For the showcase time periods, I try to think like tiger woods and try to peak for right on time for the 4 majors. Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Halloween. Halloween is the superbowl. letting the trick or treaters walk on the perfect lawn is the best moment of the whole year

Scalp marks….and whatever you do NOT scalp your St. Augustine. This is primarily for Bermuda lawns.

@SunCityLawnCare Well, they're saying we have that but I can't really tell. We just got into this home and are trying to figure out the type we have. We also have sandy soil so not sure if scalping applies to sand.

I did this last week not to scalp, but had monsoon rains for a week and couldn't cut my lawn for a whole week. I usually cut my lawn three times a week. I have Bermuda. In Phoenix AZ. I keep my rotary mower wheel sitting 2 ( about 1 inch high ) And forgot to raise it. LOL. I did have to bag clippings, but very hard to push after one week of no cutting. Scalp marks everywhere. I got lucky because after mowing mime, One Minute after finishing we got a half-inch of rain in 10 minutes. I water three times a week. On Friday's mow, I raise my blade up one notch just to trim it up and get the green back. It looks good now and it will shine this coming Holiday weekend. Any tips on when I can start Grub control for the winter? I have armyworms and June bugs that come out in Spring trying to put a plane together for next year or am I wasting time? In the South, we typically apply pest control for grubs and many other pests the end of May/early June. Then I like you 3 months later in September.
