@@mig9534 no not by itself. reynor got respect for beating serral, but he always beat serral in a zvz with quirky surprising plays that caught serral off-guard. meanwhile reynor always struggled to beat the korean players and get the international recognition. now that he is playing well against players like Maru i would say Reynor is officially one of the really great players now.

I was watching this one live as well and, despite being alone in my living room, the hype was real, chat was going crazy, divided between Reynor and Maru fans. The tension was palpable, with Reynor looking down at that 2-0 but the comeback was so insane. It was honestly the best game I'd ever seen. I would have loved to see Clem v Reynor in the final but it was not meant to be.

I haven't been this ROCK HARD in a long time. The title does not disappoint. This was so good. I watched it twice back to back. And I don't even play starcraft. Both Maru & Reynor are the true embodiment of their respective races. This series should be given a special award for best series of the tournament. There was a mention of throwing everything at the wall, but nothing's sticking. In my experience, the more that you throw at the wall, the less that sticks. What I find to be more successful is you choose one thing and instead of throwing it, you walk up to the wall and you hammer it in.

Maru has to do some serious homework. Reynor used to die in early game to Maru's execution and agression just a couple of years ago. Reynor since has evolved into a monster survivor zerg with inhuman precision and execution. I think Maru hasn't evolved as much, but I still think Maru's potential and talent is better than Reynor's.

Nah, Maru later game in turtling style is the best in TvZ. He doesnt need to do early game damage to Reynor to win the games. Had Maru kept playing his style into game 3 and 4 instead of doing agressive build and cheese build, he could have won either of those games. Game 5 was a truly 50/50 game until Reynor make those Infestor. If Maru was making some Ghost with EMP ready, he could have won that game.

Might be bias when you think an older veteran of the game has more room to grow than a 18 year old kid. He's still years away from his prime and winning scrappy fights against legends and blowing out former champions. The height of Reynors ceiling is unimaginable at this point.
