5:24 our Kokoko for igbos 🇳🇬 is called ibu mmanyi( wine carrying) -Where the groom comes with his Uncle's or the men in his family to the bride's house to meet the bride's father to declare his intentions to ask for the hand of the bride in marriage from her father With wine as a gift. The bride and her mother are usually not present just the men.

Hi Vanessa, can you do videos on naming children, funerals our customs..not just the Akan also the other tribes like the Ga's and Ewe's. I love these videos. It helps a lot of us in the diaspora know our customs..not all of our parents sit us down and teach us about our culture.

Absolutely beautiful video!!! I am so glad that you explained things so clearly. Sadly, some Westerners have so many negative misconceptions about Ghanaian (and other non-Western weddings). They also misconstrue the significance of the bride price, and they think that marriages won’t be blessed if they don’t happen in a church.
