He sure is fun and has some great ideas, game would hardly be complete without his character. Tho i keep going back and forth, from: Ah yes, a good detective, he's figured this out already when none of the protags could ever guess. Great help, he might miss a few parts but he's smart and helps a ton; and his ego is too big, but it's funny. His deductions are actually rather good, he's one of the reasons certain lives were spared. to: Comic relief. He's funny, but always brings issues. I can't believe he made such an obvious mistake, put their lives in danger.. and how can he laugh during such times? He's nothing without the help of the protags. Does he even have good intentions? All very confusing.

Personally I’m still having a hard time fully accepting Susato after Speckled Band absolutely ruined my first impression of her, but I’ll admit that her post-SB attitude is much more tolerable thus far. If not for that case I probably would’ve liked her a lot more by this point, but as of right now she’s still very much on thin ice for me, especially when in THIS case (specifically when it came time to choose whether or not to defend Natsume) Naruhodo brought up how he felt when nobody believed in him during the SB incident and Susato didn’t show even a hint of shame despite being directly involved in Naruhodo’s suffering at the time (no matter how understandable her own grief may have been under the circumstances). Still, Susato DID sincerely apologize at the very end of SB, so for that reason alone I’m still trying to keep an open mind going forward.

Time for my great deduction! We've established Wilson and Sholmes work and live together. They also share the same tech, evident especially by their goggles. Wilson also adores Sholmes. Now, it was offhandedly mentioned that Wilson is a medical doctor of an undisclosed practice. During both the ship cruise and the introduction this time, Sholmes exhibits focusing and sever memory issues. The facts lead me to one conclusion! ....Sholmes is gonna be a depressing character real soon.

I love how, for the abuse that Van Zieks hurls towards Ryunosuke, they come around to working towards the truth at that turning point when Roly admits to his crime of tampering. 5:02:34 That is a really strong moment, and I don't think the newer instalments of the main series by the younger writers have ever recreated a scene like that with Cykes, or Apollo. Blackquill didn't seem to hit the same vibe, the same intensity as Van Zieks.
