On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

I've been following the channel for some time now and very rarely comment on videos, but this one is something more. Awesome segment about the past and great hints what is going on during the dogfight, definitely easies up the entry level knowledge, the area I remember struggling myself the most with at the beginning. You lifted up the quality to the whole new level, and I sincerely hope it will become a new standard. Stellar job GS, thank you!

Glad to see that I'm not the only person who noticed the whole other level of effort that's been put into this video. It was refreshing to see the combination of a lot of different styles and techniques I've seen GS implement in past dogfighting videos, but never have they all been implemented at once into one video! This video definitely had a whole other level of effort put into it and it hasn't gone by unnoticed. Good stuff GS, we'd love to see more videos like this, but we also understand how much more work it takes to make ;)

That 2nd fight, even though the Viper ultimately won, was a textbook of beautiful defensive flying on your part, and beautiful offensive flying on the Viper's part. Stuff like this is why I love your content, GS; there is always a rich opportunity to learn more about BFM, ACM, and all forms of aerial combat. The deadly geometry, the sky dance, is also something I find beautiful in the extreme.

Love the F 16, even though my dad flew the F 18, so that's my favorite jet. But the company he flies for recently got dozens of block 60 F 16s, that may be sent to where he works, and he may learn to fly. It'd be interesting to hear about the differences between the different aircraft he's flown in a dogfight.

That last AIM9M was from a batch that was carefully hand polished and fettled by the ground crew before takeoff. The IR seeker window had been lovingly polished with Windex -Military Grade and each of its tail fins and roller bearings were lighly coated in WD40 -mil spec prior to takeoff. You can see the results for yourself as it proudly chases down that maneuvering Grumman and detonates with pride off its port quarter. ps.That's a strong YES from me re: the red circle...
@paktahn
@paktahn Жыл бұрын
wd40 is not a lube that should be used on a bearing of any type in fact it isnt a lube at all its a solvent so putting it on any bearing would cause more harm than good as solvents break down lube it would also probably dry before the missile gets a chance to leave the rail bearings get oil or grease nothing else

Also the subtitles were great, there's probably a bunch of things that both pilots are doing than a running vocal commentary can communicate.

GS, really appreciated the intro on both fighters. I was around when those films were made. I remember it was the F-16 Falcon and the F-20 Tigershark going at it for the next fighter for the Air Force. Yeager was really pushing for the F-20, but the F-16 was clearly the better airframe. For those who don’t remember, the F-20 was a souped up version of the F-5.

Now it's easy to see without me having to think, but I'd still prefer if we have to do something by ourselves.
