I met Little Richard at the Nashville Airport years ago; his chauffer introduced us in his limo; I told him "The Girl Can't Help It" was one of my favorite movies; him & Jayne Mansfield together on screen! Wow!" & he laughed & said "But I do believe I pulled it off! Whooooo!!" R.I.P. you wonderful man!

Before drugs, Dallas, riots, Viet Nam and car Jack's. It's so terrible to feel that those were, well, 'happy days'? Sorry guys, they were.

@DUCKDUCKGOISMUCHBETTER3 жыл бұрын
The video quality was always superb in every movie all the way back. When they look crappy in KZbin it is just because of the way they were uploaded, and from a poor source. If you saw this in a theater, from the original film source, you'd realize how limited even this fairly decent quality KZbin resolution is. Film is vastly higher resolution than 4K, and probably 8K as well

I saw this first release print when I was in high school. In that one, there's a close up shot of Little Richard leering at Jayne suggestively as she crosses the nightclub while he's singing the title tune. Needless to say, that was soon chopped from successive prints.

While it is generally said that Vikki Dougan was the inspiration for the character Jessica Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", I have often thought that Jayne Mansfield, in particular this specific scene and this spectacular red dress, might have had something to do with the inspiration for Jessica Rabbit as well. Especially for the red dress that Jessica wore in the animated film.
