I just watched all 3 of The Mass of the Ages. Truly beautiful. Gives us hope, no matter what the future brings. Thank you.

Questions: When will the DVDs for the Mass of the Ages Trilogy be available for purchase & where can the film be purchased? Is the film addressing SSPX currently in the works? Also, I would like to thank Cameron & his team for this amazing work they produced!!!

This is hands down the best discussion I’ve heard on this topic for a long time. And I’m so glad to hear about the TLM training and 200 Novus Ordo priests signed up! This is fabulous!! We will need them IF we had to go “underground “. Praise God. All Angels and Saints pray for the pope to have a vision a change of heart! This is what has been lacking in the Trad community…. Way too much criticism and name calling, not enough unity in praying for pope Francis to have an encounter like Saul of Tarsus! Do we believe that can happen? Yes. Then just pray 🙂

100% agree that we need to have a calm trust in God's plan. If God is pleased with this worship, it will continue. Also, that we should be VERY wary of those counseling us to disobey our superiors on a serious matter. God may be using this persecution of the TLM for our (and our children's) good. More prayer! More trust!

“There is only one way to perfection and that is to pray. If anyone points in another direction then they are deceiving you.” St Teresa of Avila. There is no question which liturgy leads to deep contemplative prayer and which does not. It’s not even debatable.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger supported Mr Michael Davies, author of 'Pope John's Council,' 'Pope Paul's New Mass,' and 'Cranmer's Godly Order.' Here is an important quote from the future Pope Benedict XVI: "I have been profoundly touched by the news of the death of Michael Davies. I had the good fortune to meet him several times and I found him as a man of deep faith and ready to embrace suffering. Ever since the Council he put all his energy into the service of the Faith and left us important publications especially about the Sacred Liturgy. Even though he suffered from the Church in many ways in his time, he always truly remained a man of the Church. He knew that the Lord founded His Church on the rock of St Peter and that the Faith can find its fullness and maturity only in union with the successor of St Peter. Therefore we can be confident that the Lord opened wide for him the gates of heaven. We commend his soul to the Lord‘s mercy." Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, Letter to Mr Julian Chadwick, Chairman, The Latin Mass Society, 9th November 2004.

Any future documentary that covers the current SSPX situation needs to address: (A) their Puritanical theology; (B) their socialist disciplinary methods; and (C) the leadership's grave mishandling of the child sex abuse by SSPX priests.

Has there been an attempt to feature Mass of the Ages at the Vatican or to have an audience with the pope regarding this trilogy? Or presented it at the USCCB? If not, why?

These two gentlemen right here, are PILLARS in the promotion of authentic Catholic worship. Congratulations to both of these fine examples of Catholic Masculinity. Thanks to both Eric Sammons and Cameron O'Hearn for speaking the truth in love.

“Authentic Catholic worship” is the mass in the form as directed by the magisterium. Anything else is a recipe for schism. The TLM no longer is the acceptable form of the mass unless the local bishop says so.

@@joejohn1492The answer given by Benedict XVI that the old liturgy was good and worthwhile and wholesome and continues to be so, remains true.

I loved MOTA, all three parts. I was disappointed though that there was nothing about the origins and development of the Mass. I thought that was the only weakness.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you guys are. Unfortunately, though it appears that the Latin mass is going to be permanently banned, and in order to celebrate it, we have to be excommunicated.

Thank you both, great discussion and great hope despite the dark rumours. I think it is slightly unfortunate the term "the Church made a mistake" in terms of the implementation of the liturgical changes - the Church herself never makes mistakes, but "churchmen" certainly do. Everyday. And they did in this case, foisting a deficient, watered-down (albeit still valid, to preserver the indefectibility of the Church) liturgy upon the faithful. Take care and God bless.

Only the beginning, that shaky spiral step in logic is always part of the often painful tension held together in .. Sacred Tradition at work = yesterday, today, and for each tomorrow ..? Yep! Whatever we have thrown at us, by our senior pastors, to make sense of and obediently apply will demand effort on our part; if it works, fine and dandy, if not, we use moral reason rather than hissy fits to adjust the balance and make up for what is lacking as best we may (not so eaily done, of course, when wobbling on a tight rope where the end goal is changed, reformed, re-reformed, or or just plain monkeyed about with, willy nilly). What was the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that so moved souls like Edith Stein, Muriel Spark, or even Radcliffe Hall and Agatha Christie to fully and even intensely engage with it .. or seek to preserve it, with all of its dread ramifications in perspective, thought and life? Who then, one wonders, spoke so clearly to man's most intimate heart - through the most beautiful thing this side of heaven .. and how did it tug at the hearts and minds of Wiseman, Faber, Chesterton, Greene, and even to Hollywood type film artists in our own time ... that is the stuff of movies, or at least a kitchen sink drama in sublimity, pathos, bathos and routine. Keep the Faith; tell the truth, shame the devil, and let the demons shriek. God bless. ;o)

Why the bishops don't have this discussion is unbelievable. Don't they see the harm done by the NO and the vocations in the TLM communities? It's willful blindness. They say embrace the teachings of Vatican II without ever mentioning what specific teaching. What teaching? Seriously. That all are welcome? It's a joke. There is no new teaching from Vatican II that was not included in the Deposit of Faith from the Apostles!!!

@paultran-b6r6 ай бұрын
We need to stick to the rubrics of the traditional Mass, i.e. the number of prayers first and foremost. The prayers can be in the vernacular so long as they are accurately translated MHO. Oh, and the celebrants have to face the tabernacle or the high altar. The tabernacle should not be shoved into a hole or to the side. No female altar servers, or married men or people living in sin serving Mass. And also the pulpit needs to be set apart from the sanctuary because there are women who read scripture.
@CatholicTraditional6 ай бұрын
It might be tough at this point to fire the female servers at your typical parish, because in most places, they’re the majority. Building pulpits outside the altar rail might not be practical in most American parishes. Even the young men serving generally aren’t ordained. Your parish choir/schola typically has no one ordained, but American parishes got it right by building the choir lofts up in the back. St. Pius X mandated this.

That is a very ignorant statement. Have you ever been to the TLM? What are you afraid of? That it may be actually the correct way to worship. That since the 1960s the Church has followed "the work of human hands" and has been lead by modernists who don't have the faith and in fact hate the actual Catholic Church and are trying to make a new one that they call the Conciliar Church and now the Synodal Church
@maryvz3456 ай бұрын
So the Mass can just radically changed and the worship of all of the great saints become irrelevant. Any one person can just decide on his own whims…whatever happened to the defender of faith and morals…not the changer of faith and morals?

I see nothing wrong with the word sell..as in sell a person on the Faith..just like, even though this is a little different, i never saw anything wrong with the "selling" of indulgences..as all it is is almsgiving..and in fact i think we should bring the practice back..along with the office of quaestores or pardoner..little off topic but there it is..God bless Mary protect +++
