I mean, considering the critics gave movies like Brave, Ghost Busters 2016, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Star Wars the Last Jedi, Mulan 2020, and Raya high scores while giving much better movies (that I could make a whole list of) lower scores, they've basically proven that they shouldn't be trusted.

Let’s face it the only reason why a lot of people are talking about this movie is because the Mario movie just because Chris Pratt is involved. I bet if he wasn’t involved with this movie people would probably forget it existed.

Exactly, and we also have: Robin Hood, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Madagascar, The FNAF Movie, Shrek Forever After, Hoodwinked, Peter Pan 2, Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs, Free Jimmy (A movie for adults), Balto, Pokémon: The First Movie, Tom and Jerry: The Movie, Venom, Treasure Planet, Robots, The Sonic Movie, The Tigger Movie, Meet the Robinsons, and the BEE MOVIE! What Rotten Tomatoes Critics would rather watch is: Brave, Ghost Busters 2016, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Mulan 2020, Raya, AND THAT ONE disgusting movie that also came out in 2020 who's name shall not be mentioned.

Believe me, I’ve seen PLENTY of animated movies that received lukewarm or even negative reviews and were much better than they were making them out to be.

I saw The Garfield Movie on Sunday, May 19 as AMC held an early access screening, and I can say that while it wasn’t amazing, it’s definitely not as bad as the critics are making it out to be. For what it is, it IS an enjoyable animated romp with a very nostalgic character.

Jon is in the movie a good amount, but he is given a lot of back luck with him struggling to find his pets.

Granted, Garfield as a brand will possibly do financially well due to it's wide marketing, but some of it's original plotlines in the storyboards are really dropped in favour of Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgove as the writers desperately trying to make younger children laugh and catch an appeal of the movie. I can see an audience admiring the animation and finds some scenes worth of a chuckle, but apart from the flashback backstory and some heartfelt scenes, there's very little rewatch value like other below average film adaptations.

I disagree. Along with the flashbacks and the heartfelt moments, Garfield and his father’s dynamic is very fun to watch and Otto is such a great character.
