Husband and I walk daily at least 3 miles, sometimes 4,5 miles. I did trip and fall on Christmas Eve 2023, broke my arm, had to wear an immobilized sling several weeks. We continued to go on walk’s daily. You are an inspiration.

My Aunty was always a good Walker and even now at 92 she still walks but with a frame and does her own shopping and walks up and down the Main Street where she lives x

That's impressive, a two-hour walk. My grandfather emigrated from Germany to Baltimore in 1908. Like you, he had healthy routines. Grandad would take what he called "an evening constitutional," a long walk after dinner. He said it freed the mind and got the blood stirring. Nowadays it'd be dangerous to do in the city, but he'd be gone for over an hour, walking the pavements. Your walk is much lovelier, of course. Take care, Ilona.

Hi Ilona, you're so right on we got to look after ourselves because no one else will do it for us. Walking is great, I need to do it instead of keep talking about doing it. It looks lovely where you are. Be careful as you go, I went on walk a good 2 weeks ago and within 5 minutes I fell over and really hurt my wrist. After several hours waiting in a&e thankfully the xrays showed I hadn't broken it but god it still bloody hurts. They did give me a splint which I'm still wearing. Well stay safe, stay warm. Xxxx

You’re right Ilona slip of the tongue , ‘can you hear me ‘ what actually brought it to mind recently was watching Kevin R Miles channel and he had a problem with the audio at the end of one of his live-streams he peered into the camera and said ‘ Can you hear me ? ‘ I asked him in the comments if he could remember the chaps name and he came up with it , as I am a similar age to him we share the same memories from listening to the WIRELESS 😜😜🤣

Hello Ilona, When your walk first began it looked very foggy! Where I am live in the NE GA mtns it is foggy like that when the mist settles down from the smokey mountains into my the valleys! What a lovely area to walk in.I went out with dog this morning at eight oclock,it was all frozen and white and sparkly. everwhere,absolutely beautiful.Was on for two hours by which time the sun had come out and so had all the deer.It just looked like a giant Christmas card scene.Like you I love walking,have been walking for the last 45 years and I would hate not to do it,all my family are good walkers,better than going to the gym.xxxxx

Exercise bikes at home become a boring chore. Can you set up a screen and watch some videos while you walk? Do not feel guilty if you are not motivated to exercise. The results of over eating, eating the wrong foods, and can't be bothered to exercise, rest squarely on your shoulders. Either accept that you are always going to be a blob that sits on the sofa stuffing your face with chocolate, or get up and move about. The choice is yours. Sorry if that is a bit harsh, but you have the power to change things.

I walk 3 days a week for 2 hours each time pushing twin boys in a double weighing 50lb between them! Then I work as a school cleaner 5 afternoons a week 2 hours per shift ! So I normally walk 5/6 hours a day , Love walking outdoors so good for you

Lovely walk . I injured my knee getting off a bus a while back so can't walk as much as I'd like to . Still go out every day . I have my ' out ' mornings and my ' in ' afternoons . I'm a bit causious of walking far cos my knee complains ! But have to plod on ☺️ . Take care when walking 'off road ' in this weather . Stout boots and yes take a stick . How do you calculate how far you've walked ?

Hello. Never hear of those items. We don't have bears here. Don't know what a mace it. And it is folly to carry a knife because it can be used against you. Maybe it's best to walk in places where you feel safe.
