The ghost town Neum! 🇧🇦

You came to Neum on a cold rainy off season day, thats why it is a ghost town, also there are only about 3000 people living there, and off season some go traveling. You see a lot of Croatian flags there because majority of people living there are Catholics and they consider themselves Croatian even though they are living in region of Bosnia Herzegovina, so anywhere in Bosnia Herzegovina you see Croat flags it means that region is mostly Catholics Croats and they want that region to belong to Croatia not Bosnia Herzegovina, although some are reconsidering that idea now since Croatia is in EU and life there is more expensive now.

The Actual town where everybody hangsout and where the shops are and caffes hotels beaches all of that is like a mile down the road by the sea, that is where the locals only live and sleep at the old town on top of the hill.

The territory got captured by Republik Bosnia back in the war but because 'Hercegovina as a region' is a mix of ethnic groups where croats live the most. This is also the reason why they put everywhere a croatian flag as reminisce

Because Croatia, and Bosnia too, are already full of tourists. I came from Sarajevo and Mostar. The citys have been full of people already. This is why I was wondering.

@@MarvinMagellan yes but you don't know, neum isn't just a usual tourist-y town, people specifically only go there for the sea, and because it is still too cold to swim, no one is visiting. No matter if it's november or june, if water's cold = no tourists. Sarajevo and mostar are different, sarajevo is the capital so of course there are tourists throughout the year, mostar is considered our prettiest city, and warmest, so again makes sense for there to be tourists. Hope you visit again when the weather gets better, so far it's been way to rainy. It's like we're in the UK ffs :D

Also mostly people from B&H go to neum, tourists from other countries go to croatia(mostly not all)

Didn't know that. I thought in may there are already some tourists. I stayed there only for two days, so totaly fine :P It was still an experience. I definitely wanna come back to beautiful bosnia one day!!

Yes. You are right. I came from Mostar and Sarajevo though. They were already full of tourists. Dubrovnik in croatia the same. Why not in Neum as well?

hello, can advise me how can go there from sarajevo directly to neum by bus, but trough in Bosina, without schengen and not pass by Crotia.

@@isilmaydos I traveled from Sarajevo to Mostar and then I took a bus in Mostar to Neum. But I crossed the croatian border. I dont think there is a bus to Neum from Mostar which stays inside bosnia. Not sure though. There is definitly no train. Only thing you can do is get a taxi. It will cost you around 60 Euros I guess. I dont know any alternative without entering croatia.
