This video is great. I love geography and Mario kart, so this is 2 of my favorite things combined. I saw a couple landmarks you may have missed though. They are: Mount Fuji-Tokyo Blur Asakusa Shrine, the building in front of you after you pass under Kaminarimon (you probably said it with a different name)-Tokyo Blur Uluru-Sydney Sprint

Makes total sense that the more accurate city tracks are the ones that focus on a very specific area of the real world city it's based on, since that way there isn't as much of a need for creative liberties when everything is closer together. Very informative video, good job!

Funny how Singapore and Athens are the most accurate while being the best tracks.

Great video! Loved the humor and detail you put into analyzing each track. Makes me appreciate the city tracks more. Hopefully we'll get a Boston track one day.

I've noticed exactly 7 tracks in Mario Kart Tour / 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass take place in cities that are also in Tony Hawk's Underground Pro and that got me wondering about other games that are set in real-world locations Like the cities in Assassin's Creed games, the depictions of New York City in Spider-Man games, Tokyo is in way too many games to list but a handful of appearances of the city come to mind If this were some kind of series, then I think that's something I'd like to watch Anyway, cool vid

in my opinion there need to be more city tracks in the game, like: edinburgh in scotland beijing in china honolulu in hawaii cairo in egypt rio de janerio in brazil las vegas in nevada sapporo in japan and mexico city in mexico

i think cairo and rio de janeiro are 2 key cities of the 2 missing continents. there is a track for every continent (assuming ice ice outpost is Antarctica)

Excellent video! I would suggest you make a shorter cut for this, or even a cut for reels, and it would blow up really well. This is some solid research!

Good video but I'm not a fan of the viewing of geographical inaccuracies as inherently bad or unintentional mistakes like what this video does as, beyond it coming off as pretty presumptuous, I think it unfairly ignores a clear design philosophy in which real life accuracy has been purposely forgone in favour of creating track layouts that are overall fun, interesting and allow for as much represenation and variety as possible. With that being said this is still a good video as I said - it was very well made and was clearly created out of genuine love and care for both Mario Kart, geography and the idea of detail. Keep up the good work.

Wait... i thought Bangkok was in India Anyway, on December of last year i revisited Rome (last time i visited it was in 2013/2014) and some are accurate, others are not (as usual), but the glider ramp that will make you soar the Fontana di Trevi, realistically it will make the player crash into the statues.

32 religious imagery in my Mario Kart game? That’s asinine! I’m kidding, but this has been a phenomenal watch considering myself as a future avid traveler! I loved the city tracks even if they had lots of inaccuracies, to the point that I’ve made concepts for Atlanta (my home city), San Francisco (unofficially titling it as San Francisco Breeze), and even tried to make a rough sketch for a Fairbanks Alaska track although that’s a doozy to make.

To be fair Singapore is the smallest city track by area in the real world so it is easier to replicate it.
