Yeah, those of us among the old guard are _well_ aware of what kind of man DSP is. Before the toxic streaming, he was _the_ toxic gamer. He flat-out _sucked_ at most of what he played, refused to get better, and blamed either the game or his opponents. I haven't kept up with his particular brand of madness for a while, but I'm not surprised that he continues to sink and sink.

@Xyronflare2 жыл бұрын
@@Judokasting Your guess is as good as mine. I stopped following him or most detractor channels since after the whole Vest Streak and the bankruptcy, things are just monotonous; plays a game without immersing or caring about it, blames everything when he loses, nags about needing more money. Even if you wanted to watch him for the kicks, it's like rewatching the same movie over and over again. It gets really boring after a while.
@bundesautobahn72 жыл бұрын
@@Xyronflare He's got money creatures that bankroll him. One of them is OnlyIcedCoffee (aka OIC), who by his own admission has sock accounts for use in DSP's stream. He admitted that to detractors, and he got scolded by Phil for talking to detractors, effectively "cancelled" OIC so he would fall back in line. Philip Paul Burnell is a sociopath. Through his pathological lying and social engineering he keeps control over the few people who are actual humans watching (that's called "pignosis"), while detractors suspect (and justifiably so) that DSP is viewbotting. And he got busted recently for followerbotting, which ended in those new follows being purged.
@Xyronflare2 жыл бұрын
@@bundesautobahn7 I knew about most of this stuff, but the followerbotting thing is new to me. Is it like all those "buy subs/followers/viewers" they keep spamming you whenever you try to stream? Because man, that's beyond pathetic. At this point, he's just trying to look like a big channel, maybe with the impression that, if other people see his big numbers, they might think he's worth watching and tune in? I dunno, I can't stand watching him, and as I said, the detractor content gets repetitive without anything that stands out.

What you fail to understand is that his streams have between 300-400 viewers. But his membership goal is 1025. If you look at his membership rewards, they are emojis in chat, you can ask a question for his Q&A he does every 3-5 months, and you can nominate 2 games to be voted on in a viewer’s choice poll for games he’ll play during his monthly events. Said events are the “reward” for hitting the members goal. The voting in the poll itself is open to everyone including nonmembers. So he has 800-something members, wants 1025 members every month “to help pay his bills” even though his streams only average 300-400 viewers and his chat has 10 active people at any time and his membership rewards are completely useless. He also needs the equivalent of $50,000/year in extra money while maintaining a tips goal of $150 PER STREAM which is $300 per day, 6 days a week. Don’t you think that’s weird, August the Duck? Don’t you think it’s weird he NEEDS 1025 members per month at $4 a piece on top of $1,800 per week not including ad revenue or superchats? I mean he claims to live “paycheck to paycheck” which are his exact words. Even though his streams are 300 viewers with the same 10-15 people in chat every time. And his uploads only get 300-1000 views per video. There are a lot of weird things going on at DSP Industries. Brother, you have no idea the rabbit hole you’re tip-toeing around. Everybody hears DSP and they think the guy that plays games badly, rages at games, begs for money, and J-ed O on stream. None of these KZbinrs dig into the deep, dark secrets of DSP and take a hard look at the numbers. They don’t look at the gaslighting he employs. He’s one of the most abusive KZbinrs on the platform and he’s outright running a scam. But because he’s a lolcow, everyone’s distracted by his lolcow antics.

As a musician, I've never cared about making money, I care about connecting with people, because music saved my life when I was 17. If I can do anything near that for someone else, that's enough for me. My music resonating with someone else is all I really want. Because when that happens, they tell their friends and family about it. Word of mouth is still the best support you can get from your community / fans in any kind of content creation industry. If they want to pay for my music, or take music lessons, or see me play live, or buy my merch, that's the cherries, whipped cream and sprinkles on top. It's not required, but I appreciate the heck out of it. Streaming isn't dissimilar. If you enjoy me making a fool of myself playing video games, and it brightens your day, great! That's the entire point! Once you hit that "follow" button on Twitch / KZbin, that's all I need. I don't care if you're active in the chat or just want to hide the chatbox and watch. I'm just happy you're there and you're choosing MY STREAM to entertain you. Because, again, when someone chooses YOU, they're more likely to tell their friends. Again, word of mouth is an extremely potent and powerful tool in this industry. And again, at that point, if you want to sub / tip / donate, that's amazing. If you want to buy merch, follow on social media platforms, etc., that's all amazing, too. But none of that is required. Your viewership is enough.

He is the internet equivalent of "homeless man with cardboard sign sitting at the street corner". His streams have nothing to offer unless you are someone going through a rough time and pop into his stream to remind yourself that no matter how tough your current situation, at least you aren't him. He's just a creator who's time in the spotlight ended long ago but he's desperate to not have to get a real job.

The saddest part for me is the chat. Most of them are obviously just there to watch him have a breakdown and tantrum every time he doesn't get the money he wants and they just egg him on. Whats sad about that is he doesn't seem to realise that and think they're all there to watch him, but the other sad thing is that theres also a small amount of viewers who are genuinely there and they genuinely feel sad and guilty when they have no more money to give? Like its their fault? Like he's actually making them feel ashamed that they only gave $20 and not $50 And that they feel reaching his goals is a victory?

So many small creators out on YT who do content better with much more humble approach who deserve subs and donations more than DSP… it’s so sad to see that he manages to get those $$$ while better people struggle to grow and put actual effort into their videos
@antiproductive41312 жыл бұрын
My favorite part of the DSP lore is the WWE Championship gambling addiction where he spent thousands of dollars on a fucking match-3 mobile game while begging for money on stream on a daily basis. Legend. Still baffled that he even has fans

One major point that this video doesn't quite touch on with respect to DSP's membership numbers is that over 60% of those are gifted. Furthermore, the vast majority of them (500+) were gifted by one person, and those memberships have just started to expire this past weekend. So his extortion racket for having a Christmas stream involved trying to get someone to pack on over 125+ MORE memberships because he was encouraged by the one guy who more than doubled his memberships over the course of a few days. Even worse for our boy Phil is that he's nervous about outright begging currently after Moist Cr1tiKal made fun of him for the exact clip shown at the start of this video. So he's watching his memberships plummet, his viewership dwindling, and his tips barely hanging on which causes him to lash out at his audience quite frequently.

it’s hilarious to me that the only time i ever see DSP’s content is in videos talking about how awful he is. i feel like he has a much larger hate base compared to how many actual fans.
@brunneng382 жыл бұрын
True. On any given day he could be streaming to around 200 people but if you go to one of his “detractor’s” Channels- they’ll be restreaming the video with 400 people watching 😂

So the thing about DSP is the frustration of the game being bad isn't honestly a factor. He doesn't care about games, he hates playing them. DSPs enjoyment just comes from money he gets.

Some of them work outside, even in crappy weather. And they watch this dude to have an escape. This guy better leave at least a 20% tip to any and everyone who serves him and accepts tips.

Where did we go wrong in the world, where random people who sit in front of a camera, playing and talking about video games, can make hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars for literally doing NOTHING? I can't be as angry at the streamers as much as I am towards the viewers and supporters of said person. It's like televangelists and faith healers with the millions that dump their hard earned money to them for nothing

Right ? I mean I get it, SOME people can be entertaining. But people like Phil are despicable. Personally I can't really stand streaming. Really the only streamer I can watch is probably Vinnie/Vinesauce.
@Arthur-uu3px11 ай бұрын
Phil is one of the most ungrateful and entitled streamers on the entire Internet. It's painfully obvious that he hates streaming games for a living, but he's been doing this for so long that he probably doesn't think he can do anything else. That is by no means an excuse, and anyone with a conscious would be absolutely ashamed of acting the way Phil does on his streams.

The fact that he thought it was normal to chastize his viewers for not throwing money at him while he bltched and moaned during an entire stream for an obviously bad game is just so insane. I am constantly shocked by the fact that DSP still exists. Normal human beings don't like being complained to that they aren't throwing more money at someone who offers next to no entertainment value especially when u know how much this dude makes a year.. he makes over 100k a year, spends like a lunatic on mobile games and still acts like his fans need to "step it up" whenever he goes on a spending spree on a candy crush wrestling mobile game

5:40. In 2018 Phil did a marathon stream to raise $1,000 to " save his house". People actually donated I think up to $2,000 because they actually felt bad for him just for him reveal that he bought a cat from a shelter.

A cat that he’d already had for a long while, too. Or during the vest streak when viewers saw a new vest in the background and he called them stupid and said he didn’t know what they were talking about, only to set a double vest goal for a “big reveal” and when hit he revealed that very same vest that viewers had seen and Phil pretended didn’t exist 🤥 So slimy

I heard that the $1000 that came in at the near end of the stream was a setup and he had a paypig waiting in the rafters, bumping him up to a total of $2000. Granted this is hearsay so I can't vouch for its validity, but this is Phil we're talking about so I definitely wouldn't put it past him.

The only thing worse than Phil begging for money is how much of it he actually pisses away on stupid shit. He’s constantly lying about how “broke” he actually is and lives beyond the means of most people with an actual 9 to 5. Most people who’ve kept up with him over the years know the math never adds up when he talks about his bills vs the new shit he suddenly turns up with on a later stream.
