I am the video creator for Austin Masonic Lodge 12 in Austin, Texas. You have created and edited a very special video and video job very well done! Your narration is terrific. UGLE’s video’s doesn’t even come close to your talents! Texas is a AF&AM jurisdiction, so we get our ritual from you brethren in Scotland, might I say!!! Ancients & Moderns what a world…❤😂😅😮🎉 Keep up the great videos. Don’t stop until you have to sleep…

Nice video for public release, but am disappointed it touched but VERY lightly on the "REAL Purpose of Freemasonry" as implied by the title, namely that third of the three Great Articles of Noah: ...so that knowledge of God the Creator and an example of moral behaviour is passed on to others, that they may learn that one’s just deserts lie in the hands of the Creator.

IT seems to me that most of their money goes on the upkeep of their buildings, which are very nice, but yeah.

and charity donations :) did you know that just one foodbank activity in edinburgh distributed over 1.5 mil £ to deprived communities, and grand lodge donated and raised over 3 mil£ for prostate cancer scotland?
@PaulEcosseАй бұрын
@@JourneyDude Tbf there are about three homeless people in Edinburgh.
@JourneyDudeАй бұрын
@@PaulEcosse Currently, there are around 3,000 individuals facing homelessness that I’m aware of, with many more at risk of eviction soon. While we collaborate with homeless charities to provide support, there are limitations to what we can directly change. However, our efforts extend across numerous initiatives. For instance, we’ve raised £3 million for Cancer Scotland, supported the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Dean & Cauvin Trust, and the Community One Stop Shop. We even operate our own food bank, aiding deprived communities across Ayrshire, West Lothian, East Lothian, and beyond, including dementia care homes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we prepared and distributed 28,000 meals for those in need. These are just some of the causes I’ve been personally involved with-there are countless more examples of the work being done.

@@JourneyDude That always confuses me. The question asks "how old is your granny"?, Referring to a man's Mother Lodge...so why isn't the question "how old is your mother"?
@JourneyDudeАй бұрын
@@TheRealist2022 good question - In some traditions, "granny" could metaphorically signify wisdom and experience, qualities that a longstanding ML embodies. By extension, asking about "granny" may serve as a subtle nod to the L age for example :) its rarely used outside US
@TheRealist2022Ай бұрын
@@JourneyDude Rarely used outside USA. Well, I have heard it used several times here in the UK. But TBH, I don't have much time for that sort of thing. "Are you a travelling man"? "How old is your mother"? "Are you on the square"? Just say "are you a Mason?" I have found that usually, those phrases are often used by those who enjoy the little bit of mystery...the "I know something you don't know" types. Come on Brethren, let's move with the times. It's not the 19th century any more.

@dougie6886 If Freemasonry DID run the Scottish Parliament, it would be in a damn sight better state than it is right now! The revelations about the SNP senior leadership over the last few years is shameful in the extreme and makes the Scottish Parliament the subject of much (well deserved) ridicule.
