It sounds a bit too simplistic to do that, but if we make changes to how we do things there is a better life out there for all of us. The trouble is that a lot of people have been programmed to behave in a particular way. To hand over all decision making to someone else. People need to take back their lives and not give away large chunks of it to those who make the rules. Be a rebel.

Heartily sick of the way we are being governed Ilona , the only way is to detach as much as possible which is becoming increasingly harder . I am with you about preferring to camp in a field , during a difficult time in my life I actually did this with my husband and dog for almost a year 20 years ago it didn’t phase me then nor would it now, just keep on keeping on Ilona don’t let the bu-ers grind you down 😘

I couldn't agree more. I use cash whenever possible, 99% of the time. Credit card a few times a year for online purchases. I do have a smartphone, but use it only a few times a week to communicate with friends. It's so easy to become addicted and glued to your phone. Life is too short for that. Greetings from Germany. 😀

This morning Sky Australia had a segment about the "messages." I wasn't surprised, sadly. I want to see those that trampled on our freedoms punished. I'm talking prison, so that they will never try this again. I write my congressmen and senators monthly because they need to remember who they represent. Truth is willing out in front of our eyes. So true, Ilona, that the bottom line is our lives and how we live them: free. Thank you for a great message surrounded by lovely English countryside.

I used to walk my dog across some lovely fields where I live. All full of wild birds, deers and Rabbits. Then Berkeley Homes bulldozed it and built about 400 houses there, and sickeningly called it Hareshill and have statues of “Hares playing” I mean seriously 😳😂😂😂. So depressing! I’m with you Ilona

My bank has a branch in my town. They can close it if they like. I get all my cash out of the Post Office with my debit card. They try to force people into online banking, just say no. Start again with a fresh bog standard account at a different bank. I get a paper statement once a month. I have a cheque book for sending charitable donations through the post. I have ditched my credit card, don't need it. I don't have a fancy iphone, no apps.

I would say to the shop owners my money spends anywhere and you have lost a sale. I am in the minority and don't have a mobile phone. I do use my tablet and use messenger to contact family.

Shirley, if they won't take your cash all you have to do is walk away and say no thanks, I won't bother. You are the customer. You choose where you shop. I pay for all my groceries at the supermarkets with cash. Sometimes over £100. I always make sure I have enough with me. The only time I have to use a card is if I go through the Humber Bridge toll, so I don't go any more. I went to a museum and they wanted card payment, so I walked away. I don't take a card out with me. I tell them I only pay with cash.
