Oooh the vivid colors mode looked incredible. I will have to keep this in the back of my mind… maybe I’ll get it for myself with my Christmas money (because I usually get a decent amount of Amazon gift card money for Christmas) but who knows, I will keep following this because I would like to see it in all its glory first before I make any decisions.

Mine had the yellow bar at the bottom. Looks terrible. I wonder how many other people have this problem?

Sadly I’m sending my Colorsoft back. Mine has a yellow/brown bar at the bottom. Yours has it too, unfortunately. I can tell from the video.

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that the "yellow" bar is just a screen glue setting and drying. It goes away after a few days. Happened in a preorder iPhone a while back.

Apparently it’s a glue only used on colour kindle in some units glue seems to have a stronger yellow tone than others possibly due to degradation of glue for some. I was wondering if that means it may get worse over time as glue ages. Apparently Amazon going to try a software update to mitigate effects on screens but if they all different I don’t understand how that works. Stopped shipping in U.K. for couple of months

I love the Kindle Colorsoft, because it is the 1st Kindle to show all of my ebooks in my library. The other kindles do not show all of my purchased ebooks, so I always had to go to the Amazon Content Library website to send them to my kindles (Paperwhite SE 12th Gen and Kindle Scribe). My biggest con is the battery life. The battery percentage drops fast.

@ I charged my Kindle Colorsoft to 100%. I started reading and downloading books during an 8 hour shift on and off. The battery dropped to 22% in one night. I worked overnight.

@emcdonald75 The moment you upload an entire library on ANY ereader, the battery will drop subsatantially, because it has to index all of these books. Meaning all the covers, book descriptions, metadata, series information etc. have to be processed and filed away. This is what eats the battery load. Your battery will work just fine once you just read on your device and upload just one ir two books at a time, as one does with day to day use.

@@onemanbookclub2585 I’ve seen other people on Reddit say they’ve noticed it on their Colorsoft. I just hope the issue can be fixed soon.

For the people that are having an issue with the yellow bar, it is just the screen glue settling and drying. I had a preorder iPhone and had the same issue. It will go away in a few days.

It's enough of an issue Amazon is pausing shipment of the Colorsoft. We'll see what kind of fix they come up with.

Is there no dark mode? I loved that on my paperwhite kindle.

Nope, no dark mode on the Colorsoft.

Update: looks like they send an update. There is now an option in the drop down menu called "Page Color." When you toggle it, the page inverts to black with white letters. So they've fixed that.

Warm more than 3 doesn’t look good. Warm 3 and vivid color is what I use. I don’t experience the yellow effect but all becomes more orange with high warm level

Yes, the warm like is good for when you have cool florescent lights around you. It's not needed for most reading situations. I also like keeping the brightness settings high to make the colors pop more.

Looks good but I stick with KLC as Amazon won’t make this Colorsoft available here and the price is also more expensive than KLC that can do annotation.!
