In order for this e-bike to be compliant with existing classifications, DJI would need to lock the maximum power output to 750 Watts. The power of its drive system is what disqualifies the bike from being assigned any class. Given that National Forest is sloooowly adopting Class 1, DJI might want to target this classifications. With the National Forest holding the majority of single track trails, it's going to be hard for DJI to sell this product in the US as an unclassified conveyance.
@WorldwideCyclery27 күн бұрын
I don't think it would be too much of a challenge for them to limit the max power output with a little software update and make it compliant. With that said, it seems like the whole situation is evolving when it comes to the legislation and who knows what will happen next.

Waay overhyped ! carbon can begin to crack internally with no warning of a future failure . The battery is not easily removable which is a deal breaker for the majority of commenters on YT . The touch screen has been reviewed ,:mentioning that the screen does not always respond , it's hard to see in full sunlight and staring down at a touch screen while riding can be very dangerous . The torque rating of 120 Nm is only available for 30 seconds due to possible overheating which was admitted by the manufacturer . compare that to the TQ which has 120 NM and no ober heating or the Sachs /BMZ 112 nm which is available at extremely low cadence , from 140 to 160 RPMs and NO overheating . The stats of these motors is NEVER mentioned when DJI makes their claim that their bike is the most powerfully bike on the market . that's a lie ! also no real worl long term testing by RIDERS ,so we don't know about reliability , warranty claims , parts availability and service .,

We were told by DJI early 2025 for US distribution.

I dont understand why someone would get sooo excited about more power on an ebike, i dont remember the last time I used the turbo mode on my trek, the bosch is not as “strong” as the DJI and even like that in turbo the bike wants to wheely when you pedal too hard.

You've never looked at the top of a climb and wanted to get there quicker? ;)

@ I dont think making to the top 7 seconds faster would change my life!! 😂😂

@@danielpatino81 Testers were saying they were beating full power emtbs by over a min on a 3 min climb lol. That's with using the boost mode though. The thing is the torque and climbing insanely steep stuff. Sure it will go faster on fire roads but check out loam wolfs review that dropped today. 30% grade climbs..

@ again, a minute faster or slower won’t make my life any different, im pretty sure any person would agree that reliability is number one, thats why I only buy bosch no questions asked, and thats also why 90% of the new bike being released lately are equipped with Bosch power unit, DJI sounds great, however, until the reliability number are no settle I dont think there is a reason to pay that amount of money to be some else guinea pig!!! Just saying.

@@danielpatino81 And that is your option. No doubt. DJI is one of the best electric motor companies in the world though.. There is a reason they came on to the scene with something better than everyone else on day one.. I'd say logistics is more of a reason not to buy than reliability (at least when we are talking about these companies).. To each their own though. I'm sure in the coming years you'll have your answer!

Why talk about a bike that you can't get for your customers🤔

We're in talks with DJI about carrying them!

@WorldwideCyclery DJI is no fan of the U.S. for its ridiculous banning of flying drones. The U.S. market is the lowest priority on DJI's distribution list. Good luck!

I don’t know how you can do any meaningful comparison of this bike to other bikes without taking into consideration the cost of each bike. If it costs $25,000, I don’t care how quiet or powerful the motor is or how much it weighs. Additionally, there are other important considerations like how easy is it to get replacement parts or get the bike worked on.

One big con, who fixes that thing when it breaks? I really don't want to drive 16 hours to get an update.

Just put pegs on it already and hack it with a throttle. Especially with this power. The “new” mountain biker doesn’t want dirt under his nails 💅 😂
