It constantly amazes me that true human history reads more like a fantasy novel than a history book. With giants and dragons and creatures unlike anything still alive today. Magics and battles of the spiritual and physical realms. Lifetimes that span centuries, and lost ancient technologies that we are only beginning to understand the true scope of. Great episode guys, I really can't wait for part 2! God truly is mighty and wonderful!

I always feel kinda bad that I want dragons to be real.
@attackofthehog11 ай бұрын
@@Yesica1993 Answers in Genesis has a few really good videos on the subject. The long short of it is that if the Bible and legends and writings from literally all over the world are to be believed, then dragons were very much alive until ~1400 when the accounts of them really drop off. Granted, there are accounts into the 1980s of flying creatures that match the description of a pterodactyl almost exactly. So basically, dragons were very real. We just know them by a slightly different name that came about in the 1800s which means "terrible lizard".

It used to be a part of Russian Empire and later USSR till 1991. Now it's an independent state. Terrorism and extremism is not tolerated there. Everyone (women and children included) have the rights, education is compulsory for everyone. And it's been like this since 1920s at least. This nation does not produce religious extremists en masse and never did.

Uzbeks guard their borders well, from drug cartels, illegals, terrorists, etc. They don't need any of that in their country. Speaking of beauty, Uzbekistan is a tourist destination and approx 5 million foreign tourists visit it every year. Not everyone's first choice obviously🤭 but for people interested in ancient Turk and Central Asian civilizations and architecture - it's a great place to visit. Just a small thing about Nimrod. The name Nimrod has become an insult today, typically meaning a foolish person, thanks to the unexpected work of Bugs Bunny. Likely due to misunderstanding what Mighty Hunter meant in Nimrod’s case, Bugs sarcastically refers to his typical nemesis, the Hunter Elmer Fudd, as “Nimrod” at least once and it certainly sounds like an insult. This caught on colloquially throughout America. Thus today, the glory this Giant Tyrant once claimed for himself has been turned to mockery thanks to a Cartoon Bunny. Thanks for that! I have to admit I had to turn the video off for a second at that point; you've put it in perspective for me. It's a great show, even if that disappointed me. I'm not even fully committed to dispensationalism. I'm just annoyed with how trendy it's become to say really nasty things about people who hold it nowadays.I believe it has to do with it being the previous "trend" in American protestantism. This Postmil Reformed replacement thing is the current trend, and something else will be the next trend in a decade or so. Doesn't mean any veiw is wrong just for being a fad, (one WILL take place in the end) but it's not the New Revealed Truth either, and old views that are unpopular will come back around if Jesus tarries His coming.

Christians need a military tactician mindset. The military planner doesn't say, "Scoff, enemy bad, we must not study the enemy, because enemy is bad." And you can't fully understand the victory of Christ in this cosmic war of you don't understand the enemy and the enemy history and enemy behavior, tactics, strategy, etc. The Bible comes alive after understanding the cosmic war and cosmic enemy.

In Gilgamesh the monster in the cedar forest is Huwawa, which may be linked to YWHW. Hebrew word for 'to be' is hayah, and obviously yahweh is derivative from this verb. The villain in Gilgamesh sounds very similar to the Lord's name. Maybe Gilgamesh was Nimrod? Gilgamesh is also depicted as very large holding a lion up off the ground by its neck. That would have took some height and strength.

Big fan. Love every podcast. None in my congregation talk about these things, while I want to lead a bible study strictly on these topics. Not sure how to broach this topic to my church.

Trees of Mamre were GIANT trees. You can still see the huge holes they made in the solid bedrock at Mamre!

Amazing, like always! Been hooked from day 1, but could you PLEASE, give us a Google Drive folder with the hi res posters and images that you use for episodes? If you want a paywall there are options for that too, can we just get our hands on them? Thank you!
