Well, it misses some fills before the "chorus" to equate George's version.

He's easily the closest I've heard to George Hurley. The crazy part about George, though? He would look RELAXED playing the exact same thing!

I've been an almost lifelong fan of The Minutemen since about 83. Of course everything has been said about Watt. The introduction of the organ is great. But what I don't get tin these comments is the accolades paid to the drummer. Yes, he is superb: but he is doing (pretty much) what George Hurley was doing thirty years ago. But I did enjoy this set! D. Boon RIP.

Jerry's the man but he and Watt have had their tensions over the years. It's something that seems to have had some closure now though. Watt chronicled it in his hootpage journal entries in the early 00's
@sutiszorny80392 жыл бұрын
George did it 30 years ago, but nowadays you don't see this much soul. This is why we appreciate it a lot.

And today (Dec. 22, 2020) marks the 35th anniversary of d. Boone’s death at the age of 27 in a traffic accident. The axel fell off of his van while he was resting in the back. For punk rock in Los Angeles, that is the day the music died. Mike Watt did amazing work with fIREHOSE (and other bands) after that, but it definitely broke a part of his heart forever.

At first I was like what the hell type of stuff of this guy running his guitar through. I was like cool sound definitely different then D's. I have seen Watt with the Minutemen, firehose, Banyan, and a solo gig. But never heard this done with this arrangement it's great using on the organ in there is genius on a couple levels.

@@commentsenabled9963 You need to get educated on the difference between fIREHOSE and the Minutemen. You couldn't be more wrong.
@commentsenabled99633 жыл бұрын
@@Wynterspop EdFromOhio was the vocalist for the Minutemen- he is from Stuebenville Ohio, the opulent home town of Traci Lords and Dean Martin. This band they call the Sceondmen (see video) is not even a listed band on Wiki and these guys are just pretending to act like the Original one-and-only Minutemen. The fact that you are claiming the Sceondmen is even a band with a Minutemen "original," player is clearly false because the Sceondmen DOES NOT EVEN EXIST! Read the internet for once and get educated!
