when this is finished, would you consider collabing with some folks that are good at making rom hacks in order to make this explorable? i'd love to play as link, exploring the unflooded hyrule. i've always wanted to see something like this. make a nice little game of it, y'know?
@Will_ForgeКүн бұрын
Even if it's just an Unreal Engine third person controller base project with the world since that can walk around and jump without any other work. Just tune the jump height and movement speed and let us wander around. Obviously I'd prefer a full blown Windwaker rom hack too, but if that would take too much work and time I'd still like to wander around the world in a lesser UE way.

@@Will_Forge Well you could just open the file in blender and use the walk navigation option which has enough to allow you to explore the space in first person
@Will_Forge22 сағат бұрын
@TheGrayKPlays true, I forgot about that. But does that let you jump? I'd get really frustrated with exclusively walking with all these cliffs and slopes.

@@TheGrayKPlays Oh man, well I take that back! The only thing left for the UE version would be the ease of sharing it. A single boot and immediate controls on both M&K and controller. With Blender you already have to at least understand the program and how to access that mode. But other than that one level of convenience it seems no different. I guess one more layer is that there may be someone out there with an UE Zelda approximation already done and ready to plug this terrain into. I mean, hell, I'm making an indie UE5 game that's akin to Zelda's style of play. Maybe when OP's project is done 'I' could be the guy who does that. It may not feel fully like Zelda, but I could put some stuff in that does. For example, I have a BotW style glider in the game right now not as a final gameplay element but as a learning exercise off of some YT tutorials. Maybe I could put a crude WW Deku Leaf in there or something. Okay, now this would be a huge distraction from an already ambitious project, and I know it would be great for getting my name out there if OP collabs with me on that and pins a link to my own YT channel... so yeah no promises, but at OP gets nearer to finished I'll see if I'm nearer to finished as well. The funny thing is that if I do this then it will also potentially be multiplayer if I've gotten that part of my project ready by then, which would be even cooler (big if). OP and I may even be able to do a stream wandering around the world. But again, no promises. I'm not exactly working fast on my own project. 😅

Have you considered adding the Wind Tribe in the clouds from Minish Cap? That tribe likely would have survived the flood given they can walk on the clouds, and it would be cool to have their wind temple and stuff.

@windwakerhyrule looking forward to continuing seeing the progress on this project, do you think someone could import this model to a wind waker engine so we could perhaps explore it as link when its done?
@CasualRoninКүн бұрын
I know I've only started watching this series earlier this year (and only comment sporadically because I don't always have something of note to add and I don't want to keep saying add Mt. Crenel or Minish Woods or some other Minish Cap location) but I'm always down to watch an update of this project and hear your thoughts on the world building and what to add. It's genuinely just a really cool project and it's good to see someone very passionate about it.

I feel like "Goron City" would be either underground in a huge lava dome or off the side of the hyrule map. Except off the map in that direction is aparently ocean. Goron City could still be an island but I don't think so. So Instead it would probably be much like your castle town but over lava underground maybe inhabited by a dragon who evicted the gorons onto the surface I believe that was a plot in one game.

You could add a Deku village like the one in Echoes of Wisdom.

You forgot the 8th statue, are you going to have it in a different location just like in breath of the wild or are you going to have it with the other seven because it is implied that the 8th statues moved away from the other seven Stewart's blue to its new location, so where are you going to have this world take place in the timeline, pre 8th statue move or post 8th statue move?

Sorry for double commenting like this, but I have a massive scope creep request for you. Have you considered expanding the map to be the full Zelda II: The Adventure of Link world map, of which the new Hyrule in Spirit Tracks actually heavily matches up with the topology of the eastern islad region? Because on that map the primary Hyrule region is just the southern tip and coast of the western regions. Depending on how you reinterpret the size of each region, this could septuplet your work load, but, you know, it WOULD be cool to see new hyrule off to the east, and a whole new area we never see in any other game up to the northwest. And anyway, it should be super easy, barely an inconvenience. 😉

As tempted as I am to multiply the size of the project lol, I think I need to basically just limit it to the scope of WW’s original sea chart

@@windwakerhyrule I absolutely understand. I'm making a game in UE5 and am very prone to scope creeping myself if I don't tell myself "no", because by default I dream big. 😆

Dreaming big’s important - this project’s already big and I don’t regret that lol - but it is important to make limits eventually. Let me know how your game goes - that’s exciting!

@windwakerhyrule thanks! It's gonna be a good bit like Zelda and assassin's creed, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it if I can get it finished and launched one day. Still a long way off, though. 🫡

With the ceiling being high, the top entrance to the Temple of the Gods seems unnecessary as is, have you considered adding sky islands to the map like the Skyloft from either TP or SS or Tears Water Temple? Additionally, in A Link to the Past there’s several locations in the woods with fake swords. With multiple varying locations of the Temple of Time throughout the series, maybe adding all the different Temples of Time with their respective versions of the Master Sword in the pedestals?

Shouldn't there be eight heroines? In BotW the eight was clearly moved because there is a place for one, but the sword is also fallen in a completely different place to where the eighth heroines body is located. You could put an eighth someone else in Unflooded OR maybe whatever event caused the eighth to be moved didn't occur in Wind Waker. You do you, of course.

Given that BoW & TotK are set so many eras later than WW that these statues might not have existed yet at all, how important is the number of statues?
