EMF stands for Electromagnetic Fields. The Earth itself produces magnetic fields so you'd expect some reading at all times assuming your device doesn't automatically account for this (some I believe do and it'll register a zero reading). Basically anything with electricity flowing through it would trigger an EMF reading whether it be an underground powerline or something of that nature. Pretty much, they can claim ghosts or aliens all day long because of this.

Serious talk time, now: Felix mentioned something really important called "The Fermi Paradox", which groups a handful of really logical explanations as to why we haven't seen aliens yet. That specific one talks about impending doom towards each race that rises to eventually destroy itself, but there are many others. My favourite, and the reason why I believe aliens still haven't reached us, is because the universe is just too vast, and life is too rare. Just think about it: it would take roughly 1.5~2 million years for any advanced species to colonize an entire galaxy. AN ENTIRE GALAXY, not a cluster, not a constellation, not the arm of a spiralling galaxy, but its whole. 2 million years are peanuts when compared to the whole age of the universe (13.5 billion years), which means WE here on Earth were supposed to be overcrowded with alien neighboors nowadays. We'd be spotting colonized planets and space habitats with the naked eye... or, who knows, maybe Earth would have been colonized by aliens even before any human ancestors could start their evolution around these parts, thus nullifying our presence here entirely. The fact we cannot spot a SINGLE habitable structure around 1/4 of our galaxy (which is roughly what our telescopes can spot with current technology) proves there has been no secondary civilization sharing this same Milky Way Galaxy with us... heck, maybe not even around other nearby galaxies, because they too would have had TIME to cross the vacuum gap between them to start colonization here. To conclude, here is a sad prospect: the Milky Way Galaxy spans a radius of over 100.000 light years wide, which means even if a tiny alien craft were to enter its zone today, it would still take anything from 2 thousand to 100 thousand years in the future till they could reach Earth where it stands at the moment. The empty void space is dark and sad, unfortunately...

There could be colonies of bacteria or single-celled organisms that we will never discover. Its more likely that species with interstellar travel actually visiting us. But without that believe we wouldn't have charlatans peddling this bs and making these awful shows.

It’s also possible other life forms killed themselves by destroying their planet like we are. I dunno. There are Many possibilities in my opinion, especially since we barely know many of the creatures that inhabit our earth with us. Ie. we find like 18k new species each year. Guess it’s matter of opinion until maybe one day we find an alien planet.

It *is* my birthday. Thank you Felix and Ken for wishing me Happy Birthday. P.S. I'm pretty sure that the radioactivity part was utter bullshit. The Geiger counter was at zero as you guys pointed out. But in actuality there is background radiation. Basically no matter where you are there are small amounts of radiation and devices like that one should be able to pick that up and when looking for unnatural radiation it exceeds those levels of ~5 rem per year. Harmful radiation occurs at ~200 rem. This stayed perfectly at zero. I'm pretty sure they just put the sound of it over the video. I am officially calling bullshit.

I study zoology, specifically marine invertebrates like octopuses, and we can mostly track the evolutionary lineage of cephalopods on earth.
