Maybe not a popular opinion but I really enjoy series that last longer like marble mountain and am hoping that oceania can last as long. Although it may not get as many views compared to a new series every few months, I like to see the completion of a map and seeing you reach the potential that the map that you created and planned for has. The first few episodes of Oceania really sold me, with the talk about the different biomes and different custom companies and industry link ups between areas, really hope you reach a point where you can achieve what you hoped for at the start. I know it maybe hard due to the limitations of the game (can tell that your saved game is really laggy and perhaps not very pleasant to play compared to a new series).

Just wanted to say i have been watching your videos since border town specifically episode 3 where you built the border crossing (which to this day is still one of my favorite builds you have done in an episode and you were the inspiration for me to start building my own cities in this great game but to get to my point it has been awesome watching you and your videos evolve over the years (crazy to be able to say over the years time flies) keep doing what your doing its amazing! Something that I find you do really well on is incorporating green space into your cities. I can never find the right balance of trees and just fields. My parks are either to empty or just turn into a forest. But you’re an inspiration for me to try and perfect my parks👍

Fantastic episode - it was really interesting to hear about your thoughts on detailing vs. the bigger picture - something I think you have always managed extremely well and which I am jaelous about. Also really interesting to me how your way of creating content has changed over time. Compared to most other games, creating detail-heavy (comparatively to vanilla) Cities: Skylines content has the issue of needing hours and hours of recordings in a sped-up format for just a 20 minute episode - whereas games that are much more "let's playable" allow for a less time-consuming creation process. I can also nod in "battle hardened" agreement to the demotivation a clunky save / terrible game performance can incur. When coupled with the tons of hours spent on creating each episode, it was the perfect storm for killing my enjoyment of the game.

I had an issue with the procedural objects button as well - I have no idea why it disappeared but found someone deep on the steam workshop page say the .ini file for PO has "location" option I believe, either that or it might just be in the in-game setting themselves where it's something like "reset positioning" but can't remember exactly. Point is, I think it's still there but it's just off the bottom-right hand side of the screen somewhere for whatever reason

Just wanted to comment before I forget but I think something in the style of a busway could potentially work for Mathilda point if there's room for it and it works well. Many Australian and New Zealand cities feature prominent busway systems like Auckland, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

If it’s alright, I thought it would be really cool to make an inland city on the outskirts of Dundee inspired by the suburbs of Canberra like Belconnen. Or even you could make a radio tower atop of one of the mountains behind Matilda point inspired by Telecom tower (Telstra Tower), Also in Canberra. Last of all, you could try to make a seaside town on the other side of the map, inspired by some of the beachside towns of New South Wales, like Batemans bay, Moruya, or Tuross Head, but only if you want to. Sorry this was so long XD!!!

My key takeaways for CS2 would be: - An improved engine, like UE5 with Nanite. Think about it, unlimited poligons. Paint brush textures instead of Decals for seemless transitions theme textures. - Building/Prop mods files backward compatibility. - Some mods should be incorporated in some way, like the forrest selection mod, Move it, Search it, RICO (+more zoning filters), Loading Screen Mod, Overlayer, ACME, mods that remove things like pollution/seagulls/placement restrictions, theme mixer, Painter/Replacement mods, advanced network functionality like Intersection Making Tool, Network Tiling and Parking Lot Roads mixed together, (maybe PO), etc.

Raytraced reflections would be insane but also so cost ineffective given the amount of relfections
@TheCriminalViolin2 жыл бұрын
Can't forget about the ever important Traffic President! I think that absolutely should be a part of the mods that get implemented into base game in some fashion. It's somewhat of a necessity once one really starts expanding the game with mods. Then again, if they studied it, they could fairly easily just take what they learn from it's usage and code it into the game's behaviors and AI instead, negating any need for another TP mod.
@BeCaffe2 жыл бұрын
@@cooltwittertag Nanite is the virtualized polygon tech. Lumen, on the other hand, is the hybrid raytracing tech. It's lighter than pure raytracing as the engine deals with virtualized illumination maps to put it simple. Everything is a giant pool of data. Real-time Global Illumination would look cool, but Nanite is the real deal as it provides the scale to build states rather than cities.

when you do Cuba, it would be cool to build a prison in the hills, because they're separate nations, a lot of the smaller islands in the Carribean have their own prisons which they put up in the hills away from where people live. Cuba is obviously much larger than most of the islands, but I doubt it will be for you in Cities:Skylines so would be a nice addition.

for me i think if they do another game of course improving the fps and adding the basic mods as standard but then also improving on the mod basis for example the surface painter should be more like paint where you can select a spray paint instead of a brush and would be able to have much better transitions between terrain without using hundreds of decals. i also think leaning more towards realism with some of the models would be better instead of the standard cartoony cars and people etc.
