I just came back from a festival of underground Dubstep artists in CA. One of the bigger names paused the wrong channel. This mistake means not only did she not bother showing up to soundcheck, but also didn't even bother to check her thumb drives after they were prepped. She does also sound drunk, I've heard her on stage before, she doesn't just sound like this because of a lisp. Alcohol, or drugs had to be a factor, she's dragging vowel syllables out super hard, one of the hallmarks of drunk people, not one of the hallmarks of a lisp.

To be fair, Coachella tends to keep a tight grip on their videos. Within the last couple of years, there was a Joji Coachella set that was erased from the internet. It's not that uncommon for Coachella videos to get strikes. Also, and this may be a stretch, but I've always thought Grimes adopted her lisp to be "different". It doesn't seem natural to me.

I am amazed to see how in this and other videos there are people who defend her as if she were a poor victim and talk about all her talent etc. The hype was so much that I went to Spotify and listen to some of her most popular tracks and, oh boy, nowadays audiences are content with soooooo little and make anyone who makes mediocre music relevant. Best thing about the Grimes DJ fiasco.....i know the system she uses, there is literally a BUTTON to half/quarter even double the PERCEIVED Tempo, the software does it a lot with certain 'Busy' tunes with Polyrythms etc and gives the tempo either halfed/doubled in BPMs...any electronic DJ knows this and just has to 'press the button'....
