I think Cirie’s vote on Courtney is so good because it is just pure strategy. She had no funky little advantages, or immunity; the vote was entirely built on social expertise. Pure Littlefinger shit, I’ll tell ya.

I miss these kinds of votes, honestly. Now, there are like 4 active advantages at all times and it makes pulling off something like this impossibly complicated. The advantage obsession is actively killing the advanced strategy of survivor (more often than not).
@njc84

@@crumblyburgers Exactly!! I hate all the advantage nonsense. The game was at it's best when there were a couple of idols floating around and pure strategy. The ONE thing you could always rely on was having a vote, but now there's risk your vote, control a vote, double vote blah blah on top of all the other dumb advantages. The game is broken and I don't really enjoy watching it now.

Before starting this video I knew Cirie's 3-2-1 vote on Courtney would be #1. It's a pure masterclass on how to manipulate the votes without the use of idols, extra votes, or other advantages. What makes her move all the better is the fact that Cirie was not immune and therefore this could have easily backfired on her and had her going home. If this move would've propelled her to winning the game then I would definitely put this as the greatest single move in Survivor history. It's definitely top 3 in my book. To me Tony's vote out of Sophie is #1.

Agree 100%. I think if someone other than Aras wins that Final 4 Immunity Cirie is likely our winner. Danielle wins they vote Aras out, Terry or Cirie wins Aras goes to fire-making against Danielle. In a Final 3 scenario Terry sucks at final immunity and whoever is left of Aras/Danielle likely take Cirie if they win and I think she beats both relatively easily. Aras might put up a fight but Cirie could easily just mention she saved his ass.

Tony’s blindside of Sophie was so crazy to watch because it kind of reminded me of his gameplay in Cagayan, except way more refined and well thought out. Instead of being all panicky and paranoid like in Cagayan, Tony based his move on strategy and amazing game sense. Like you said, he saw that Sophie was both his biggest jury threat and the player most likely to take a shot at him when given the chance. He saw an opportunity to take her out that would also help solidify his core four alliance with Ben and Denise, as well as connecting well with Michele, Jeremy and Nick. Literally the only person who was mad at him after the blindside was Sarah, and she obviously got over that in the end. This move really was brilliant from a social and strategic perspective! Sure, had Tony not won the following immunity he may have been in trouble, but the fact is he took full advantage of this move and benefitted him so greatly for the rest of the game!

@066kshitizvsingh4
@066kshitizvsingh4 Жыл бұрын
did she?? the idolgeddon plurality only happened because the idol holders knew that they were safe no matter what thanks to the Idols and didnt care about the vote.Were there no idols the vote might have gone to rocks or Cirie gets voted out for being the only one not in a do or die. IIRC the original plan was for a minority vote split between Aubrey and Tai as Brad was safe, Sarah had to play her legacy advantage and Troyzans idol. The only thing was, no one expected Tai to have 2 idols.

Cirie pulled off big moves be she did a lot of subtle maneuvering. She knew where she stood and how the other players thought. The 3-2-1 Courtney vote changed everything. She likely would have still come in 4th if she went along with Terry’s plan or Shane’s plan for Courtney, but it took a fire making tie breaker to take her out at 4 with the Courtesy move and it made her enough of a beloved player that she was an actual favorite in Micronesia, an actual hero in Heroes v Villains, and a legit Game Changer in Game Changers.

I'd be really interested in seeing a video of the 5 greatest moves in survivor history if you felt you could make the list. My Thoughts on some contenders: Rich stepping down in the final immunity. The Original 3-2-1 as mentioned here Russell leading Tyson into voting for Parv in HvV (I am not a Russell fan but I think this is too often credited as Tyson being dumb rather than Russell playing well). Tony convincing Woo to take him to final tribal. Maryanne's FTC idol reveal (might be a hot-take but it was so impactful to me).

Oh my God, Ive just thought of one of the only plurality idol plays if this counts. The dynamic was 5-4 between Vavau (Craig, Andrew, Sue, Conner, JL) and Aganoa (Phoebe, Rohan, Kat, Kristie). Vavau put 5 votes on Phoebe, who used an idol. Aganoa planned to vote Sue out to even up the numbers, however because Rohan and Kat hated each other, they both turned on each other, and Kristie suded with Kat. This saw Rohan get idoled out by his own idol by a vote of 2-1-1

I think the real strength of Cirie's 3-2-1 is how razor thin the margin, and how volatile the players were. Tony's moves was impressive without a doubt, smartly executed and slick enough to send Sophie home with an idol in her pocket. Tony had some slight advantages that round, not only having immunity, but working with players who are generally rational. Cirie had neither. Now she was definitely safe that round so immunity is less of an issue, but she had to work with colleagues who were much less willing to bend. Shane, Terry, and Courtney, half the tribe, were all unmovable despite all three having a great relationship with Cirie. Shane and Terry felt they were now running things and could not bend, and Courntey wanted on the Terri train. That leaves Danielle and Aras. Aras? This is a good move, game advancing, plus he was the target. For Danielle (the second best player on Panama) she had a real chance to go to final three with Terry and Courtney, and win as long as she wins final immunity. Cirie had one option, to convince Danielle that she had her best interest in mind, and it was beautiful

@@timothyloux2294 I definitely think she loses against Terry, and wins against Danielle / Courtney / Shane. I think Aras Vs Cirie is close because their games were so closely intertwined, in a JT/Stephen or Sophie/Coach or Tina/Colby etc kind of way, so it could purely come down to the FTC arguments and also just who the jury instinctively likes more as a person.

Your definition of Plurality vote is not quite correct. It is when the person with the most votes is not the majority. Cerie’s 3-2-1 to get Courtney out is an example of that. Courtney had exactly half the votes.

I disagree with the MaryAnne vote. I thought the move was sooooooo lucky then, and I still think it now. Lindsey had her amulet, which was wide knowledge and (because Hai and Drea were on the jury) was an immunity idol. It expired at final 6. Lindsey had no knowledge of the vote against Omar, had no plans to take him out, and he was a loyal ally to her. Lindsey had immunity this round, and so it made ZERO sense for her to not play the amulet for Omar. Mike and Jonathan had the right idea. Now was the time to play it safe so that Lindsey and Omar do not decide who goes home. Sure Mike had an idol, but he had no idea whom Lindsey and Omar were voting for. It sucks that the goat would have had to be voted out, making Final Tribal harder, but I believe it was 100% the right move. MaryAnne made a hard gamble (it payed off), but a stupid one. She could have very easily gone home because of that move, and it would have been labeled a massive mistake.

I think Maryanne desperately needed to do something big. A lot of the people on the cast looked at her as just a big personality without much game to her. Had she not takes that risk, I think she loses the game to Mike, Lindsay or Omar.

@@FlaggedALot She absolutely does if they beat her to the end or take her even. It appalls me that the jury looked past the depth of the move, and failed to realize how short-sighted and shallow a move it was. MaryAnne had no good moves there, but I believe she picked the worse option and somehow it worked. A move made from desperation does not a good move make.
@FlaggedALot
@FlaggedALot Жыл бұрын
@@chrisadair4565 Then what do you think she should have done? Voted off Romeo or Jonathan two of the only players she could have beaten? I don’t see how she wins without taking out Omar the way she did at 6. Yes it was a big risk but to call it a worse move than voting out Romeo or Johnathan is flat out delusion. She would have to sit next to at least one of Mike Lindsay and Omar and would have had no moves to show the jury. Maybe she beats Mike anyways but it would have been closer and would have required Mike to bomb, and her to deliver an all time great performance, and while it does play out that way in reality, Maryanne had no idea it was going to happen that way.

@@FlaggedALot Omar isn't winning, thanks to Drea's vile attitude planting seeds at Ponderosa claiming that he was a racist and he wanted to take two white players (Lindsay and Johnathan) to FTC, it was revealed in a RHAP podcast that CBS themselves had to issue a cease and desist, while the interview is no longer available, there is a video that talks about Drea's nastiness. It is important to note that Omar isn't winning, thanks to Drea's vile attitude planting seeds at Ponderosa claiming that he was a racist and he wanted to take two white players (Lindsay and Johnathan) to FTC. Omar revealed it in a RHAP podcast that CBS themselves had to issue a cease and desist (removing the video from existence), while the interview is no longer available, there is a video that talks about Drea's nastiness. It got so bad that even r/survivor tried to cover up the entire case by blocking people from even bringing it up. When Omar was blindsided and was sent to the jury, Omar claimed that Hai went up to Omar at Ponderosa and told him along the lines of "you're thankful that you're on the jury as we would have embarrassed you at FTC"
