i was at this game, it was my first and so far only NFL game i’ve ever been to. i was a huge brett favre fan and was so bummed when he got hurt but in hindsight it’s cool i got to see the beginning of the legend of aaron rodgers. i’ll never forget it took over 3 hours to get home from the stadium bc the logistics were so terrible, glad they got rid of texas stadium pretty soon after. the line to get a cab from the game was literally about a half mile long. the whole thing was unforgettable and i’m very lucky to have been there. edit: rewatched and had to mention that TO grabbing the popcorn and throwing it in his face was something i saw as it happened on the field and it was such a vivid memory bc i couldn’t believe he had just done that lol

If you look on that interception, favre was hit after the ball was gone. He didn't step through like he normally would, but that still takes some off the ball. However, look how double covered the receiver was even if the ball had gotten to him. INT was still likely. This game, Favre was in his hard headed mode like he could be prone to do, and was determined to prove that he could go deep against Dallas. When Rodgers came in, he started going for the flats and shorter routes if the deep routes weren't there. And the Packers started moving the ball. Favre is one of the most liked QBs, but he's also one of the ones most likely to make things unnecessarily difficult for his team for his own entertainment.
@dark_rit Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Favre could be one of the most enjoyable QBs from an entertainment perspective you really loved when he flung the ball deep and connected. This game though just shows the danger because it was obvious the cowboys defense was playing him for a fool with a lot of defenders deep to not let him connect and he got 2 INT's because of it. Rodgers though knows when to go deep or when to connect on a short slant or sideline catch and has pinpoint accuracy. Have to imagine him watching Favre do this for 3 years made him go yeah, not going to force it deep every drive when I can just connect on shorters passes or slightly downfield passes so easily.
@gregorylagrange Жыл бұрын
@@dark_rit And this game was the birth of Favre doing his flip flopping and being petty with the team. If Patrick Clayton doesn’t drop that wide open pass against the Giants in the divisional rd, it would’ve been a Packers/Cowboys rematch in the NFC Championship game. Damn

I’m a little late here but usually the home team wears their colors when playing at home and wear white when on the road
@mikedorsey96603 жыл бұрын
@@mattharper588 Yeah, Cowboys were wearing a jersey that was half blue & half white, guess the NFL officials called it a blue jersey & had the Packers wear the white jerseys, Cowboys have always worn their white jerseys @ home as a tradition that goes back to the 60's I think.

You could make this same video but replace Farve and Rogers with Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes in the game in Denver when Mahomes made his first debut against the Broncos. That is the game where we seen his first glimmer of what was to be the following year. Also in this game the Chiefs played without Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and only had number 3 and 4 receivers on the field because they had already clinched the playoffs spot and beating Denver didn't help or hurt them. But Denver played all their #1 spots and Mahomes was still able to drive the field and win with a game winning Field goal with no time left.

Mahomes started that game and threw 0 tds and an int. Didn't look great at all, while Alex Smith was having an amazing year. Chiefs won that game because the defense had like 5 sacks, a fumble recovery touchdown and 2 interceptions. That game made me think mahomes was trash and a wasted pick. So far he proved wrong but that game was trash.

Watching him play I remember telling said buddy, this guy seems pretty damn good and that he might have future qb on their hands. He responded he ain't no favre. My buddy is still a pack fan and loves him some a rod.

Flew down from Canada for that game. They had been talking all week that Rogers was simulating Romo for the defense because Romo was perceived to be a very creative mobile QB. We could see the stadium from our hotel near the stadium but it still took hours to get to and from the stadium.

Romo is definitely the greatest at creative mobility. Had to be with trashcans as an oline for alot of his career.

Even though I always been a cowboys fan I loved to watch Brett play his little tricks passes he would do and the cannon of a arm he had was amazing plus disappointing at times too..I miss the games between Troy aikman Andy brett Farve because cowboys always won,then Rodgers comes in and like to make the cowboys def look stupid and be smiling the whole time lol because he knew he was that good,packers are lucky they drafted him and he fell to them,every team that passed in Rodgers has been kicking themselves since he got his chance to play..
