Thanks for all the honesty! I appreciate it. I started because you were in Portugal and plan on visiting as it looks like a great place to retire. I love animals, but the dog videos I can't do anything about $/home/time just makes me sad, so I haven't been able to watch after a few. I don't feel like it should stop though, it's still important. I am interested in all bits of what life is like there and where to do stuff on a normal person's budget.

Portugeeza I started watching your channel to see Portugal life place’s weather etc I was interested in moving to Portugal buying land etc Things making me re think ( the oncoming vaccine passport in September and the heat in high summer temperatures so I’m now rethinking But it would be nice to get a escape from England

I had some friends panicking about the vaccine passport thing after watching REDACTED. In reality, it is an entirely voluntary scheme. It started well before Covid and the primary purpose is to allow people who migrate within the EU to get their vaccinations for all things (like TB and Polio) recognized. I know the Covid vaccine sucks, but all vaccines are not in the same category. Some actually work and have a tried and tested track record of preventing massive suffering without adverse effects. Worry about the heat, the ants and the forest fires. Don't worry about this.

The vegan argument a few years ago I did the same to aid pain in joints I did it full on for about 6months then started eating fish with diet and slowly added chicken but clean from farm shop Ect I do not have joint pains now

Tony, you do you and those of us that like it will watch. I appreciate you being brave enough to express your opinion - regardless if I agree with all of it or not. And good for you eating more healthy. My husband and I went mostly whole food plant based 2 years ago when he was pre-diabetic and we decided that we didn't want to grow old and unhealthy. Taking full, knowledgeable about your health is important. Each person needs to make that decision for themselves. Veggies for the win! :) Enjoy the many different things that you share with us. Also, agree that if someone doesn't believe in abortion - then they shouldn't have one. But as a woman I believe in my personal sovereignty over my body - not property of the state.

There are now hundreds of 'expat-in-Portugal' content creators; the most successful channels tend to have a unique selling point, an angle that appeals to a sizeable audience (homesteading, property tours, American digital nomads). You don't really have a USP other than yourself, lol, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, I enjoy hanging out with a fellow critical thinker and contrarian, precisely the characteristics that preclude any sort of mass appeal😅FWIW I think a lot of your viewers are thinking of moving to Portugal and would enjoy learning more about the practicalities, the politics, the language, etc. But if you're not worried about analytics or making an income from youtube, then just keep having fun and see where it goes.

Mate, thinking seems to be slowly going out of fashion. Some of the crap I was challenged on a while back has driven me off of commentating on most of social media. As my old man used to say: engage brain before opening gob. I wish the non-thinkers and keyboard warriors would learn to do so. The trouble is, stating an opinion creates a framework in the other person’s mind that means you’re labelled either ‘a’ or ‘b’, without any consideration to the rest of the alphabet! The veganism thing is very polarizing. I'm not sure it is really regarded as being left-wing, but I do understand completely what you mean by it triggering stupid and instinctively negative reactions from certain groups. These would tend to be more right wing groups and those tend to embrace the narrative that doing what they want (no matter how obviously harmful) represents freedom. Veganism offends people for the most part because it highlights their weakness. They can't hack it and they know it. Therefore, they have to resort to moral outrage to discourage it in society, lest they become a pariah. I watch every video and I also comment etc. However, the dog shelter video series is the only video type that I occasionally skip. It's basically same day, different dog and there is not as much content like we see here for example. I loved this video. It tells us what you think, it has funny moments etc. Your personality, is what makes the channel interesting. The property videos were good and I am not surprised they did well, given the theme. My criticism of them is only that you were too positive. I mean, some of the homes did not have a lot to be positive about to be honest. You could have done some great content lampooning various aspects of those properties and the types of folk who seem all too eager to dive into them. Better still would be properties which are completely crap and on the market for 400K. However, the agents might not love that type of review. There is a great video to me made on the theme of "stupid foreigner massively overpays for ruin. Ruins life." or "Stupid foreigner buys too much house". On the donations thing, I will send you something via Revolut. I refuse to use Patreon etc and pay 5-8% to them.

I did tell them that people would appreciate seeing them making content, but they didn't believe me! Anyway, that's awesome... On another note, do you watch the GMP show? You do, right? Why not come on and talk about crypto? You could promote your channel and so on...

@@theportugeeza Yes. I watch GMP sometimes, not all the time. At the moment I am just interested in making videos for fun on topics, I could not find info about. I hope the boys will be more motivated to participate in the videos - especially Christian. Lord knows he could use the motivation.

I do want to get a better camera but it's a big investment... this camera is an Insta360X2, which was state of the art a couple of years ago! I'd like to get a Canon G7x111, but 530 Euros!

I love dogs, however most of your vids are not so interesting to me, as i'm familiar with the places and landscapes, or Portuguese society, as i am Portuguese, they are surely more interesting to some Brits either here on in Blighty or any other place. I am tolerant like hell, in fact, i can consider this channel as test to my tolerance, i endured till the end, LOL! I get your point about the niche issue. I also follow hundreds of channels, i only have 1 or 2 hours of internet trip each day, so i have to be picky. I'm also a follower of Itchy Boots. It's difficult to listen about veganism and not to think about politics, they have turned it into a cause and constantly demonise people who eat animals or have animal farms. I never took your veganism personally, but had to disagree. The eskimo argument is indeed stupid, you listen to everything in the diet wars of the internet! I Highly approve your ban on alcohol and smoke, i've also quit smoking and only have a drink ocasinally. when we come to a certain age we have to make choices for our own good. I also think outside the box regarding left and right wings, just more mind control. The internet is a window to the world!

People have different DNA and can tolerate different foods. In the future it will be possible to get a diet based on a persons DNA. I am doing a Keto diet and it works for me. 🙂 B12 vitamin can only come from animals. How can a true vegan get that?

Loads of non-meat foods have vitamin B12; bananas, almonds, shitake mushrooms, etc... but, you have to appreciate that the vitamin argument is really a strawman... I mean, as if the average carnivore is keeping track of their vitamin intake... it's just another piece of meat industry propaganda... anyway, most vegans will take supplements... so what? I've no doubt that most vegans are healthier than most meat eaters... let's be real here!

@@theportugeeza Many companies sell food that contains poison to make money. This applies to meat, fish and vegetables. Some also make food their religion. It is difficult for an ordinary consumer to make good choices in the Western world. The shops are full of ultra-processed "food" and the internet is full of know-it-alls and influencers. My choice of diet works for me because the cholesterol and diabetes 2 are reversed. I have eaten keto food which has made me healthy and without medication. It is nice if others get well with other diets, but it is sad if the diet makes someone sick.
