I was a kid when Tim Drake was introduced in the comics. To this day, he is still the one TRUE Robin to me and always will be. As much as I love me some dark and foreboding solo Batman films, I’m still waiting for a filmmaker to come along and do a well done, live action Tim Drake. I feel like a dark Batman that is balanced out by a level headed Tim Drake Robin would be something live audiences of today would really appreciate. Still the gold standard Robin to this very day!

However each robin I believe represents an aspect of Bruce. And Tim Drake represents the Detective. Hell Ras al guul (however you spell it) only ever called 2 characters by that title. Bruce, and Tim.

Tim is my favourite Robin and it kinda sucks coz I feel like he was super under-utilised and his arc wasn't as strong as Dick and Jason. Really good video Batcave, the potential for this character is unmatched compared to many others in my opinion.

A couple things... First, Thank You.... THANK YOU... *THANK YOU!!!* Way way *way* too many youtubers and such covering Tim make the mistake of saying he *wanted* to be the new Robin. (Even the Teen Titans TV series got this wrong). Tim was only trying to get Dick to go back to being Robin. It was Dick's idea to make Tim the new Robin. Heck, when Alfred pointed it out to Tim, Tim was utterly shocked. Second, I'm probably the only person who liked the idea behind the "Drake" code name. (Though not that he got it from his own evil Earth-3 counterpart) To me, Tim's greatest character flaw was always his own insecurity and self doubts. (The "Young Justice" cartoon handled this really well.) Him taking the name "Drake" reflected his constant ability to figure out other people's secret identities, but his inability to understand that was because he himself is an incredibly talented detective, not because secret identities are utterly useless.

I'd put Tim as my 2nd favourite Robin, he's great and definitely quickly earns the mantle of Robin. I like Jason more when he becomes Red Hood, but as Robin Tim is far better, only taking 2nd place to Dick.

First I just want to say thank you for posting up more content on the Batcave channel that you have. Second is while I do like Tim Drake as well, I also feel that as far as him be my favorite Robin not so much that title still belongs to Dick Grayson and second-place of course is Jason Todd but as a strong second place almost close to a first-place tie with Grayson since the DC vs vampires Issue 6 which showed how strong Jason Todd really is when he says to him "I'm not holding back." against Grayson even if he is a vampire. The reason why I have mixed feelings for Drake as the third Robin is at they portrayed him as well as almost seeing him as a duplicate of Bruce Wayne in terms of his detective skills as well as his training. And when you do get to the Stephanie Brown as Robin I will only say this that she deserves some love and not the bad treatment that she got in her early Renditions in the comics.

Great story. Love the Red Robin character. I understand what DC is trying to do by making Tim come out as bisexual, but come on man. Only source suggested Tim was Bisexual was in Teen Titans when the group was made of Robin (Tim Drake), Wonder Girl, Starfire, Superboy, Devil Boy, Ravanger and more Tim had feelings for Connor but these were small hints which the story didn't focus on but did show Tim had some feelings for Connor

In my own personal head canyon I just refer to Tim Drake as Cardinal. It's a better name because it doesn't have the words robin or red in it. Plus Cardinal is a type of red bird which fits the avian theme of the bat family.

He also became the Future Batman who wanted to kill Batwoman. He was Batman Beyond when Terry McGinnis died. Then he returned to being Robin. Now he is the forgotten male Robin who isn't Nightwing, Red Hood or Damian.

Tim has a great robin story that shows just how he is unique compared to the other robins but he never evolves past that dick is great because of his evolution red hood to his downfall and while I don't love Damien Damien works as a sort of way to challenge the entire bat family what does it mean to be robin what does it mean to be actual family I both love it and hate it but with Tim his story just stagnates I think they should treat him more like a passive character a genuine full time detective

Tim's biggest story is his relationship with stephanie brown. It made the least sense out of every robin for him to be bisexual. Damien couldve been but at the time of the change the fans really shipped hard damien and raven which is why I think they didnt go with that change. Tim in my opinion shouldnt have been bi. Jason also couldve been bi, hell cassandra, luke couldve been changed too, and there was already a gay representative in the bat family from blue Jay but shes not very popular and not many people know about her cuz shes not in any of the movies.

It basically lazy writing to slap on a character Thts existed for 30 years now I understand for the sake of John Kent since he is technically still new but I think real problem is how it’s being handled in the comic industry. It’s cool how they’re exploring sides of characters but what really attracts characters from withers movies books, games etc are their traits and complexity and this is something the writers in DC fail to do. Since most of their characters who came out or the new ones who were made tend to be one dimensional and tend to have their sexuality or race be the only thing that stands out for their character. If u were to read Dixons Tim Drake comics and compare it to Fitzmartin run, Tim is not the same character.
