I think when he looks at her, he isn't falling in love. He's seeing his ticket to grandeur and acceptance from high society that he never had growing up. That's why it was such a red flag to his wife. The one thing that could threaten her relationship with him was his need for validation.
@jadynlozada81814 жыл бұрын
So true! She knows him better than anyone, and can tell that his ambition and need for acceptance will cause him to lose sight of what's truly important: happiness and family. He was always so adamant on giving her the life that she had before she had married him, but he didn't realize that it wasn't what she wanted. All she wanted was to share "a million dreams" with him, and to find happiness. She was never very happy in her swanky childhood home. Plus, it becomes obvious later on that he never had any romantic feelings for Jenny.

He became obsessed with money and fame, defying his poor youth and proving her parents wrong. At this point she feels he's not in love with either of them, just the fame. He is no longer the man she defied her parents to marry, no longer the boy she loved.

What I love most about this song is how it can be interpreted in two different ways. On one hand, for her, fame wasn’t enough. She wanted love...specifically from him. And for him, no matter how much fame and fortune he acquired, it was never enough. He was always striving for more until finally he lost everything. I know a lot of people hated the part where the camera panned to him, and he stared at her in awe while she sang. That was honestly one of my favorite parts in the movie. Because it showed how while she was falling in love with him, he was falling in love with her talent, because ultimately her talent would be the thing that brought him greater fortune. There was some degree of betrayal towards his family being shown there, but not exactly for the reason that it appears. I also believe that subconsciously the song must have resonated with him, but for a completely different reason than it did her. Both of them exhibited selfishness for the things they wanted, and their pride clouded their judgment in the end, potentially ruining the lives of those around them. It’s a powerful concept, really. There were so many significant parts in this scene, you really have to watch it a dozen times to see it all. Of course the real story happened nothing like this, but I’m glad this rendition remained wholesome and inspirational throughout. Awesome scene. Impeccable movie.

Jessica Julien I’m sorry to hear that:( Is your health better now? Well you see, the unofficial rule is you don’t read the YT comments unless you saw the movie. So I disagree.

sneakingintocommentsection things are finally moving in the right direction. Thank you for asking and yes while that’s true, I usually read them anyways to see if I can find anyone who enjoys her voice as much as I do...since she was on the show The Voice and in my opinion was given the axe way to early...

I am still at awe at this masterpiece. The actress and the singer may have lip-synced but the fact that you can see the actress do her best and give out all her emotions just shows how much she loved every part of her role doing just that.

I have three things when Loren came out in BGT as the original singer of this song 1. I appreciate more the song 2. Rebecca is such a good actress which she really convince us that she is the one singing this. 3. Loren Allred, no doubt, a vocalist of this generation ❤️
@mycenia2 жыл бұрын
The phrase "came out" is a bit much. Loren is credited for the song in the film, album, and on every streaming service it plays on. She did the tour and has been on multiple world tours in the last several years. The woman hasn't been hiding in some dark closet and BGT (and all of the judges) knew it. They just sold a story to anyone who never bothered to notice her name on the billing.
