Great video on the Pixel 6a - I purchased my (standard) Pixel 6 in late October 2021 and aside from the "slightly slow but always worked" fingerprint sensor which has gotten extremely better over the past few months and especially since the Android 13 update, I have never experienced the alleged bugs and issues some users experienced and as far as the battery life is concerned, my phone is regularly fully charged at 7:00am and by 11:00pm there's around 20% - I consider myself a moderate to moderately heavy user, no gaming whatsoever except for free cell, but a lot of You Tube/video viewing, texting, Internet browsing, FB posting and picture taking! I'm extremely happy with my Pixel 6! The only thing I would've liked would have been either 256GB of internal storage or the option to insert a micro SD card for expandable storage.

You talk bad about Motorola but the battery on my Moto stylus 5g is insanely awesome. And the fingerprint sensor on the back works incredible as well and a pretty good LCD. Plus it still has a headphone jack. All for 300 bucks.

I have a Samsung A51. However, my brother has a Moto G Play which has lower specs but he really likes the device. It has a headphone jack, SD card slot and even Google pay. I envy the 5000 capacity battery. Because I have an Amoled display on my phone I can tell the difference between our devices but it doesn't matter in my opinion. I think that it gets lost that some people want to call, text, use a handful of apps and simply have a smartphone that works. Oh yeah, and not spend a lot.

Well you've got that 20 core GPU that can really kick some graphical ass when it's not overheating and throttling like crazy. Once heated up, the gpu performance just drops like crazy. It's perfect for emulation

People need to stop calling $500 phones budget phones lol 🤣. But I do have the 6a. I've had it almost 2 weeks now. It's a great phone overall. My two biggest issues are the fingerprint sensor which got worse from android 12 to 13. And after going to android 13 the battery life got noticeably worse. Seems to be getting a bit better after a few days. Otherwise, I feel like people obsess too much over the 60 Hertz display and wireless or fast charging. The bezels also don't matter to me because we get all screen. The 6a is a phone that gets the basics right. A great screen, good dual speakers, IP 67, 5 years of overall support, decent battery life and a nice compact design. For $480 you can't do much better than the 6a.

I have the 6 and the screen brightness is terrible The speakers are also very low and need to be turned out almost to 80 percent before u can even hear any noise at all. I highly doubt the 6a is better in these arenas. It's quite sad when people just accept it and don't have the guts to call Google out for the inferior parts and or terrible software tuning they offer.

I got this phone and I can tell it's not a really exciting phone but ok for the price and the fact that I got $300 trade in for my 4a + free Google buds. However, at least my phone, has a terrible GPS problem where it's constantly "searching for GPS" and I have to calibrate Google maps frequently. I'm somewhat regretful I got it... Should have waited for the Pixel 7...

I just returned The Pixel 6a and I am going back to the 4a. I had connection issues and had to reset the phone multiple times a day. I did not at the same places (work) with the 4a. The in screen fingerprint scanner is terrible. It's slow and doesn't always recognize my fingerprint. The fingerprint scanner on the back of the 4a is great and instantly unlocked my phone plus I can pull down the notification menu with the scanner in back of the 4a , such a nice feature that is gone with the in screen scanner on the 6a. It doesn't seem faster on anything that my 4a did great, streaming video, games, music, on my 4G LTE network. Picture quality is also not worth being as FRUSTRATED as I was multiple times a day with the fingerprint scanner and the connection issues. The 4a takes great pics anyway. This phone is not worth the upgrade from a Pixel 4a. I don't recommend it at all. I will look for another phone but for now the 4a is great. So disappointed

Totally agree. Traded in my 5a for the 6a, and the fingerprint scanner is so terrible, I'm entering in my 4 digit pin over half the time. Not to mention that in the dark or bright day, it's hard to see where on the screen to put your finger. The fingerprint scanner on the back of my 5a was easy to instantly find without looking, and like you said, unlocked the phone instantly. Didn't know I had the option of returning this phone, and probably well past any return period.

They do. Samsun gets the android version about 2-3 months later than google pixel devices, so you end up on the same version in the end anyway, as well as both providing 5 years total ones anyway

Why is noone addressing the utterly overagressive "bokeh" effect of the portrait photos? It almost looks comical or at least extremely lazy programmed on almost every picture I take of a person. I come from a Huawei P30 and so far, it's far superior on the camera side. Quite the disappointed I have to say.

To clarify: this only affects the main camera. Selfies actually look very good, but the exagerrated blurr in combination with an already cropped picture (portrait mode for some reason crops to 1.2 times zoom, so you already loose resolution) is.....meh

however, phones at this price point that DO have 120hz and smaller bezels often sacrifice on battery, camera, and overall speed, if you want a quick feeling device, just get the 6a, Samsung Galaxy a53 is so slow, that even at 120hz, it still can't support 90hz.

Honestly, I think people made way too big a deal out of the 60 Hz refresh rate issue. Just look at the Samsung A53 5G, it has 120 Hz yet the Exynos 1280 is super laggy. So what good does a fast refresh rate on a laggy phone do? The Tensor chip in the 6A running on 60 Hz is way better and faster than the A53 at twice the refresh rate. Pixel phones are far from perfect but no phone realistically is perfect. They all have issues but if Google can work out all the software bugs they've had, Pixel's version of android will be the rival ecosystem to iOS. I opted to keep the 5a until the Tensor related issues can be refined and eliminated. Even with all the bugs and problems, Pixels are the best android experience in the market today.

It dépends what you value most. If you like scrolling in apps and feeds and if you expériences 120hz with a friend's phone, you can't go back. Until March, i was with my Samsung A8. Then i bought a 13 Pro with Promotion => i will never go back. I try phones at store and then make my choice 🙂

@@iAfroTech true it does depend on what you value most. I only had an iPhone 6S Plus and XR and neither had fast refresh rates. In android, I've only had 60 Hz too which is standard but again, it wasn't what I valued most. I value good overall performance in every area: good call quality, texts working, doing online stuff reasonable fast, and multitasking without any slow down. If you're a high end tech snob, then yes, you will want top of the line 120 Hz with all the bells and whistles. But at the price point for upper to mid range phones, very few offer 120 Hz and most are at around 90. Maybe once I get a phone with a high refresh rate, I'll be spoiled too but realistically, everyone already knew the 6A was going to be 60. I think too many people are complaining without being objective enough to realize that Google had to sacrifice something. I'd rather have high performance at 60 Hz than for any performance areas to suffer at higher refresh.

This phone is trash. God help you if you use Google Voice with this device. You will have the worst experience of your life. Proximity sensor doesn't work when in calls, so your ear/face is constantly interacting with the screen. I'm turning off bluetooth, changing settings. Phone is flimsy too. It has a significant bend in one side, and I'm not even wearing skinny jeans, nor so I work in a harsh environment. Google just needs to focus on software. All of their hardware is terrible.

I'm not so sure about this. IMHO the Motorola Stylus 5g (2022) at $299 seems to be the better deal. It's 2/3 the price of this Pixel & seems to be a decent phone. Perfect? Of course not but it's probably good enough for many users. It's too bad here in the US we have such a limited choice of mid tier phones while the rest of the world has plenty. I feel like Americans are being taken advantage of by having to spend so much on a device with a limited life span. Where is LG when we need them? 😢

I live in Europe where the Chinese phones are available and frequently very cheap, Xiaomi is good at that, but I ditched my Poco phone and got a Pixel 6A because it is small and more comfortable to hold, the screen is far better as are the cameras. It also has Android 13 a big bonus. The fingerprint sensor not being on the power button is the only drawback, but I find I only hold the power button to turn off the phone (send it to the lock screen, as soon as I pick up the 6a it lights up and wants me to press the fingerprint sensor, not hard to get used to.

The selfie camera thing is a hit or miss, yes, it has a higher resolution, however, google’s software pieces together multiple images so it will look better than on an s10, which is why googles 12.2mp camera can outshoot most 50mp sensors.
