Every man I’ve met who has ‘settled’ is referring to stuff like ‘she’s not a 10/10, but she’s alright’ or ‘she nags me a bit about doing housework but idc’, and then go on with their lives. Every woman I know who has settled talks about ‘yeah he’s basically my third child but he doesn’t physically abuse me’ or ‘he sometimes watches the kids while I go to the bathroom, though he does complain alot’

You just discount a lot of the work women do without realizing that you're looking straight at it. Look up a book called "fair play", read it, and get educated. The thing you need to learn is that men and women are not that different. Slugs and men are different. Salmon and men are quite different. Women and men? Very very much the same. We want love and respect and understanding and fairness. Start thinking about how we are so much alike instead of how we are different and you will finally be on the path.

I always laugh and select 'Not interested', but it KEEPS COMING UP, because they assume I'm a gym bro, and that's probably what they're all feeding the men. Also, good on Korean feminists and Chinese 'leftover' women for deciding on their own paths, marriage in a traditional society is not it.

Because it's a common sight. Younger women are generally happier. life is still bright and sunny. Experiences still exciting. As you age, and search for purpose in life, something begins to fade. Friends become parents, families start to develop, weddings are attended. After a while, it's literally just natural to yearn for companionship. Someone to grow with. Someone to share memories and bonds with. Life happens and seeing the activities among your friend group change is proof. Granted, you also do not want to make the mistake of spending all if that time with the wrong partner, someone who drains your life more than fulfills, but nobody is ever satisfied with solitude forever. @@kiim0 you can still be lonely in a marriage or if you have kids though. I think being a traditional stay at home mom/wife is the loneliness job a person can have. Yes you’re home with the kids but you don’t get much interaction with other adults or your peers like you would in a professional environment. In fact tons of SAHM deal with loneliness. Being socially isolated and emotionally unfulfilled will make you feel lonely. Being single and childless doesn’t necessarily mean you will be lonely. You can have work friends, friends outside of work, time to volunteer for meaningful causes, and family (siblings,parents,grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews). Yeah it’s nice to find companionship, but marrying the wrong person can be devastating for everyone involved. The worst thing that happens to a woman who doesn’t settle is that she ends up alone and maybe feeling lonely. The best thing that happens for a woman who doesn’t settle is that she gets the partner and relationship she wants or she’s happy being single and free. The worst thing that happens to a woman who settles is feeling lonely/unsatisfied, divorce/breakup, time wasted, and emotional heartache. The best case scenario for a woman who settles is that she thinks her partner is just fine.

I think idealizing a partner by talking about “perfect” or “settling” is society’s incorrect framing. You’re trying to find a human being you connect with and can go the distance with, who cares for and respects you. It won’t be perfect but it’s not settling to find someone who you know you click with and can grow with. Obviously run from red flags but I think we’ve commodified dating so much that we see people as a list instead of a human being.

The SK 4B movement really highlights something the patriarchy failed or willfully neglected to teach everyone. The patriarchy established an unbalanced power dynamic in favor of men without acknowledging the value and importance of women to keeping the patriarchy alive. If women choose not to birth men or children in general, then it severely affects men and the stability and economy of the country! Somehow, the patriarchy convinced women that getting married and having kids were requirements to establishing their worth and fulfilling their role as a woman (a tool) to the men. Feminism came in and empowered women to make marriage and having kids a choice vs a requirement which open them up to consider other criteria for fulfillment. Meanwhile, the patriarchy has not made any effort to correct the idea of women as tools for the fulfillment of men. I think that feminism terrifies some men because they can only view it through the lens of patriarchy and not feminism. I appreciate that feminism considers the plight of men, but I wonder if there's any value to it since the more dominant patriarchal culture seems relentless in holding men hostage to these archaic idealogies of how genders should exist in a society. In my opinion, the crisis for men isn't something feminism should solve, rather I think it may require an evolution of the patriarchy to something else that's a better match for feminism. Women are going to keep evolving using feminist idealogies (even those who claim not to be feminists) because it's relatable and puts women in a position of establishing their identities for themselves vs the patriarchal society. Patriarchal idealogies are becoming less relatable to women, so the harder men hold onto them, the harder it'll be for them to find women they're compatible with. At this point, I think this might require the patriarchal powers that be to redefine the patriarchy for men so their patriarchal definitions of masculinity can be modified to align better with feminism. Although this seems manipulative, it'll make it easier for men and the patriarchy to get what they so desperately need (women), and women will probably be safer for it. I mean, we can already see that the current state of things is getting more dangerous for women. There's a dangerous desperation and disdain for women linked to conservative men who can't seem to get women the way they want them. That's my hot take.
@boochi7087
@boochi7087 5 ай бұрын
@@RicochetForceI think that's fine that the patriarchal powers that be are finding alternatives instead of implementing corrective actions to address the root cause of the problem, but there is a limit to these women outside Korea or the US that'll accept these men. Additionally, for all these men going out somewhere else to find partners, my assumption that they'd still prefer to be accepted by the women local to them. It seems like they're mostly doing this because their true preferences aren't accepting them the way they are, so they're choosing to take themselves as-is to women that'll accept them as-is. It won't be long before those other women also don't accept them as-is. The world and the availability of women aren't infinite. It'll be interesting to see how things go. I'm just glad that at least some/few men understand that I'll be easier for them if they go with vs against the grain of feminism.

I always wondered why more people never questioned if marriage was for them or whether the person who they were marrying was worth the loss of their freedom, not to mention how expensive and traumatic the end of a marriage can be. I think everyone wants a loving relationship, if you find one in this lifetime, you are very fortunate, but why settle for unhappiness. I do think men don’t understand that, it is easier for a woman to live without a man then men to live without women. We make friends easier etc. society throughout history has always tried to brainwash women, saying , you must be married and society has kept us financially poor so we would have to depend on men and settle. Have you noticed a man might complain because he pays for dinner on a date but if a women offers to pay because of that, he gets humiliated. Isn’t that a bit hypocritical. We can’t win. I think most women are just looking for a kind loving partner so are a lot of men. I know there are good men out there , bless you.

" I do think men don’t understand that, it is easier for a woman to live without a man then men to live without women." You don't live without men tho, no woman does If you want protection you call the police, who are mostly men. If you want someone to repair your car you go to a mechanic who is most likely a man, the list goes on and on. Firemen, construction workers, electrical maintenance workers. The reality is that men can live and function in society without women, as we do all the important and difficult tasks. The problem is that without strong families society will become increasingly dangerous for women. Then wanting a man won't be a questions rather a requirement for your survival. Its up to us to work together as men and women to maintain a sae environment for families to thrive. The moment ppl like you become the majority society will devolve into a dangerous and lawless place.

the expectations make it very complicated to navigate. while i'm open to being a "provider" if needed i get a bad taste in my mouth from the idea that i should do it just because i was born as a guy. and it probably does the same with women and their expectations. what i'd suggest is to strike a balance and find an understanding of reciprocity based off of each person's strengths and needs. that goes regardless of gender. and with that all being said i do have to say that i am splitting the bill unless there's an understanding made beforehand that she is planning to be a housewife and i agree to that.

Lemme teach u something from a woman‘s perspective. What ruins most men for women is when men treat women like something that isn‘t human wich can go into 2 directions generally. Either you treat women as lesser and in need of a dad as a partner cause you see women as mentally less intelligent and capable of making decitions. Basically the guys who call women overly emotional a lot think that way. And then there is also the deification that might sound good surface level but is also dehumanizing. Mainly because being deified as some divine being doesn‘t allow you to have human problems or human flaws that women do have. This type of thinking is what frustrates women because it makes men talk over them and past them. It‘s when dudes dm you stuff like: „you‘re such a goddess“ or whatever and you just know he doesn‘t see you beyond what he has made up in his head that you are to him. Now imagine how difficult it‘d be to feel taken care of and also loved if someone denies you looking at you as in the actual you. Never actually cares about your ramblings. Never listens properly. Stuff like that, you are talking to a wall. And that in turn creates resentment in women. They get upset over things you think are well meaning but to the woman it is yet again the partner speaking over them and ignoring them. The problem is that for most women, dating men means dating someone who refuses to see you and your humanity. Someone who makes an avatar of you they talk to. And refuses to see you. Now how is that a relationship? Especially a romantic one? You‘re supposed to take a partner seriously. And also recognize their humanity. Putting effort into them. Caring about them genuinely. Not just nodding along to get them to do something for you. Lets say you were the woman and you go on a date. Now imagine if your date was obviously not interested in what you talk about but condecendingly acts like they are. While also hiding their intentions and not being real. And on top of that they also compliment your appearance but from how they listen to you you are pretty sure none of that is real. How would you feel if that was your date? Would you be into that? Or would you be confused and also weirded out and frustrated? But that is a big part of dating for women. Being lied to to be exploited, being talked down to, not being listened to. It is so frustrating cause it‘s not a relationship it‘s just objectification. In the end women get angry when most men act that way. When they fabricate a fake version of any woman they meet they talk to while the woman underneath feels neglected and ignored. If you want a personal intimate relationship you have to see women as your equal and also open up and talk to them. Not an ideal or a assumption if who they are. That is what is actually what women want. And if you can‘t even do that, why would any woman feel safe or taken care of by you as a partner. When the man they are with is like a brick wall that treats them like a toy with no humanity. Or a fantasy version of them that doesn‘t exist. Women are people. U should treat them as such. And actually be interested in them. So listen, learn, broaden your horizon. Otherwise you cannot say you love women if you care so little about them and their experiences.

I’m a highly qualified professional woman with multiple degrees. I married at 40, after being pretty sure that I wouldn’t marry at all. I have many female friends who are still single in their 50’s and who are also highly qualified professional woman. They are intelligent, charitable, empathic, well read and generally good people. We’ve all been in relationships with verbally, emotionally and physically abusive men. None of my married female friends have relationships with men which I aspire to or admire or even envy. We have ALL of us settled for men who are emotionally immature, demanding, and pathetic. The fairy tales which end with ‘happily ever after’ are lies fed to young girls to keep women in the patriarchy to make us accept all of the BS men dole out.

There is a point where both men and women’s standards become unobtainable and unrealistic and when that happens you see people point fingers at each other but there’s one caveat. None of it is real. It’s only for terminally online people who spend more time on the internet than anything else. Most normal people will have 3 points of criteria that a partner has to meet and most of the time it’s “care about me” and that’s enough for most people. When men say they don’t need women they are lying when women say they don’t need men they are lying.

The difference between the women's movement and men's movement is that women are just stating their lived experiences and stating what they will no longer tolerate. The men's movement's goal seems to be to imvalidate what women feel and want. The system is set up for them, but equality is "unfair." Give me a break! I love all the men in my family, as well as friends and co-workers. I want them to be happy and thrive. And they are/and do because they have emotional intelligence and don't treat their significant others as servants. Women haven't had the luxury to compromise, because society was set up to oppress us. We are not the ones who need to change. We can't expect women to be responsible for fixing the fact that men can't cope. They have to fix this themselves. I know they can. They need to support each other in positive ways, instead of in toxicity. Enough is enough.

just don’t settle. be realistic and know everyone has flaws just like you. they’re human beings, male or female. stop looking for people to tell you what you should want & find it for yourself. if being alone works, great. I think it’s ridiculous to believe an entire gender is out to get you, hope that you suffer and want you in the worst position possible. then once that belief has been developed, go into the world treating humans you’ve never met before as an adversary & judge them based off flaws and shortcomings as if you have none. everyone is trying to figure this out but nobody has patience for or understanding of themselves, let alone an ENTIRE gender. can we start conversations about being better people to our children and significant others… this is getting played out.

People always try to shame women when we don’t want to give into the pressures of society. If a woman don’t want to get married and have kids people tell us we will end up old, sad and lonely or have a bunch of cats. That woman might enjoy her cats more compared to being in a relationship where she is not happy. So the tradwife content, I believe, is largely performative. Most of these women have plenty of money and have a nanny or in home childcare to make content as well as a team for their videos. The only issue I really see is women being influenced to believe that homemaking is a simple and romantic way of life and potentially put themselves at risk of financially and emotionally abusive partners by essentially giving up their rights even within the home. Im a stay at home mom/homemaker in a single income/low income household. It requires a very healthy and trusting relationship between the money maker and the homemaker in order for it to work. It's not easy or simple. Its hard work and ill probably go back to some form of income earning when my children start school but right now this is what we can afford and i dont want my kids in daycare. I dont trust anyone with my babies and its extremely expensive. Ladies, protect your wombs! Do not settle with men who dont respect you or value your input and opinions. Don't put yourself in potentially harmful situations in order to attain an influencer lifestyle. ETA: the stay at home wives that dont have children and glorify being a homemaker make me giggle. Try curling your hair and putting on makeup "for your husband" when your kids are throwing paint at the wall and jumping off furniture.😂

He is trying to brainwash my son into misogyny and how to look down on women. They believe that no matter what they do to you, they never apologize, never explain themselves, don't take women seriously because everything they say is a "shit test," never acknowledge their pain or suffering, etc. They are also told it's okay for men to cheat. Gender roles will revert to the historic norm once the free money runs out and we’ll see then the value of a women to society. On top of that the future belongs only to those who have children. To those who choose not to do this fine, they’ll die out and be forgotten. Can’t help but wonder how disrespectful that is to all the prior millennia of generations that sacrificed and struggled to ensure the current generation exist at all. I dont think its PERMANENTLY ending them. But, although THERE ARE A LOT, of GOOD MEN, there are SOME men who needs to... in the lack of better words "go talk to the brick wall" for a while. We just need to have a period of time where, women needs to go "to the other side of the wall", and "wait it out". NOT as blackmail, not as a punishment, not to be mean to men, or "to be clever". I think for a lot of women, it has gotten USELESS to talk to men, because we ASK to be treated better, we ASK them to be more considerate, we talk with them eye to eye, we are VERY CLEAR, but if he then ALWAYS thinks HIS WAY IS BETTER, and constantly CONSTANTLY "forgets" why we feel that some things they do are HURTFUL, and TO NOT DO THOSE THINGS PLEASE. Now, as a very blunt person (woman) I can understand the other side of the equation as well, this CANNOT be a "control the man via him walking on eggshells around you"-thing EITHER. But if we have IN FACT asked you to please NOT do a specific thing, or in general behave badly towards us, and the guy STILL DOES NOT LISTEN and KEEPS ON DOING IT...then Im not gonna consider myself in a relationship. Then I am in fact being ignored. Then I am, in fact ALREADY alone, even though we are two in the room. And the dude, kinda is too. Because then Im just a piece of furniture or a houseplant, because NOTHING I say, MATTERS, and therefore I CLEARLY DONT MATTER EITHER. At least not more than the toaster, that gives him toast, or the microwave to warm up his tv dinner. Im human, NOT a (bleeping!) convenient appliance. "She can MAKE him a better man"-concept doesnt work either. You cant MAKE someone better, unless they want to first LISTEN, and also WANT to be better themselves. What do they want women to do ARMWRESTLE MEN INTO SUBMISSION ? Yeah No, DONT EVEN START. If you cant even hear us over the fortnite game, dont bother complaining. (and no, Im not saying you cant play, I love gaming, but if thats more IMPORTANT...bye!) I think what we women, have done wrong not just this generations but GENERATIONS BACK is, something like the "quantity of seamlessness" we perform. We do things, we dont say peep about it, because we just want EVERYBODY to enjoy themselves, without a fuss, or making a big deal, and then, it just became "expected" and "perpetuated". And, since people love being comfortable, THEY GET USED TO IT. Im gonna start saying like moms did in the 80s to their toddlers "what do we say (name)?", and if the person DOESNT say thank you, it goes in the bin or down the drain or OUT THE (BLEEPING) window. Unless its chocolate. Im EATING THE CHOCOLATE then. AND the icecream. To all my male relatives and "prospects". RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. Also, IVE NEVER looked down on housewives. I think its risky, though. I would at least have some small source of income thats mine, that I can do from home, but Im not interested in the housewife thing so its irrelevant to me. IT IS good for the kids, but, is it GOOD FOR THE WOMAN ? Think about it. If the man should die in a car accident or some other sudden thing, what the (bleep!) is she gonna do to provide for the kids, without experience, or possibly even an education?Nah, to risky, EVEN FROM A TRADITIONAL STANDPOINT. Not these days, with what EVERYTHING costs. But Ive never looked down on housewives. I just think its stupid and risky for THE FAMILY to "put all your eggs in the same basket" a.k.a. "the man and his salary".

As someone who was raised, very much trained to be a tradwife and ended up, shockingly, in a horribly DV relationship (he was so horrid I can't even talk to friends about what happened cos it upsets them so much and I'm physically and mentally disabled since leaving him), I have two amazing kids but raise them to know they don't have to rely on traditional romance relationships to be happy, that friendships are just as special and they should never settle. I'm so much happier without the weight of dealing with mens BS. When I've tried dating, once the initial love bombing good behaviour period is over, men are so unwilling to adapt with the times. Not all men, obvs, but enough men that it's worth it for most of us to be single and enjoy life on our terms.

Many women wind up alone in their later years anyway because women live longer than men. I’m 68 and almost all of my friends (or my 70 year old sister’s friends) husbands have passed. Either because of cancer, heartache or accident. So you still may be alone as an older woman. So many women are content with being alone with their cats or even if they did have a child, they are fine with babysitting their grandchildren. Also, lots of older women travel, spent lots of time with their friends, volunteer and just live their lives. It’s not this lonely tragic life that men imagine it to be. A lot of what men are saying is their projection of what they imagine their single older life will be. Because men don’t cultivate relationships with their children or families like women do. I have a 40 year old nephew. He’s got 4 kids by 4 different women. He said himself that he can’t be alone. He hates being alone. He goes from woman to woman trying to mask his mental issues. He keeps thinking that the next woman is going to solve his problems but it’s him, not the woman. Lots of women just stop dating men and just reevaluate themselves. They do the mental and emotional work to be better people. Men don’t tend to do that. They blame all of their problems on women.
