This is a great vid with great advice. Today's society has dumbed things down so you have to put more thought into your work to stand out (which sad to say is easy if you think about it ) . Canon I would love to see more vids like this one . Kudos . . . JKM Trinidad & Tobago

I'm slowly getting into photojournalism. It's okay if I cannot get rich with it. I just want people to see my photos and think, "oh, this picture tells a story from a perspective of the world that was always in front of my eyes, but I failed to see it."

I do plan on studying photojournalism and hopefully making it into something to help tell a story, change the lives of people who view my photos. I want them to feel what I feel, see what I see and also have a perspective or views of the image.

Thank you Canon for not trying to sell a camera. It’s not about Canon, Nikon, Sony or Leica it’s about making the image, telling a story and keeping it alive. Get outside people and tell stories that amaze the world 🌎 #photographyunitestheworld

I’ve been lost ever since starting photography just over six years ago. My biggest pain is social media. It is all consuming and far too overwhelming so the idea of going even harder in order to connect with an audience affects me negatively. I believe I have the ability to capture compelling images but as stated in this video, this is no longer enough. I continue to shoot sporadically but I have no direction and feel stuck. It’s not a nice feeling to have at me age.

Thank you for the stories. I recently took my short course on Photojournalism. It really blew my mind. Thank you for inspiring newbies like me to try harder and live a story to tell that will remain for decades.

Because: 1) Only photojournalists care about this 2) There are no photojournalists on KZbin (essentially) 3) KZbin Photography channels are all about equipment reviews or non-journalistic photography technique (see #2)

Change is an inevitable part of human civilization. Technology has just helped spread it by way of affordable instruments. Generations will come to appreciate the shift from exclusivity to abundance. Those whose excepts challenges will never excuse, but be a participant of the challenge.

I am a retired photojournalist. I am not the greatest phototographer there ever was. I had some big gaps in my desire to tell stories visually. I am greatly concerned that much will be lost as the photojournalist disappears. For those not aware, that has already begun. The Chicago Sun-Times, Sports Illustrated, two examples for a start. There is a reason freedom of the press is constitutionally guaranteed in the USA. It keeps everybody honest. It helps us remember what we have been through, good and bad. It prevents us from becoming too complacent. It helps us remember our values. Photojournalists show us our differences, our similarities. They preserve what once was, what has been lost. They help us to see each other as human. They let us see what threatens us and how valuable our friends and neighbors can be. Photojournalism is less and less valued. People who have the education, experience, insight, etc. are being let go from newspapers, magazines and other journalistic positions. Photographers are often the first ones to be gotten rid of and replaced by other sources, often inferior. A photojournalist is not just a button pusher, contrary to what is often thought.
