I've built in the CC560 before and it's what you would expect for the price: break off expansion slots, cheap flexible metal sheets. But for the price, including 4 fans, good airflow, tempered glass etc its so good
@yumri4 Жыл бұрын
Really until i read it a few times i thought you were talking about a intel C series chipset to which the Intel W series chipset is better. The case CC560 is ok ish but i would rather go with a Factual Design R7 XL mostly for internal space with the ease of front I/O a 2nd benefit to it. The reason for it is it is a good air flow and AIO cooling case. It also supports longer GPUs and taller components. As the case should be good for another 20 ~ 30 years. A case is like a monitor but lots less able to actually break unless you force it to. As the case is steel it pretty much will not break.
@Cryptonite26 Жыл бұрын
@@yumri4 Don't know why but I just wanted to share this here, probably about the comment of a case lasting so 20~30 years. I think I have my case I'm probably gonna use for the foreseeable future. Most anything will fit. The CM Storm trooper from coolermaster was probably one of my best purchases. I have the one with the windowed side panel though. it's big enough to comfortably fit my Asrock X470 Taichi which I bought specifically because I have accumulated a lot of 2 TB hdds over the years and have a massive media on my pc for when network outages occur here in SA. We're not so privileged to have great internet all the time. my only option atm is 4G / LTE. Main reason the Taichi stood out for me was the 2 additional sata ports that do not even disable with all M.2 slots occupied. so yay 8 SATA ports. so six of those have 2 TB drives in them while another has a 4 TB and one is connected to the awesome 2.5inch HDD docking station built into the case. I do pc repairs and data recovery as a side project from my dayjob and man has this 2.5 inch dock worked its ass of so far haha. just glad it's still in such great condition considering I've had it since 2017 (I know it was old by then) I've had a gtx 1070 RoG strix in there with quite a bit of headroom and now I'm rocking an XFX Qick 319 RX 6800 in the case (bought secondhand for the price of a 3060). I'm even happy with the fit of the RX 6800 even more since I have my harddrives mounted to disconnect from the right side of the case and slide in and out so that I have easy access to a harddrive bay when I need one the 6800 kinda does not need an anti sag bracket since the card's cooler is just slightly above a border of the drive bay that will hold it once it sags a very small amount. Case stays cool as well with our South African summers I still rock stock coolers though my CPU is only an R5 5500 since it was a dirt cheap upgrade and I could build my second pc that is a little more portable with an old OLD handle case I can use for shorter LAN gaming sessions where I don't feel like carrying the bigboy with me (The CM Stormtrooper also has a meta handle with rubber padding however it's a heavy rugged case filled with 3.5" HDDs) I'm sorry for this long irrelevant post. I just felt like sharing my experience with a great case and had to give some idea of the components inside also so you can figure out what kind of person finds the CM stormtrooper appealing and why. (I do take it to LANs as well especially the bigger ones) the handle is great quality. so I'm a pc enthusiast or whatever you want to call me I am passionate about building pc's and troubleshooting them, it can be challenging at times but it's fun non the less. anyways. I only do light gaming mostly league of legends and some CSGO. but it's great to have a pc that no matter what I want to play and how demanding it is I can launch a game and have a VERY decent time with it with no issues whatsoever (still love tinkering with the settings most of the time to see how far I can push it though) also just incase someone wants to comment that I only have HDDs in my PC. I did say both M.2 slots are occupied. also personal experience, 16GB ram is still okay but I felt the difference when I had 32GB and had a few hundred tabs open in firefox while doing other intensive stuff alongside my browser staying open 24/7. (16gb went to the secondary pc)

@@yumri4meh, a case is a box for your components to go in as long as they don't get damaged and are within temp specs, it's doing it's job. I wouldn't recommend a $100+ case to someone building a $600 computer because "it will be good for 10-20 years" a $50 case will last as long if you don't abuse it. I have ATX cases from the year 2000 that were cheap then and still fit modern components in them now without detriment. I'm not saying cheap out on a case as I have a Lian o11 air mini, but I could get away using a $50 case just as well.
@yumri4 Жыл бұрын
@@flipdryThe only reason why i go with the Factual Design R7 XL is the front having 2 5 1/4" bay and the motherboard tray big enough for EEB and EATX it is basically just a case that supports using 2 240mm AIOs without blocking the PSU. For me the 5 1/2" front bays are important I do wish the cost was cheaper as a 200USD case is as expensive as some of my complete windows PCs though mini PCs are cheap as they tend to stay around 100 to 300USD for the entire system.
@brohvakiindova4452 Жыл бұрын
@@flipdry I bought a NZXT H510 because it was a bit discounted (still 80€ I think) and had really nice solutions to hide/manage cables, removable dust filters, good enough fan slots and other small details. I'm really happy with it except for the glass panel being hard to remove sometimes. I don't see myself ever changing this case because it has everything I want. You're right when you're on a tight budget you can't overspend on the case, but a quality case can save you a bit of trouble on every upgrade. The thing is you can get really good cases for ~$60, there is no reason to go for the cheapest $30 one except if it's a used quality one.

Keeping your system until your upgrade parts are X2 better is good advice and the way I go. I like to enter a new platform that is twice as fast as my old system at the low end, that way there are also CPU upgrades down the line guaranteed. At the moment I have a 1600af CPU but will max out the am4 motherboard with the 5800x3d which is near competing with a am5 socket 7600 cpu so a good final am4 upgrade. In my experience a 10% upgrade is something you can just notice(not good) but a 200% upgrade you can enjoy.
@brohvakiindova4452 Жыл бұрын
I went from 3600X to 5800X3D and the uplift in the CPU heavy games I was getting it for I had massive performance boosts ranging from 50-100% increase while also reducing power consumption. Also don't forget the relation, the 7600X is on average ~5% faster than 5800X3D (Hardware unboxed data) but that's when paired with a 4090. My price limit would be more along the lines of a 4070 and then you'll likely have virtually no improvement except for hand selected CPU heavy games like I did. And even then buying a new MB and RAM is going to cost you a lot more.
@Real_MisterSir Жыл бұрын
For the CS560 it is unfortunate that they put 3 fans in the front but then decide to block 60% of their airflow capacity by the only partially meshed front panel - which forces the fans to spin much higher than you'd like. I would recommend drilling a bunch of holes in it manually just for this reason alone so you can lower the db level. With low power hardware the thermals aren't going to be a big problem, but if you want to upgrade down the line then it's unfortunate to lock yourself in a case that is limited by default, when the difference is only 10-20 bucks up front between a compromised case, and a solid case with good longevity for future upgrade path. Also on the note of Corsair power supplies, any of their units that use the "gen 4" PCIe connectors can use the 12VHPWR cable that they sell independently. I bought a 12VH cable directly from Corsair for my RM750 from 2019 and it is great, so much better than the Nvidia dongle adapter that my 4080 shipped with - the Corsair cable works like any other PCIe cable and can bend with zero clearance issues and is all in all very high quality (and you can get them sleeved from Corsair directly, no need for 3rd party like cablemod).

Only tip I would give is that you should pretty much ignore every cpu motherboard combo in build guides if you live near a micro center. Their bundles for cpu motherboards and memory are such a good deal. The 7700x right now is $399 and comes with a motherboard and a 32gb ddr5 ram kit. Just found this particular video, and it's hilarious to me. I'm on a 9600K, and really want to get rid of it due to how it even limits my 3080 right now, but I don't feel like it's really worth upgrading now until the end of this year when Arrow Lake finally releases. So I'm just having to ride out the 1440p struggle bus (some games continually drop into the high or mid 50s) for basically another year. Also, you're overthinking the read/write speeds of the NVMe drives. For gaming, it doesn't make a difference at all yet. Until an entirely new architecture restructures data decompression (or simply iterations upon iterations of Windows 11 DirectStorage and games that actually take advantage of it), you're always going to have bottlenecks that are going to be slower than the slowest NVMe drives. As far as cases go, you shouldn't just blindly pick one based off of the price/aesthetic. Case cooling is pretty important, so you'd be better served doing your due diligence and looking at case reviews. Particularly with places like Gamers Nexus. RTX4070 and CPU bottlenecks... Just FYI, but I did a lot of research and found that anything above an RTX4070 starts to severely be bottlenecked by a Ryzen 3000 class CPU. You can easily find CPU comparisons for your CPU or a similar CPU to find, roughly, where the bottleneck starts to occur. It varies by the game, but IMO if you have an Rx2000/3000 or comparible Intel then don't go higher than an RTX4070 or comparable AMD GPU. And side note, if you have a VRR monitor (i.e. Freesync) then I'd make per-game FPS caps to reduce FAN NOISE and keep the FRAME TIMES more consistent (in video control panel like NVidia CP or in game settings if offered). For example, if you play a slower game like Witcher 3 and can average 90FPS then consider a cap in the range of 60 to 80FPS. I find personally that fan noise ruins the experience. I rarely hear the fan noise from my RTX4070 (or other system fans) even with the speakers turned off.

If you have to get a new MB I would go with AM5, the little bit of extra is worth it. But I would recommend going for the 7600X as a starter, it's about the same performance of the 5800X3D and a bit cheaper right now, I'd rather upgrade sooner from that than spend $400 on the 7800X3D which is going to get crushed by 8000s CPUs sooner than later. I would simply strongly advise against investing in a dead end AM4 even if the 5800X3D is fine for another 3 years at least. That was the whole point of the plattform - to be free to upgrade. If you're really on a budget, sure get an AM4 build but then you don't buy a ~$280 CPU but would rather go for a $140 5600X imo.

Other than budget when suggesting PC's i find many computer lovers to suggest good systems but make bad suggestions. How can a good PC be a bad suggestion? By not taking in mind the person asking for a system and just building what they will find great. For example: Does this person even like rpg lighting? Do they want a very quite system. Do they care having a glass window to look at components? Do they have space for a big PC? Do they play games? Do they connect lots of extra stuff? Do they need wi-fi? What screen to they have? 1080p, 2k, 4k? What programs they use? Will they upgrade components? Do they store lots of stuff. Do they keep tons of taps open and open many things at the same time? All this stuff are crucial to know what case to buy, how much storage and memory, what GPU and motherboard, what PSU etc.

Good video, useful to see people go through the part-picking process. I built a PC pretty similar to this a week ago, cept I got a 7600X for $200 and a 4080 for $1k (still too expensive, but I was upgrading from a 1080TI and had the budget for it). I got a Lian Li 216 case and it was quite nice to build in, but the instructions were a bit confusing. I found a really good video of a guy putting building a PC in the same case and that helped a lot. I'd advise people to not cheap out on monitors (I know this is a PC build, not peripherals). It's a shame to get a nice GPU and then buying the cheapest monitor and struggling to see an improvement due to visual quality. Not saying a person should buy a $1k OLED monitor or anything.

Also if your going amd, I would even consider getting a lower end CPU than the 7600 considering your going for upgradability, the 8000 will be coming, and a lower end 7000 might be good enough for shorter term. Edit, I guess there are no Ryzen 3 parts for zen4 that's odd.

The 13600k is more comparable to the 7700x. The 13500 would be around the same performance of the 7600 with some extra cores to help it out. At minimum I would pair 6950xt or 4070 ti but if you only had the budget for those 2 gpus then just go 7700x / 13600k to save a bit of money (isn’t needed but optional).

The Starfield "Recommended System Requirements" only lists a 3600X. This is not a fast e-sports shooter game. You'll be able to run it at very good frame rates with a Ryzen 5600. What it does, however, state is that a 6800XT or better is required. So the system specs line up with everything else in the "AAA Single Player" category: Step down on CPU and transfer as much as you can towards the GPU. The 7800X3D only makes sense if you're also targeting the absolute fastest GPU already, and at lover than normal resolution. That is, if you're thinking 4090/7900XTX at 1440p or 1080p then it starts making sense for AAA gaming.
@andersjjensen Жыл бұрын
@@tonkatoytruck Teachers also understand that when you're watching CPU benchmarks then it's 1080p on a 4090. On something more mundane like a 3080/6900XT all scaling stops at 1440p because both GPUs are absolutely crucified before the CPU even breaks a light sweat. Obviously if you're playing e-sports games only the story is quite different, as you'd lower all settings to potato to make sure the enemies are as jagged as possible, so they're easy to see, and then a 6600XT is plenty good to drive 300FPS. But OP is specifically asking for a build for Starfield. A graphics heavy AAA title that lists a Ryzen 3600X as recommended. Ain't no way the 7800X3D is ever going to get out of sleep mode no matter what GPU he chucks at that. And funnily enough Daniel is of the same verity: he likes to crank up the visuals until the CPU taps out.

I feel you missed out a bit on what level of performance one needs these days, but this is a very nice go-to video on how to select current system components and what to take into consideration. Btw. there historically is no need to go with anything else than the stock cooler with any 65W Ryzen, because they are fairly efficient and silent already. Which is a good thing, since the only AM5 Ryzen one should buy are 65W - everything else isn't just a lot more expensive, but also thermo throttling like crazy. The worst ( yet also most impressive ) example is the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, which is a 120W TDP CPU that under load drops to around 50W just to survive. As for RAM you forgot that going with extra RAM makes sense since adding more RAM later on isn't an overly good idea with an AM5 because it likely requires reducing the memory clock for the system to remain stable. Regarding computer cases, I strongly recommend to take size and practical PC placing into consideration. There currently is a lot of "bling" to be had, but there also is a parallel development towards very compact systems, and if you go the middle road like with this build, there are some very interesting options to create a tiny yet powerful PC that snuggly fits anywhere. If you pick a micro-ATX form factor motherboard, or even better an ITX one ( which will cost you a bonus though ), you can go full feature at the size of a toaster. Power supplies became critical of late since the labeling is misleading on many especially cheap PSUs. If you read things like "650W power supply" anywhere don't just believe it but check if you get around that level power for the 12V rails alone instead of power in total. LTT is currently building a test lab because of this situation and already produced shocking results with the tests they could run, making it clear that if you are not careful for your PC to give out actually is you getting lucky because one of those could easily burn your house down.
@Blissy1175 Жыл бұрын
120w TDP cpus on AM5 are cooled perfectly fine with 120w+ tdp rated coolers. Whether that be a Noctua NH-D15 or a Deep Rock 4 or AK400+ air cooler. Most 360mm AIOs also handle 120w tdp cpus just fine. AM5 CPUs, however, are designed to target a *temperature* rather than a power limit (though it does target that, too, just only as long as it can hit that power limit before hitting the temperature limit, which it usually does) when boosting. You can change this temperature target in the bios, however, so if your concern is not being able to cool it enough to keep it from going over its temperature limit at full load then you can just set a lower thermal target.
@l3lue7hunder12 Жыл бұрын
@@Blissy1175 ... I wasn't really scared about too high temperatures, but concerned about keeping the CPU from dropping below its baseclock. Using a Ryzen of 95W TDP an higher means you need good cooling and the cooler you listed certainly would do the job, but the efficiency drops sharply and under heavy load forces the CPU do downthrottle below said baseclock reducing the single threat performance significantly. So the greatest positive effect for picking high end Ryzen is for the initial load and for mixed loads, which raises the question if thats worth it.

If you're only buying it as a placeholder until something better comes along (whether that be a 40xx card with a lot more VRAM at a much better price, or a 50xx in the future) - why not buy a 3060 GTX with 12GB? You can get them for about $300, so literally half the price of the 4070 cards - isn't half the moans about the 4070s that they aren't much better than the previous generation for the price? Why not put the $300 saved in your piggy bank until something eye popping comes along in the future?

Id consider 7700 with box instead of 7600 and aftermarket cooler. The point is, 7700 is boxed with much better one with heatpipe. Probably not the most quiet ever, but AFAIK decent enough and with much better effect than 7600 with box.

I love your videos and In depth gpu reviews. However, when it comes to your pcpartpicker builds I find that you often prioritize saving a very small amount of money over having more reputable and reliable components. There are similarly priced motherboards with much better port selection and VRMs. Faster and more reliable nvme’s within $5-8. The memory is a tough one but there are often very fast non-rgb g.skill kits for the same price. The 7600X with a $35 cooler would be well worth it over the stock 7600 configuration. Lastly I feel that a 7800 XT would be a much better fit than than (IMO) the already aging 4070.

Just a bit curious... If you load this drive over 80% capacity and do the read/write benchmarks then... I wonder what the results are. There are reasons, why drives with dram cost almost twice as much than no name e-waste with anemic slc cache (worse yet : none at all). Especially, when your habits of backing up your valuable data are a bit... sloppy. That's the saddest thing in YT build guides : they recommend benchmark builds... (Empty drive, no background processes, single monitor and MB populated with crappy caps suitable only on singing postcards). Not usable builds that can survive at least 3-4 years.

The best "cheap" 2TB nvme SSD is the Solidigm P41 plus. It's a division comprised of Intel + SK Hynix engineers

My first pc I built and still use is a r5 3600, 16gb 3200mhz and a 2060. At the time I didn't understand PCs to well so I went for something safe. Weirdly enough I had so many issues with my 2060 drivers which I don't have anymore. My next PC hopefully soon, will be a r7 7800x3d, 32gb 6000mhz and rx7900xtx Asrock Phantom for 1440p 240hz oled.

Lol going straight for the fastest parts. Only way to improve this is to go with 4090 but that thing costs a liver.,
@cxngo8124 Жыл бұрын
@@Andytlp 7900xtx overclock brings it close to the 4090. 4090 also doesn't have dp 2.1 only 1.4. DLSS and frame gen are not for the games I play. Then we add $800 and yeah, no way.

when upgrading to a new socket. I evaluate cost of a new motherboard CPU and ram, compared to what CPU I can get for the same on the current socket. I can upgrade to a Ryzen 9 5950X for $439.64, and another 16GB of ram for $38.99 as of this posting. close to Equivalent MB and a Ryzen 5 7600X with 32GB of ram on pc part picker $566.

Never make that mistake! the plan is to upgrade the cpu later, never cheap out on the motherboard. you will not buy a new motherboard in 3-4 years. better invest 50 - 100 more in the quality and features like pic-e gen 5, sound, wifi/Bluetooth... nobody know what a ssd or gpu you will buy in 3-4 years. later you save you money. nice video greetsz from Germany

Thinking of inflation - the long term power costs need to be a consideration especially for people in the EU who may face brutal power bills this coming winter from El Nino and the drama with the war / shutting down fossil fuels. So if the upfront cost is even 2x - but it saves you 50% of power (for example)... then the upfront 2x cost is worth it. It would be interesting to see you do a build that is *just* focused on power saving, and maybe even things you could do to limit the power draw when using.

I'm still gaming on a 6600 non k, 4 core, 4 thread cpu. A 6 core 6 thread cpu seems like luxury!

Teamgroups good for storage, I have 3 ssd drives I ported from my am4 build and 4 ddr4 ram modules were used in that build and no issues with any of them. Was between teamgroup and corsair on my am5 ddr5 build, both had the speed, latancy, and compatibility I wanted, corsair won only because of ique with my other ported components. Would recommend. I also originally bought an m.2 sata drive originally for my am4 build not knowing to look for nvme, still have it along with 2 m.2 nvme drives but my am5 board doesn't support m.2 sata at aĺl so just to keep that storage I had to get an external reader.

Just wanted to thank you for choosing to be a teacher. The country needs you more than ever before, but you are underappreciated and underpaid. And parents can be absolute evil turds nowadays, demanding grades and special treatment their kids do not deserve. My friend is a teacher and the things she has to put up with from some parents is just absurd. And the school does nothing to stop it.

*important info: Windows Game Bar has issues...* I recently upgraded my R9-3900x (Zen 2) system by replacing the GTX1080 with an RTX4070 (Asus Dual OC). I've been VERY happy. But I didn't expect much improvement in God of War because I thought I had a major CPU bottleneck. Why did I think that? Well I had difficulty hitting 60FPS with my GTX1080 (using VSYNC with 60Hz monitor) but Windows Game Bar was saying my GPU usage was averaging around 85% in the most GPU demanding areas. I got to 60FPS by just choosing "OPTIMAL" for everything but again, if there's no SOFTWARE cap and the GPU Usage isn't close to 100% then you can assume a CPU bottleneck... what happened with the RTX4070? I got 120FPS average at max settings, at 2560x1440 using DLSS Quality... huh? How? I left the FPS uncapped and fired up Windows Game Bar. GPU Usage? 50%. 50%? I then opened the Asus GPU Tweak III software and used the OSD to display GPU settings. GPU Usage 100%. Ah... it all makes sense now. My GPU Usage was probably at 100% with the GTX1080 but was just being misreported. There's no way I had a CPU bottleneck because I should STILL have had a CPU bottleneck with the RTX4070 and got roughly the same performance. (FSR with GTX1080 and DLSS with RTX4070 so the render resolutions were the same. I got roughly 3x the FPS when comparing Ultra vs Ultra. That's at the high end of my gains. With other games it varied between 2x and 3x so quite a range depending on CPU bottleneck, resolution, game settings etc.)
