They're only "conservative" in the sense of conserving the political landscape to those who are "in the club" rather than necessarily being ideologically or socially conservative. I remember TIK doing an excellent video showing how they're just a bunch of elitists who hide behind patriotism and one person made an interesting comment about how they aren't even as economically liberal as they present themselves to be, for instance during the 19th century they were in favor of using regulatory capture to ensure only their buddies could be involved in real estate.

We haven't had a choice until Trump. Even up-and-coming republican politicians who sound great do an about face when hitting the DC cesspool. I'm sure it doesn't help to have the intel agencies reading every electronic communication they'd ever written.
@screwgoogle49934 ай бұрын
You still think you have a choice? They rigged it like they always do, except this time they bragged about it. No, they weren't "caught". They bragged. You're going to cheer as Trump is selected by the same people who selected Biden and decided he's stopped being useful. "If the people want a hero, we'll them one." Look up that quote. The source will surprise you.

While I like Trump a lot, I don’t really care for the Republican Party at all. Mainly due to just how stale I find their talking points to be, and the fact that they are still effectively statists who claim to be in favor of small government, except for when large government suits their needs. In my opinion, if the GOP wants to evolve, they should look for fresher talking points, such as those found in right-wing libertarianism (the Hoppe kind, not the Jorgensen kind). But given how McCain, even in death, still has his war-mongering hands on the GOP, this is will most likely never happen.
