I was almost afraid that you had forgotten the shadow bomb, which was almost as important as the cloaking devices in keeping the ship undetected, as it enabled the use of ordinance without jeapordizing the fighter's stealth, making it extremely valuable.

Something that wasn't mentioned was that the StealthX had no shields, and the shadow bombs not only lacked guidance systems but also propulsion systems. Yuuzhan Vong ships didn't have shields as such, they would instead open micro black holes and absorb incoming fire. It didn't matter if it was from capital ship turbo lasers or photon torpedos, so by releasing the shadow bombs instead of firing them made them as invisible as the StealthX itself.

A very interesting video. Enjoyed it very much. However, I'd say the StealthX would also make the best kind of fighter for a single man mission, where no other friendlies will be in the area. There would be no need to communicate with friendly fighters, so a non force user wouldn't need to break radio silence. Also, there aren't that many ships in science fiction that use passive stealth technologies like a matt black finish. Cloaking gets used too often when this kind of camo works just as well in deep space.

You're right on both counts. I also agree that not enough sci-fi series and franchises showcase passive stealth technologies, which is a shame in my opinion. The only other vessel that immediately comes to mind is the Prowler (family?) of stealth frigates used by those upstanding chaps within the Office of Naval Intelligence, and even then, some classes did eventually gain actual, optical camouflage field generation capabilities after Halo 3.

The only thing I see people complaining about on the polls are people constantly picking the top choice, and I quite agree with them, about 75% of the polls I vote for have the top suggestion with the most votes, on the last one (I think it was the last one anyway) I made the suggestion that maybe people on their phone accidently clicked the top choice, although it could be that they might be the most interesting to a majority of the voters.

If multiple governments are using these lanes to transport troops and move products for trade etc. then why don’t we ever see multiple ships next to each other or even crossing paths in hyperspace and wouldn’t more common routes have problems with a buildup of ships using them

They are/were. Using hyperspace lane is the same as using a regular airspace lane. A smugglers like han solo doesn't have to ask for permission because he have a private lane all for himself. Also as an extra precaution all ships are equipped with safety measures to prevent collision.

That's like asking why there's not traffic in the sky for planes. Because the sky is very big compared to the tiny crafts that travel in it, and that's infinitely more true for space/hyperspace, even if there are defined "lanes".

@@EchthelionII in the game Knights of the Old Republic, he is described as a tactical genius who took command of the old republics fleet against the highly aggressive, ruthless, and capable united mandalorian clans and turned the tide of war doing so. Dialogue from Canderous Ordo, a mandalorian party member, gives a lot of insight into his tactics and his ability to lead. He himself was a bit ruthless, and was shown to be willing to "give up high ground" to the enemy if it meant that strategically he could make up for it later. He is often decribed by many in the KOTOR games as genius, and a polarizing and decisive leader who commanded a lot of respect; very similar to the old Legends Thrawn and new canon Thrawn. There's not as much material on him as there is Thrawn, and granted, the Old republic game and books kinda.... neutered him a bit, but nevertheless, his achievements and downfall are all rather reminiscent of Thrawn's original EU trilogy, with the addition of him being a force user.

It would be fun but have to go with Forerunners. Too Fast with Slipspace, got drones to make up for any numbers, and they know how to use them. High level warriors are much more powerful than a Space Marine, much more stable as well so that they can just keep making them. Also numbered officially in the trillions. Much bigger ships are the norm and they know their tech, which is also on a much higher level. Sure individual fights might be won with Emporer or Primarch's in charge but High Level Prometheans are really capable and would win most of the time. I enjoy both franchises a lot, and would love the video, but no way this goes any other way.

StealthXs are terrifying, you could just be minding your own business in deep space and suddenly get a shadow bomb up your afterburners with no warning whatsoever. The only time the stealth became a hindrance was when Mara's fighter was shot down and couldn't be found. Also, the StealthX had special Tibanna gas for its laser cannons, allowing reasonable retention of stealth while firing.

Don't worry too much about that. These were piloted by Jedi. (New Republic era Jedi.[Legends]) If you're minding your own business most likely you'll be flying in space never even noticing them. Also firing weapons gave the stealth away. They're priority was stealth so they wouldn't be picking fights often.

StealthX fighters could be individually flown by non sensitive pilots, but they couldn't be flown in squadrons by non-sensitives. I'm extremely surprised that individual fighters weren't used as scouting vessels more often.

I like the concept of the stripped down fighters Jedi used in the prequels, where the ships were practically just an engine, cockpit & blasters. The Stealth X sounds like a combination of a superiority & steath fighter, and I worry that with all that tech on board, the weight might make piloting it feel sluggish for a Jedi.

The way I envisioned the Stealth-X as primarily using a F-22 Raptor as the base. I dealt with the engine turbines exhaust and the blaster cannons by drawling upon the F-117 NightHawk engine/wing design to flatten them down the span of the s-foils (wings). As for the right-angled forward edge of the s-foils, I chose to a forward-facing modified continuous curve style employing the fibonacci sequence where the inner forward edge of the foil sweeps forward just shy of the cockpit and sweeping back (to where the forward edge of the foil was with the older models) to about 2/3’s the span before curving back forwards for the blaster cannon which is turnicated by 2/3’s length with the tibanna gas cartridge now being incorporated into the foil itself. The aft edge of the foil angles back as with the wing of the F-22. (I have no idea if the forward curved wing would work.) The fuselage is slightly widened to provide room for the extra electronic warfare modules and ordinances. Some of those packages where moved behind the cockpit which now sits closer to the fuselage’s front end. The rear of the fuselage needed to extended, while keeping to the same overall length as the tip of the nose cone to the turbine exhaust ports of earlier model X-Wings. The inner cockpit was another area to concern as earlier alliance star fighters interiors were quite bulky and angular, so they needed to curved naturally around the pilot both for ease of access and to further minimize radar/ladar returns. And since the original model was designed a few decades back during the pre-rebellion era and the old controls added to bulk and interior angles as they were built more for function rather than comfort anyway, so I decided that it would stand to reason to update them from the simplified mid-60’s era aesthetic to that of a simplified late 90’s stealth control layout aesthetic. The Astromech housing is the last area to consider. Which leaves the pilot and chair, and obviously that can’t be helped. But, stealth doesn’t mean the fighter would be invisible. The main idea is cut down the radar/ ladar profile returns as well as emissions as much as possible, and confuse the returned sensor readings for much of the remainder. ei, You preferably want the passive and automated active sensors to overlook your fighter as either noise or benign. Still, it would be unlikely that advanced sensors and a good pair of eyes that have a good idea of what, where to look for and with the knowledge that that fighter might be in play, would be fooled by this tech. Nor would they likely fool a good Phased Array radar system, even modern stealth fighters can’t fool those.

And However is based on the Newer XJ variant, and the US Stealth Bomber and Vulcan Bomber. you may need to add #askeck for this. besides, it's a pretty long winded topic considering how massive both lores are and how complicated the imperium is as a faction. from what info that i gleaned, the forerunners is a pretty noble, selfless faction (pretty boring character in my opinion, but thats just me) with tech that can scour a galaxy clean of all life. all this will attract fans from both sides that will start nitpicking on the video and other comments. such strife might cause the comment section to burst into flames.

The way I understood it, THe Stealth X isnt jedi exclusive. Its only when acting in squadron when the starfighter requires Jedi. When used alone as a scout it can be used by non-force users and the Jedi Shadow Bomb sounds like dumb fire torpedo that uses the force for guided capability. But if you get close enough you could just manually fire it. If you get pilots to fly in radio silence and give them each an order to drop a shadow bomb on top of the enemy capital ships + a timer you can take out or damage the enemy fleet just as your fleet enters combat. Thats the way i understood it. Unless there is an other reason for it to be impossible to be used by non-force users?

Reason Not Lie I believe force fire is a dark side force ability that few use because it’s ridiculously hard to control, but it would still make a good vid

I actually a fan of heavy star fighters like ARC 170 or even bombers, but if I hab to choose something lighter, I would not take the X-wing, I like the Delta-7 much more and think it could be an excellent fighter with some heavy weapons upgrades

Finally, someone has talked about the stealth X, great video Also just wondering, why do you not agree with resurrecting characters in sw legends? The reason I brought up Anakin Solo in my other comment is because for me his death cheapens Chewbacca’s and Ikrit’s sacrifices and his story arc felt incomplete when he died. That’s why I think he should be brought back
