About Hoopa's name: Hoopa is clearly a wordplay for hula hoop and Oopart(Out of place artefact) for objets found in a place where they should not be(ex: a phone found inside a egyptian pyramid). But also from the french expression "Ou pas" wich means litteraly "Or not" or more like saying "Nope".

This is a theory still but on the topic of Hoopa, it’s very likely that Hoopa transported the real world Palace of Versailles into the Kalos Region as there’s depictions of real world painting and people in the Parfum Palace

Lockstin went out of his way to fix all the errors in it. What a mad lad. As I said before I'd love to see a region based of these 3 areas The middle East China and subsaharan Africa I really feel that Africa doesn't get much love in video games as a whole. Not only that in these 3 areas there are a lot of folk tales you can base new pokemon on. It would be epic.

I feel like those three are great ideas for areas, but also pretty big and should be narrowed down. For example, Tibet alone would be substantially larger most real-world counterparts to pokemon regions. I'd be fine with having a pokemon region based on a larger area, but those three regions specifically have so many different cultures and/or geographical features that each could be used for multiple different regions like how Japan alone was used for gen 1-4 regions.

Jinns are still believed to this day, and most Muslims consider them real 2. It is believed that Jinns usually do not show themselves, but travel through our world, some even living on Earth 3. Some Jinns are good while others are bad, but if the good Jinns are angered they can harm you, but it is not common 4. Do not say the Jinn and Djinn out loud as saying their name attracts them 5. Evil Jinns do show themselves to people to scare them Thanks for listening to my long speech.

Incineroar is very much under appreciated as a Pokémon with the perfect execution of its appeal to the fan base, when incineroar first leaked many believed it to be anooooother fire and fighting type, cause and effect was that incineroar grew the ire of the fan base before it even was released, Sun and Moon come out and it revealed to be a wrestling Pokémon specifically a heel, the bad guy in the wrestling, the heel Pokémon went in to be a bipedal dark type much to the ire of the fan base again as they wanted a four legged fire type, but the thing that make incineroar my favorite is that it does not care what anyone else thinks about it and will play the bad guy to its very much enjoyment, it is such a good heel that it is even a heel in real life and the designers of incineroar love it, so much that they even put him in Smash Bro’s

I thought you were gonna mention Erlang Sheng. Sheng? Shen? But Erlang Sheng is a noble warrior god. It's been a while since I studied a bit of this, so I hope my memory serves me correctly. Sheng was the most powerful warrior the heavens had and was ordered by the king of the Chinese pantheon of gods to defeat Wukong. And boy, Wukong finally met his match. They would battle many a time with most matches ending in a draw. Sheng being the more powerful warrior, and Wukong being the more intelligent warrior. Even when Sheng would defeat Wukong, Wukong would outsmart the warrior god and escape. Sheng eventually decided he needed to outsmart Wukong. Wukong's behavior reminded me of a Disney villain, if I recall. Ego and all. If I remember correctly, Sheng used Wukong's ego to outsmart him and capture Wukong once and for all. Then, Wukong was sentenced to be be held under a mountain. I forget how long but I know it's somewhere between 100-1000 years. Eventually that time passes. Goddess of mercy finds him. Offers him release from is cage as long as he becomes her deciple. And she, Guan Yin gives Sun Wukong that ring shaped crown that makes him behave. She's a goddess of mercy, not a goddess of gulliblness. She knows he's a trickster.

Videos like this make me realise how sheltered my life really was. Theres so many things about cultures across the world that I either didn't know at all or totally misunderstood because of racist undertones. I'm only just starting to understand Islamic culture more now because I'm trying to make an effort to. I may not agree with the Islamic faith, nor do I agree with Christian faith or any faith, but I allowed that to turn into a racist dismissal of such a massive part of the world that became hatred. I'm so glad that I'm starting to open my eyes, even if I have a long way to go. I hope many others can see this too and realize how we can be brought up to believe these racist ideas so thoroughly that we don't even realize they're racist. To be clear I mean our portrayal of asians and middle eastern peoples in just about everything in western culture.

In Warframe there's a frame called Nezha and they use the rings as well. I especially enjoyed this part of the video. Found out about Nezha, Wukong (also in Warframe), infernape, all sorts of stuff 😩💕

"are you saying that one of the very few, most obviously middle-east inspired pokemon is actually chinese?" "yes, yes I am."

Hey Lockstin, I wanna thank you for this video especially! Would love to see more gen 6 content - it felt kind of lore-light and you're great at filling in the gaps. My friend and I have our own lore-building project and Kalos has been a wild ride.

I find it fascinating that an anonymous story teller somewhere on the road between the Middle East and China centuries ago inspired a character in the most successful media franchise ever.

I liked the Manaphy, the Lucario, the Latias/Latios and darkrai. . . Hard to rank them, quite a bit time has passed since I have seen any. Maybe 1 Darkrai, 2. Lucario, 3 manaphy, 4 latias/latios.

Meloetta. One of my favourite Mythical Pokemon but I hardly ever hear anyone actually talk them.

Yeah it is reposted. Apparently some things in the video were spelled backwards or something? I think it is explained in the pinned comment

Fun Fact: Ne Zha was (at least in one tale) often fighting his father who lost. If I recall the story correctly, the father comes across the Buddha of Light who teaches him a spell to summon a Pagoda. With that spell he defeats his son who swears to change his ways and now the father is called the Heavenly Pagoda carrier.
