Good day everyone. In today’s episode of “Bicycle Showcase,” we will discuss the all-new, wholly redesigned Domane SL 5. The Domane SL 5 is ready to take on rough roads and long miles with a ride that's smooth, sleek, and aerodynamic. The lightweight 500-series OCLV Carbon frame has rear IsoSpeed to smooth out bumps in the road and reduce fatigue and an integrated cockpit for a setup that looks as good as it feels. It features a reliable Shimano 105 drivetrain, disc brakes for all-weather stopping power, and an easy-access internal storage compartment for stowing ride essentials. Plus, tire clearance for lofty 38c hoops lets you take on almost any road, from tarmac to light gravel.
What do we always say?
Be kind to yourself and others.
Be amazing stewards on the trail.
And we have to ask, what are you waiting for, “Get Out, Arizona!”
We will see you on the next adventure.

Another great info video. Thank you! 2021 Domane ebike with 700x40mm Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H. Gravel H a fast rolling (acts like a slick) cushy stable ride at 36psi for hard dry conditions. Currently Gravel RC on front for steep offroad downhills and softer conditions. Will switch back to Gravel H front summer. Ride 90% blacktop, concrete, broken old overgrown roadways, hardpack dirt, hardpack grit, etc. Less than 10% off road. Damp mornings tread of Gravel H fills with dirt and grit does not feel confident on steep downhills on damp grit or damp dirt. SFBay area morning condensation and fog normally dry by 10am.

Great info. Thank you. I bought the SL5 this month, in the blue sage, 44cm. I’m height challenged. I LOVE this bike. I was riding an FX4, getting into the 25 to 30 mile range on my rides. Wanted something that I could comfortably bump up the miles. I was more concerned about comfort and endurance than speed. I test rode many and the instant I hopped on the SL5 i knew it was mine. Not easy to find a small bike. I think I’ll ride it for the summer as is and then consider a wheel set upgrade.

I have one of these in the SLR 7 AXS, absolutely love it. I was not even looking for one, it fell into my lap and I could not pass it up. I sold my Gen 3 SLR 7 di2 from 2021 after I got this, it just did not compare. This is such an improvement over the Gen 3, I can't even begin to describe it. Night and day difference in riding quality, and I highly recommend this bike if you can get one. Running the Aeolus Pro51s, using Pirelli P Zero Race TLR in 30mm, rides so nice.

THIS is my next road bike. I'm not trying to win any criteriums. I just want to spend hours on the saddle without suffering in extreme positions. edit: I do worry about losing the rear adjustability in the suspension. Being a short petite female I usually would like a less firm rear triangle. Maybe a Gen 3 would suit me better.

I bought a new Trek Domane SL5 Gen 4. It was great for about 10 miles and then a loud creaking sound was coming from the seat post/Iso speed system. I Returned the bike to the shop and after diagnosing the problem for two hours I was told Trek had a bulletin out regarding the issue. The shop didn't have the part to repair it. I was fortunate they had a 10 refund policy which I opted for. I had heard there were problems from other customers prior to buying the bike, but purchased one anyway. How does it compare to the AL5?
@GetOutArizona
@GetOutArizona Жыл бұрын
That is an excellent question, Roger, and thank you for asking. Ride compliance is the most significant difference. With no IsoSpeed, compounded with the aluminum frame, the ride is noticeably stiffer. After a long ride, you will be a little more beat up. There are also subtle differences: Max tire size, bearings, some geometry, and the group. The AL5 comes with the R700, and the SL5 comes with 105. The price difference is $1400. It's worth the additional money. I went with the SL5 over the AL5 Checkpoint, and I am happy I did. I hope this helps Roger. Thanks again for watching and asking your question.
