and erase and was the only one who was there for her during her transition phase....Listing all of this it should be no wonder why Elena fell in love with Damon. Damon has done the most selfless acts on the show.....He went into a vault not knowing if he would come out just so his brother could spend more time with Caroline when they were heading towards a rocky relationship, the one who originally offered himself to Klaus as part of the sacrifice, repeatedly gave Elena the necklace she called hope for her and Stefan even if it hurt seeing them together, the one who died just so Tyler, Alaric and Stefan + others could come back from the other side risking his future with Elena......Damon never claims to to be a hero nor does he showboat he just gets shit done....You saw how in season 6 neither Stefan or Elena could survive without him while in season 5 with Stefan locked away in a box underwater the whole of Mystic falls was out living their lives, surviving just fine without him...Which proves how Damon is the unsung hero of the series...Not Stefan.

@@samhart4205 I always dislike Damon for pursuing Elena even when he knew what Stefan had sacrifice to keep him alive then Stefan mention to Sybil in s8 that the Miss MF party was the moment Damon realize that he can win Elena's affection so it made me feel like for him it was always a conquest to win her heart no matter what. The worst part in all of these is the fact that Elena let herself fall for Damon. Personally, I feel like Damon's love for Katherine when he was still human is much more real than anything he felt for Elena. Julie Plec mention that Stelena is suppose to be endgame if she had not left the show. I'm a huge Stelena fan but in the end, I'm glad that didn't happen. I just couldn't see them together anymore. That would have made her too indecisive, insensitive and worse than Katherine for stringing brothers along.

@@mgtl100 I do think she was sexually attracted to him. Love? No. She used Damon to gratify herself,she wasn't exactly in the best headspace. Kissing Damon was more of a reflex rather her reciprocating Damon's desires. If she was falling for Damon, I do think she'd have started a relationship with him after Stefan broke it off. It didn't feel right to her, meaning she knew she wasn't in love. Damon definitely loved Kat more. He knew everything about her and yet..He still loved her. There was an obsessive element to their relationship, but I think because Damon and Katherine were horrible people, they were never going to be suited in other relationships. They would always damage other people, screw things up. For Damon, Rose was the exception but other than that, he didn't have anyone who could actually accept his crazy as normal. Not the way Katherine did, because they were practically the same kind of person.

@@sarakennedy2633 You just shat on the whole premise with "endgame since day one." I know DE seems to be your world but don't pretend what SE had was irrelevant or MADE your ship irrelevant. The show was based on a TRIANGLE, but the main story was Stefan and then Stefan being with Elena. It's what the creators had in mind, what the actors believed and LJ confirmed. Just because the show double backed and started to retcon for ironically more views, doesn't take away from the fact Elena wasn't in love with Damon for a good portion of the show. In fact, the use of the sirebond made most viewers doubt DE's relationship and whether there was any love at all. You have your endgame, let's just leave at that.

All i can say is that Nina and Paul look good together so as when they are stefan and elena. They have the chemistry that when they look at each other you also feel the love that they have. Some say it's too perfect. Well, that's why it's called a show. Stelena all the way! Delena? the feeling is lust. Ok,given that Ian is hot and i like him as Damon, he gives justice to his role but then he's not good with elena. Stelena should be the endgame,if not, then i would be much dissapointed with the pairing

This is one of the most amazing videos about tvd that I have ever seen. It truly shows the dynamics of both stelena and delena. In my perosonal opinion Delena is endgame. While stefan and elena both had a sweet love the had mimimal passion and it was very high schooly. On the other side Damon makes her alive and they are romantic and spontaneous. Those who think Stelena was too perfect and too epic have clearly and sadly never experience that kind of love themselves. That OMG moment when two souls fall madly in love with each other, when you cannot believe your luck that someone who is the perfect fit even exists for you, and he loves you . When the man you fell for is not abusive to you, or the ones you love and care for, he doesn't force you or push you to do things his way. Yes, there're obstacles that test your love, mostly people in the outside who will try to split you up. I'd ship Delena, if Damon would've got her fair and square, but the backstabbing to his brother going away with Klaus to save him, and he taking full advantage because he wanted Elena, the threats and times he killed or tried to kill Bonnie, Jeremy and other close people to Elena, it got all too forceful and psycho like for my liking. It just reminds me of all the women who get abused by men who 'love' them everyday because he didn't get the memo, that's not love, it's abuse. It's the kind of stuff you see in the news and read about when women come out with their 'I survived an abusive partner story', and truly they thought they loved the man, even when he would psychologically and physically abused them. I say take the great Katherine Pierce's word and choose Stefan. Cos Katherine knows men, better than any other female character in the series, she's known all kind of men, and knows Stefan is a rare like a coloured diamond, very rare. Most of men are more like Damon, that's probably why more women consider Delena a 'more realistic' relationship. Men who will try to quiet your voice, your decisions will have to get his tick of approval, and you will no longer be your own person, as he'll try to drown that. If you find a Stefan, I say he's a keeper, don't underestimate him, don't think you'll meet two in a lifetime, and don't waste an epic love like that by taking him for granted.

Stefan and Elena would still be 100% in love and Damon and Elena would never have fallen in love. she did choose Stefan first despise what he did I think thats what love is and Delena seems forced.

Ok first, THIS IS AMAZING! I hate to think how much time it took you but it's a work of art, you should be really proud of it. Second, was reading through some comments & I wanted to add why I'm a (huge) Delena fan, Stefan rescues Elena & then gets to know her because she looks like Katherine, I find that a little creepy but moving on. Damon falls for her, not Katherine, the fact she looks like her is irrelevant in my eyes. He came to Mystic Falls to mess with his brother, whoever Stefan had been with, I firmly believe he would've gone after, her appearance is a coincidence. However, Damon likes Elena, they do have something, Stefan sees it too & it takes Elena a bit longer to figure out. By the middle of season one he hates Katherine, he's mad at himself too for being in love with someone all that time for no reason. The show paints Damon often as ruthless, but how do we know, the only reason she survives being fed on by Klaus' is that Damon gave her his blood? Elijah is honourable don't get me wrong but, he doesn't know for sure his elixir would work. He fights for her survival, he literally fights for her, Stefan is younger then Damon, the way I see it is this. Stefan is permanently 17, where as Damon is permanently 25, Elena goes through a hell of a lot as a human, that would have an affect on anyone. She matures faster then perhaps she would normally, ergo, she outgrows Stefan, he's the high-school boyfriend, obviously Stefan has had decades of life experience over Elena I'm not saying he hasn't. There's a line that's so telling about Elena, she's talking to Damon about Rebekah & she says she lost her Mum too young & she loves blindly & recklessly, that is Elena too! The other thing, poor Stef is confined to a 'bunny diet' would he even be strong enough to protect Elena? he needs Damon as his wingman, it was only natural for Elena to care about someone who is always looking out for her, is strong & who can protect her. This could be put down to some sort of Stockholm syndrome so, I was perhaps one of the few happy Elena became a vampire. It kind of pressed reset, Klaus can't use her blood as a vampire & so most of the time, she's safe. People who complain about how Elena runs to Damon for help with her vampirism, she tried it Stefan's way, it didn't work, Stef can't feed on humans so, she's not exactly spoilt for choice about who to ask for help. There's Caroline but she doesn't feed from humans either, this seemed natural to me that Elena would seek Damon out as a kind of Yoda. The Sirebond was a snag but, I maintain she really did feel that way about him, their first meeting she is drawn to him right away, if he had manned up & pursued her before Stefan, I think the conclusion would be the same. When Damon told Elena to switch off her humanity, he fought & fought to get her back, he didn't know how far down the rabbit hole she'd go. He thought he could look after her in New York, rein her in, he was wrong (some of my favourite episodes ever by the way) He tortured her over & over, when I saw that I thought how hard that would be, to love someone that much & have to do that to them but, he did because he knew she was going to self destruct if he didn't. Season 5 Elena didn't need Damon as much, as a vampire she had her own strength, she chose to be with him, he had proved himself, I honestly think the humanity switch thing was what finally pushed Elena to realise, you're like him, you've always been like him, he's the one for you. I like Damon & Stefan as brothers & Elena & Stefan as friends, I did not see any chemistry at all between them when Elena was human (sorry!) Season six for me is where it's getting interesting, it could be argued that the hotel & the first part of season 4 was lust more then love, season 5 she was in love with him but, it was the "honeymoon period" been there! they were together & then they weren't & then they were again, then she lost him & she realised just how much she loved him. This season she's falling for him organically, if you'll forgive the cliché, she has no memory of all the passion they shared, she didn't even like him when he first came back. This to me feels like them building a real relationship, he remembers all the things that went wrong last time, he can prevent it, though it is going very slow, I'm thinking their reunion is going to be so sweet as they've been away from each other so long, I predicted at the start of the season & I appear to have been right. She was going to fall for him & then get her memories back (they were good memories) I hope that's how it plays out.

I won't comment on which ship is better but I really have to disagree with your beginning point itself. Stefan didn't get to Know Elena coz she looked like Kathrine but it was the opposite. At first he thought it was Kathrine who was manipulating (like always) humans by borrowing the identity of a young teenager Elena Gilbert, so to catch her red handed in her act he stalked her ( this part always gets distorted by other shippers) but after he found out that ELENA IS NOTHING LIKE KATHRINE (apart frm the physical appearance) Stefan decides to get to know Elena in a proper way, damn that dude reduced himself to act like a teen, joins school just so that his interest in Elena doesn't change the equation of her world, he wanted Elena to like him on her pace (just like those highschool love).. where as Damon took initial interest in Elena coz he thought she looked like Katherine, Damon is the one who really loved Kathrine to the point that he enjoyed Killing innocent humans while he was a human himself so Kathrine could feed on them, for her he vowed to torture his own brother for eternity, for 100+ yrs he looked everywhere to get any kind of information that could bring back Kathrine from her death.. u cannot just swap the narration and steal Stefan related facts to attach it with damon..

When Damon finally finds out that Katherine is alive but just fooled them he litreally looses his shit..when she appears before him again, he begs her to be with him, he tells her he'll forget every pain she has caused them and is ready to start fresh with her but SHE REJECTS HIM saying that the one she loves is Stefan not Damon..that was the breaking point for DAMON.. he was so devastated that he immideatly goes to the weakest Version of Kathrine ( elena coz she is human) and tries to forcefully kiss her.. it was as if he was venting all his pent up anger infront of Elena (who looks just like Katherine, a perfect replacement) when Elena rejects him he immideatly snaps Jeremy's neck.. It's like even if he can't punish the real one it still gives him sick satisfaction to see someone with Kathrine face suffer..

Elena still has humanity in her where as Kathrine can go to any extent for her survival. I'm not saying it over silly things but it was genuinely toxic even under vampire standards..

"...didn't hide nearly as much as Stefan did..." and stop lying to yourself So yeah I'm still pretty sure unforgivable only relates to Demon in this. And rewatch the show and this time pay attention so next time when you try to correct me or fight me on something you can be well informed.

As much as Damon loved Elena he tried his hardest not to because he loved Stefan and didn't want to hurt him anymore... not only that but he was also battling how he felt about himself too. Deep down he felt that Elena was better off being with Stefan... he said it many times. He finally believed that he was truly loved just before they drove through the Grill. Knowing and loving Elena has changed and helped him in ways that I'm sure he doesn't even know or realize yet. Without her Damon wouldn't have the relationship he now has with Stefan. So yes of course she is the bad guy... but look at all she has done for both Damon and Stefan.

I completely agree! They've all been thru so much together that they would literally do anything for each other and actually they have. It's going to be interesting to see how it unfolds now. Alaric's compulsion should've lifted when he died and became human again. I can't help but wonder how they're going to explain that one. Ill admit, stelena was the obvious choice between seasons one and three. Heck it was the obvious choice since season one. since episode one. since second one. There was no build up, it was just, hi, we're in love now. Damon and Elena's relationship built, and fell. Then they built again, then fell. That is more than love, that's friendship, passion, hate, worry, sorrow. And Stefan and Elena, just went through the love. They never hated each other, and they weren't even friends. They just loved each other. A build up, to me, is better than, Love at first sight.

I know Stefan fell in love with Elena first in all and it was wrong for Damon to fall in love with his brothers girl but Damon and Elena are soul mates. Damon and Elena's love is different Damon makes mistakes he's not all perfect like Stefan but he still loves Elena more than anything. I agree with everything that you said except for "He isn't all perfect like Stefan"... Stefan is anything but perfect. He's done worst things than anyone on the show and blamed it on this and that. The way that he treated Damon time and time again being self righteous with everything that he'd done to Damon, lying to him, betraying his trust every time that Damon put his trust in him, all of that makes him less than Damon in my eyes. Even with all of that I could tolerate him right up until season 3/4 after the ripper bit he jumps right back into being self righteous. The way that he constantly talked down to Damon and pressured Elena into choosing him over Damon knowing that she had feelings for both of them instead of giving her time to figure it out for herself. He even used her grief as an attempt to win her over. Damon let her make the choice on her own without pressuring her.

I think Damon's great and love his Character in the show and his love for Elena is lovely....BUT!!!! When Elena was with Stefan it gave me goosebumps!! They had such a deep founded love for one another that was epic and I believed they would be Endgame.....I stopped watching the show after season 6 as it felt so forced and since seeing clips with Stefan being with Caroline is awful :-( I had hoped that Elena and Stefan would end up together but that's my opinion as I'm a softie at heart and a real romantic person so I just felt Stefan was the right one for her :-) xx

I wholeheartedly agree. Elena and Stefan are the better couple, their love was much more real and had so much more meaning and proof of real love - they were an epic love story. I mean, they actually fought so much harder for each other; Elena definitely fought harder to save and for Stefan, with Damon she didn’t even have to try and until Elena became a vampire she couldn’t choose Damon. The whole sire bond seemed like it was all forced for them. Also, I agree, I never shipped Stefan’s no Caroline, they were better as friends and it was just to expand their stories for romance after Klaus left and The Originals spin off started and Elena left the show; Stefan never loved anyone like he did or more than he did Elena; Caroline deserved better than Stefan - I was rooting for Klaroline all the way too

I'll always ship stelena. I don't like the look of her Damon together mostly because in the beginning of season 1 I never liked him. Elena and Stefan all the way, the reason I like them together is because they fell for each other on their own, their love was true and real. Damon and Elenas love was built off being sired to Damon. It didn't seem real, it wasn't true... Like come on guys.. The first thing that happens after Elena breaks it off with Stefan is that she sleeps with Damon.. It went too fast and it's felt forced because she was sired. Many people might not agree with me on this but it's my opinion I like stelena because they're love was true and real.. And i love those relationships where the people consume each other, drive each other crazy and where the pairing needs each other in a way no one can understand because they can be complicated...but well that's what i see in Delena and thats what i love of them but Stefan and Elena well they are amazing too and rose was right damon changes elena but stefans Love is pure and he will always be there for her no matter what he accepts her the way she is he will always love her and always be good for her and the sex scenes i actually do like them but they are not as compessionate and as sexy as the ones of delena are :) Stelena sex scenes are more romantic it's a complete other bonding they have but they both are amazing just in a complete other way and everyone is different and i think there are 2 different pairing types and everyone belongs to one of them and i think that also depends on if you're going to ship stelena or delena.. but it doesn't make you any better or worse :) sorry for that roman :D it's just my opinion♥!
